Theres no way around it, being Vader's apprentice (playing Dark-side) you can't live because he has no apprentice in episodes IV-VI. If you choose to be a Jedi (playing Light-side) you can't live because the only one who does is Kenobi, and if they won't let you play Vader they're certainly not gonna let you have Old Benny-Boy!
