  1. Bzzt. on Virtual 4th of July · · Score: 1

"World of Warcraft isn't doing anything July 4th specific"

    News to me...

  2. Re:EvanWTFgelion on Cartoon Network Acquires Neon Genesis Evangelon · · Score: 1

"FLCL airing on the cartoon network was bigger news than this."

I wasn't sure what show you were talking about so I googled it... OMG I remember watching that last Saturday. Some weird fucking shit there.

    But of course, it's anime.

P.S. Anyone else catch the bumps on Thursday? Man, ACTN fans are fucking hilarious.

  3. Re:Are they making an error ? on Nintendo Revolution Details Emerge · · Score: 1, Insightful

"and i don't just mean with adults, but with kids too."

I think you mean *just* with kids. I can't imagine anyone over 25 not buying something that is entertaining because it's "omgwtfkiddie".

Kids are stupid. They have to be "cool" or other the other stupid kids will reject them.

  4. "I'm cancelling over the honor system" on MMOG Market Mutterings · · Score: 2, Insightful

Give me a break. These people who are "quitting" (yeah, sure) are all people who consciously CHOSE a PvP server and are now complaining that they can't quest because people are participating in PvP. Here's your sign.

This will have zero impact on the big picture.

  5. Re:So I should expect patches now? on World of Warcraft Shatters Sales Records · · Score: 1

"With that much money, there should be no reason that I repeatedly run into server problems"

Yeah, because Blizzard has a special vending machine in which they're supposed to place all of their cash for each month so it can magically upgrade their server infastructure, hire more GMs and the like... They just didn't do it this month.

  6. Re:eBay you say? on Ebay Buys Into Craiglist · · Score: 1

I've been selling a lot of stuff the past few months (unemployment), and I realized there's really not much useful information you can put into feedback except "quick payment" or "fast shipment". Unless there was an issue that was worked out well, it's basically just filler.

  7. Re:I don't play EA Sports games online... on EA Sports Debuts Premium Pass - Moving Toward Subscriptions? · · Score: 2, Insightful

Well the difference is that it's the company itself that is offering it...

    D'oh!

And guess what? UO is owned by EA too!

  8. Re:Durability on RJ Mical On The DS, PSP, Current Game Hardware · · Score: 1

There was a letter in the Player's Pulse section of Nintendo Power a long time ago with a story about someone who left their Gameboy (the original mind you) out in the snow for an entire winter and it still worked when the snow melted and he found it.

Who knows if it's true, but personally I've dropped my Wavebird (well, on the carpet) at least 20 times with no damage. However my PS/PS2 controllers all have saggy analog sticks even with less regular use than my Gamecube controllers...

  9. Re:Sounds Like a Solid Line-up on Nintendo Reveals More DS Games, Publishers · · Score: 1

Zero Mission isn't a remake so much as a complete overhaul meant to replace the original. It's not like they just tacked Super Metroid graphics onto it, they added a storyline and much more content than the original had.

As for other SNES/NES remakes/re-releases, remember that the SNES itself came out over ten years ago. There are a lot of young/teenage gamers who never got a chance to experience Super Mario World or the original Zelda. Whether it's a ripoff or not, I'd rather see kids playing those than Grand Theft Auto.

  10. Re:FFX and Xenosaga on On The Secret Life Of Videogame Voice Actors · · Score: 1

The voice acting in FFX was average at best, and was certainly not helped by the horrid script. I think I stopped playing after the 100th time one of the characters said "you know?" after a sentence for no reason whatsoever.

  11. Re:Star Wars Knights Of The Old Republic on On The Secret Life Of Videogame Voice Actors · · Score: 1

Phil LaMarr isn't exactly a "well known hollywood actor", but he is an INCREDIBLY talented voice actor. It's hard to believe Hermes Conrad and Samurai Jack are voiced by the same person.

  13. What the fuck? on How Should Games Be Analyzed? · · Score: 0, Flamebait

Games are a form of entertainment. If you find a game fun, you play it. If you don't, you put it away. What is there to analyze?

  17. Wow. (Re:Boasting?) on Itagaki Talks Ninja Gaiden Difficulty, Sequel, DOA · · Score: 2, Insightful

I completely understand a person having a preference towards games that are harder, but insulting people who enjoy RPGs or other games that don't require masterful hand-eye coordination is ridiculous.

Games are meant to be fun, not a contest to see who's more "leet". Grow up a little.

  18. Re:7.6% is one number but there are many reasons on 2003 CD Sales Officially Down 7.6 Percent · · Score: 1

You don't need a label to make music. Music is an art form, and the "music industry" has nothing to do with art.

I can't have sympathy for someone who sings or plays an instrument just to make money.

  19. Hell yeah on John Woo & Metroid the Movie? · · Score: 1

I've dreamed of a Metroid movie since I saw the first movie clips of Metroid Prime.

Next on my game-to-movie list: Warcraft. Come on Blizzard, you know you want to.

  20. Re:"I'm into murders and executions." on Comcast Signs Deal To Acquire TechTV · · Score: 3, Interesting
Why in God's name would you want to read news and view clips of other people playing games when you could be playing them yourself?

I've never watched G4, but I did once have a subscription to IGN.com and the video previews were my favorite part. Sometimes screenshots just aren't enough.

Why wait 25 minutes see a review on a game you're curious about when you can go online and find it in 25 seconds?

That's an easy one: Not everyone who plays video games has internet access, the same way not everyone who goes to see movies has internet access. Why do you think Roger Ebert has been on TV for so many years?
