I experienced [upgrade failure] on 2 different computers and it turned out to be that the reserved system partition was nearly full. I used a partition manager and increased the size a little and the upgrade ran just fine.

caused by these things? I'm not sure I would want my kids around that. Or are they planning to completely enclose the device and filter the air after the build is complete?

Add me to the Proclear users. I used to use Acuvue and by 8pm I couldn't stand them. I typically wear my proclears for about 18 hours a day and have no trouble with them.
I'm quite happy with my Win XP Pro system as it is. It does everything I need or want it to do, I can't remember the last time it crashed on me (a year at least, it stays on 24/7 and I do a reboot only when an install or update requires it), and I use software and good practices to keep my system and home network safe from the bad guys.
Yes, I can wait quite a long time for Longhorn if it will be good enough to make me want to upgrade.
I've been wondering about Opera myself. Hopefully there are some people here who have used Opera and Firefox and can explain if it would be worth it to pay for Opera. I went to download the free version to check it over but apparently I'll have to wait a while:
