Why is it people have to pay $30+ per year for a subscription renewal for a big-name, commercial scanner that can't even find things the freeware packages find and remove?
A very good question... I just re-install when the "trial" subscription runs out.
Dude, that shit's infectious. When I was at Disneyland with the family last summer we would play that while waiting in line, and after 2 minutes half the line would be slapping each other's hands like retards.
From your post it seems you're making two vital mistakes in your dismissal of WoW. First, it doesn't seem you've played any of the Warcraft games. Secondly, you're basing your opinions off of a/. article.
Warcraft isn't just another RTS game, it actually has a well thought out backstory (complete with many novels). Sure, there are orcs and dwarves and elves just like "every other" fantasy setting, but any Warcraft fan will tell you that their traits and personalities are completely different than what you might expect. Hell, Warcraft humans actually HAVE personalities. They wereren't just thrown in as the "generic race". Some might even say the orcs are the good guys.
All in all, and this is to everyone who will inevitably dismiss WoW as "just another fantasy MMORPG", don't knock it 'til you try it.
The last time I used Trillian (granted it was about 6 months ago) I didn't have to pay anything and I didn't get any ad/spyware, AFAIK it's completely optional. And other (better) clients like Miranda and Kopete are completely free.
As a previous poster stated, it has nothing to do with cost, it has to do with control.
Fuck that shit. I bought a GameCube because I want to play GAMES. I don't want to pay $200 more for a console/dvd player/washing machine/whatever the fuck else they put in their systems just to play great Nintendo games.
Spare the world the "casual player" bullshit. It's a GAME. You're supposed to play games to have FUN. The point of SWG (and all MMORPGs) is to progress a character YOU create and have fun doing it.
People who buy accounts on eBay are not "casual gamers" looking to save a buck. They are people with deep psychological problems who feel the need to "own" everything in order to make up for something else.
Sorry for the trollish generalization, but it needs to be said.
Regardless of whether or not it's a positive or negative review, don't buy a game based on what other people think about it. Personally, I think SWG is the best thing since sliced bread, but there are plenty of people with the exact opposite opinion. As for facts... If you don't like bugs, wait a month or two before buying.
Whoever faked that did a pretty shoddy job. I mean, come on... The logo and address aren't even slanted with the rest of the page. It would have looked a lot more authentic had he actually printed it out and then scanned it back in.
The one thing that stood out to me was the point people kept making that Clear Channel is already abusing existing regulations. Why on earth would the FCC ever relax them further when Clear Channel doesn't even respect them now?
So the problem is not only what could happen if these rules are further relaxed. The problem exists now, with the rules the way they are. Clear Channel owns nine stations in the SF Bay Area market, for example, while the legal limit is eight.
Huh? There's nothing to be settled, this should be a dead issue. As soon as the first version of "Mozilla Browser" is released people will forget that it's codenamed "Firebird". How many people refer to the current Mozilla suite as "SeaMonkey"?
According to the Phoenix (now Firebird) project page, they already went through months of legal investigation and deemed Firebird a perfectly usable and un-infringing name. There is no way they will change it now.
Also, considering the Firebird Database is an open source project, I doubt they would be able/willing to bring up a lawsuit for the name anyhow.
Near the end, when Harry and Lloyd are handcuffed to the bed and fighting, Harry says "Fine, just tell me where to sign!" to which Lloyd responds, "On my sandwich, right after you kiss it!" "Sandwich" is supposed to be "ass". As bad as it was, it sure made me laugh.
It sure is a good time-waster though.

Earthbound (for the SNES) is completely playable with a normal SNES controller using just your left hand, and it's a great game to boot.
As another poster stated, accessibility options are very useful in a pinch.
Just because bomb shelters aren't used every day doesn't mean we don't need them.

Yes it is.
Actually, he said he wanted to have a clusterfuck of Barbies.

This site also contains links for a bunch of sites where you can get freely distributable music.
And don't forget you can also buy non-RIAA music.

Karma whore turn on!
Better than an article

Don't forget the ever-classic English-Japanese-English:
Today, the Ivan the detergent of the vaccuum which you leave to the fritz, that it does not inhale, for the second time it is.
Also the radio markets are still limited to a max. of 8 in markets of 45 or greater stations.

I was going to suggest TBFKAP, as in "The Browser Formerly Known As Phoenix", but can you believe it? That's taken too!

Tough choice... Do I buy that, or Capcom vs. Fucking Everything?
Meet Harvey Birdman: Attorney at Law. (flash required) Not by Marvel, but great all the same.

What? XBox isn't emulated? GameCube wins again...
It's funny. Laugh.
