More Storage space for HD backups. My 250 Gig HD would take 60 DVD's as opposed to 5 Blue Ray disks. (O.K. Mute point at this time since I only need to back up 100 Gigs of data, but 2 Disks vs 25 Disks is still good.)
As for Entertainment Media, ie music and movies: Nothing. Games: They can stop comming on 3-4 DVD's. Less Storage limitations for Console games.
Or it could be worse. You would get paid for 2 hours work, while Joe would get paid for 10 hours work. So in the long run you and Frank get penilized for being better. (Don't laugh, I've seen it happen.)
I think that capitalism is how democracy works.
Not true... In a TRUE democracy EVERYONE gets a vote.
With Capitalism, only the people with the most money get a vote.
going into it's 29'th season, now officialy longer than all of star trek put together. (Side note, star trek never passed doctor who. The year they would have (28 seanons) Doctor who came back to match) (That is counting EVERY star trek series though)
As a writer, I'd like to be paid for my work. I'd rather not make it easy for people to redistribute my work without compensating me.
It must be noted that DRM, and most copyright laws, are desighned to "protect"* the publisher, not the original author. As a writer you whant something that protects your right to distribute your work anyway you whant. As soon as you sign on with a normal publisher you lose all rights to the work. That is whan gets my goat.
* by "protect" I mean "abuse the hell out of the little people for money"
Acctual conversation between me and a legal secritary:
Her: What is the difference between a file and a folder.
Me: Your a secritary, right.
Her: Yes.
Me: *goes over to file cabinate, takes out folder, takes file out of folder* THis is a file *puts file back in folder* this is a folder.
Her: I mean on the computer.
Me: Same thing.
Her: Hu?, oh, wait (think dumb blond here), how do I tell the difference between them.
Me: The little yellow one, that looks like a folder.
Her: yes
Me: That is a folder. Everything in it is a file.
Her: This is hard (crying) Don't be mean to me.
(I just walked away)
Solving a problem that exists due to ignorance by further idiot-proofing the system doesn't seem like a good long-term solution, nor does it seem a good precedent to set.
To late, that precedent was set back in the mid 70's. That is what is causing most of our problems now. We have created the situation where we are the ones doing the jumping everytime a user does not "get it".
Have you tried changing when you get the sleep. I know with me it does not matter how much sleep if I get it between 10Pm and 7am, (not consistent) I am still a wreck the next day. If I get it between 3am and 12pm, I'm fine. Regardless of how much sleep I get. What the GP was saying helps make a little more sence out of everything. Shift SWS and REM up a few hours and I am most likely just getting to SWS when my alarms start going off. (to get to work for 8 am)
that we're minutes away from making them fear moving a mouse at the wrong angle.
We are acctually several years past that point.
I was requested to asist an individual on a HS computer, win 95 system. (this was 7 years ago) asked the individual what they whanted to do, which was to use a book search application. I moved the mouse over to click on it, and she freaked out. I mean full on fit. "OMFG YOU BROKE IT WHAT ARE YOU DOING???!!!???????*** HAXOR!!!!" At this point the 'helpfull' teacher walkes over, I get in shit, and the teacher then attempts to assist the user. I listened in out of curiosity, and was dismayed to find that the teacher knew less about computers than the individual they where helping... I just walked away.
Serenity... Well, I guess that means the turn over time has shrunk to the point where the original cast, crew, and creators are involved in the big-screen remakes...
[obvious tag]
"First, We kill all the lawyers" is from a shakesperian play (can't remember which one) and acctually refered to the lunacy of the actions on the part of one of the characters. The assumption being that lawyers are needed for society to run smoothly. Which is true... "In Theory" (I love those words) Seriously, if you get charged with a crime, are you going to defend yourself in court, or are you going to hier someone who knows the law. The problem comes with the ethical code. Lawyers are only responsible to their clients, that's it. There is no higher ethical code. Comparisons: If a bridge built by an Engeneer collapses and people die, the engeneer loses their licence to practise, and will probably face criminal charges. If a Doctor F*#!s up and a patient dies, same deal. A lawyer gets a mass murderer off through a loop-hole or technicality, and he has done a good job, here have a cookie... see the basic problem. (or supports some womans lawsuit of Mcrap when she spills coffie on her lap...) [That was ment to ryme, sorry couln't help myself].
It must be pointed out that the original poster never said that overmedication is not the ONLY cause of Leukemia, but that it might be one [of many] possible cause[s]. I wonder, do you know if the OTC and perscription drugs where tested for overdoses, or just the standerd dose.
I would also like to point out:
Suing someone (else) because you spilled coffie on you lap == BAD
Suing someone because they shot you with a gun == Acceptable
I'm sure you can see the difference.
That being said, I would much rather criminal charges be brought up against these guys, rather than resorting to a civil lawsuit.
Or, you could do what I'm doing and "voting with my dollar", I was going to buy a PS3, now I'm going to buy a Revolution instead. I was going to buy a PSP, Now I'm going to by a DS instead. Simple as that.
you *can* usually read the lyrics when you actually buy the CD, since most of the time it has a lyrics booklet included FALSE
Only about 1 in 3 of my CD's Actually contain a lyric booklet. Not to mention my collection of audio cassetts, (I refuse to spend money just to replace them with CD copies.), which have NO lyrics included at all, in any of them.
Problem 2. Shadow war took too long to build up to, then ended too quickly and in an anticlimactic way
This is the fault of the studio, The shadow war was intended to be up untill the very end of the fourth season, but the studio decided to Sudo-cancel the show. This forced JMS to wrap up the last two years in one. This is what led to the rushed ending, and should not be a reflection of JMS or his writing.
Problem 3. Londo and G'Kar and their governments were the best part of the show, but were totally neglected
did you even whatch the show?? Remember that whole half a year devoted to the Narn/Centari war?, remember all the episodes after that dealing with the aftermath? Remember all the stuff in the fifth season devoted to the Drak's strangle hold on the Centari empire after the shadow war? That was what the last 2/3rds of the fifth season was about~!

No, light has the same speed regardless of your frame of reference.
Human Stupidity has nothing to do with information, so it is not limited by this factor.
but it would certainly mean there were lifeforms elsewhere
Gauged on that blast, the're not there anymore.

And your point is...
Yes... But Boxing and wrestling are usually Mutually-Consensual.
I don't know about you, but personally, I have NEVER agreed to be stabbed.
No, what makes us true geeks/nerds is that we are now 25-30 and still think Transformers are a cool idea, and obsess about them. Unlike our pears.

Fifth rule: If this is your first time buing a DRM Sony disk, You MUST install the sony rootkit.

Look at it this way, We now have scientific evidence backing up our common sense, now how often does that happen?

Which was, IIRC, the ONLY LEGITIMATE use of the "blink" tag.
