I think the problem is that some, the more loud and vocal, Christians are the ones that spout the burning in fire message. My church sends the message of bringing heaven to earth, instead of condemning people to hell. The message is more help the oppressed and suffering of the world out. 6% of the population has 70% of the wealth. If they just gave a fraction of what they had we could completely get rid of poverty and homelessness in the world. This message seems pretty far away from convert or die message. However we're labeled a bible church or Christian church just like those others are. This is definitely a struggle Christians face.
As for the people trying to ban the game, for the amount of effort they're spending, time and cost included, they could probably feed and cloth a whole village in a developing country. Some religious people should take some more time to look at their priorities.
I use a receiver. You can hook all yours game systems and speakers up to it.
Alternative option. They do make stand-alone RCA switches. The only one I could find past 5 or 6 ports was this: Pelican System Selector HD, which holds 10 devices.
I agree with you. My car gets 37/41 miles per gallon according to the dealer. I've filled my tank after long drives and that seems pretty accurate to my actual gas mileage. Now one time I drafted trucks on the expressway all the way from Grand Rapids to Chicago and back. I ended up getting 43.6 miles per gallon, which is the most I've ever gotten with my car. I only had to fill up my 11.9 gallon tank to full before leaving and not once during the drive there or back.
Myspace doesn't allow user to use JavaScript. When you put JavaScript in your code on your profile it just changes it into "..." and doesn't work. That's why something like this work around came around to get JavaScript to run. Myspace did a reasonable amount to avoid this by blocking JavaScript, which made hackers get even sneakier. Hence the cycle begins again.
When it comes to profit they matched the wrong company from last generation. Microsoft lost money on their XBox console and had to scrap up that loss with their games and now Sony is too. They should have matched Nintendo who made money on their console and their games.
Nintendo was the one who profited the most last generation, it looks like they will again.
The great thing is no matter which company profits the most it's the gamers who always win out. Competition is good.
Additional there are sports, repetitive, and MMO games.
They technically could only be as long as playing a season. Like in a football game that you have to beat 10 teams to win. Then there is the Wii sports where you could play tennis anywhere from a few minute for a short game to playing 10 games of bowling and making a day out of it. Again you can always come back for more.
Or for instance, a repetitive game like Tetris, Dr. Mario, Mean bean Machine, Tetris attack, or some of the puzzle and word games. These games you can keep playing competitively against a computer or other player and the game never really ends, but there might be mini victories or high scores to keep you playing.
Where to MMO games fit into this?
We could simplify this and just say they mean for a single player game with a campaign, in that case you covered it pretty well.
Exercise in the way we're arguing about is physical exertion. What is your definition of exercising that which my physical excretion playing the Wii doesn't match it? Please answer this I'm not just being facetious.
To further my point context also plays a role. Swinging the Wii mote around is exercise compared to sitting in a chair and mashing buttons. And it seems meaningful enough to replace sitting down with standing and swinging, resulting in breaking a sweat. Secondly if I'm breaking a sweat for ANY reason, on the Wii or not then it's exercise, no matter how you slice it. You can make the Wii exercise if you get into the games enough. No one is arguing that this is the only exercise you should do to be healthy and have a toned body, but that doesn't mean that it isn't at all meaningful.
As for being sore, if went and did "REAL" exercise like playing tennis with a tennis racket as much as I played it on the Wii you better bet I'd be sore. My dad is a runner. He runs all the time and he still gets sore. When you exert yourself, say exercising, you can get sore.
If playing tennis with a racket is exercise, which the majority of people would agree is, then playing tennis on the Wii can also be exercise. The only differences being that I might not being running around as much, or have as heavy of a device to swing. I just have to work harder to produce results, but it surely is still a work out. People lifting weights are doing the same type of exercise I am, in the sense that they're doing physical exertion in a single confined area.
Thats estimating that 97% of those computers will have Vista by the end of 2007. That seems like a tall estimate. I doubt that many companies and gamers will switch to Vista so quickly.
I could see companies switching to Vista if they have a huge need for it specifically next year. I can't see that many gamers upgrading to Vista till a game requires it, like DX10, which isnt XP compatable.
In a year this won't even be interesting, but right now it is. A year from now I'll already know how this all turned out, but it's fun to predict right now what that might be. You can't predict something is going to happen after it's already happened. So either get into the hype or stop complaining that others are into it and skip by the article.
As for health, I was breaking a sweat playing Wii tennis the other day. My body was sore the next day from too much Wii bowling and tennis combined. I'm pretty sure that's helping, not hurting my health, even with the minor pain.
As for aggression, I could see some games that could provoke that, but also ones that allow you to let your aggression out in the game, instead of on others.
Legal and moral are not equivalent. If you believe this moral relativistic state, then you're saying the Nazis killing the Jews were moral, because it was legal and supported by the country. Just think about that.
So,/., where is our display technology headed? Coated conventional paper? Plastic reprintable paper? Glasses with heads up displays and wireless data feed?"
In an earlier story on Slashdot, here, the FBI tried to go paperless. I think we should look to them and find out what they needed paper for and see if any of the current alternatives would work for them. Personally I don't see any of these alternatives panning out on a wide scale to replace paper only to supplement it in certain situations.
to me isn't about whether e-mail in the definition includes instant messaging. I think the real question is if he broke the law considering the sheriff was not a minor and isn't this entrapment?
Either way even if he didn't break the law if he knowingly was trying to solicit sex from a minor that's gross and he should be disciplined in some way.
No wonder my page views have droped significantly on Myspace, maybe I should get rid of the huge background image that makes it so you can't read my text, and all those slide shows of picutes I have on there, oh and that automatically playing song, the video on there, and...

But WoW players don't have a life haven't you seen South Park's WoW episode.
From the episode: He's been playing World of Warcraft for so long he must have no life. "How do you kill that which has no life?"
To futher my point only a day later comes this article.

Don't worry Spore will bring it back for a little while. It probably will be the only EA game I buy too.

This is just buying the illusion that you have them.

Its shares, which soared 9,560% throughout the 1990s, sunk 63% in 2000 when the Internet bubble burst, and they have yet to fully recover."
That's because once people got online they found out there are alternatives to Microsoft products.

You're from England aren't you.
Michael Jackson will do a spoof of the movie with little kids to replace the little hobits.
You're my hero.

The first definition of e-mail at dictionary.com is:
1. a system for sending messages from one individual to another via telecommunications links between computers or terminals.
It sounds like it covers instant messages pretty well.
I'm sick of this fake stuff. I want au natural.

Yeah he will, a little white castle they call prison.
