Does this mean I can finally get to see what is just outside the frame when they show the naked actress from neck-up or with something conveniently positioned just in front of the "important bits"?
No, they would be owners of a shiny plastic disc. Apple retains ownership of the software. Users of software do not become owners of the copyright held in the software.
That's like saying that if you buy a book, you own the pieces of paper but not the letters on them. It's nonsense.
It would appear to bee too many idiots all around.
Which makes sense. Imagine your average Joe Schmoe. Not too bright is he? Now just think: Being average, that means half the population are even less bright than he is.
Wonderful, uplifting thoughts for the day. You're welcome.
I find it rather surprising that some enterprising person/persons haven't started to produce an educational Linux distribution... just pile on a lot of idiot proofing;-)
Someone have! In norway there's an initiative called School-linux. For those norwegian(ish) speaking SlashDot readers out there, check out http://www.skolelinux.no/
Twenty years for movies and music. No particular reason for that figure, but it seems reasonable that after a generation changes in style and taste would render old movies/music finacially worthless outside of the people who collect "classics".
You mean financially worthless like StarWars?
While I agree with your intentions, I think you'd hava a hard time getting this through.
If someone reverse-engineered one of your patented trade-secrets
I hate to be a bore but AFAIK a patent requires you to publish the information, which kinda defeats the purpose of a trade secret.
Basically, you patent OR trade secret, but you can't have both This means that if your precious secret is discovered, youre out of luck.
Now, if your secret was discovered Illegally, you could sue, and prevent the publishing/spreading of your secret. This is what the DVD CCA are arguing, that he violated an EULA by reverse-engineering.
Jon is quite adept at answering questions like this
I read a similar interview with him held at www.vg.no (Norwegian newspapers web site) and I was very impressed by the way he answered all questions in a serious and proffesional manner.
He was obviously chosen as spokesman(?) for MoRE for a reason
That being said, I actually would find it intresting to see Jon reply to something like this. But that's just my twisted intrests. -- Tarald - The Lord of Smeg
Because I have kids?
I'd rather not have to get my under-13s their own accounts and have to tripple-purchase all the games we all like to play.

God is like a shamrock. He's small, green and split three ways
... if HTC, Apple and all the others spent their time and money making better products instead of on War Chests?
If they competed on the strength of their merit instead of on the size of their legal funds?
I'll crawl back into my little dreamworld now.
Yeah.
It's definitely NOT okay to kill people in creative and innovative ways!

I actually saw the Directors Cut first. When I later sat down to watch the original I switched off in disgust after about 20 minutes.

It's been released actually..
And that's just in the EU
Just to nitpick: Norway is not part of the EU
if you, say, bought a RedHat package full of GNU software? You're paying to use it, right?
No, you're paying for the vaule-added services Redhat provides. (Media, support, extra non-free programs) The software itself is free.

I've always wondered about these flying fucks...
What do they look like?
Are they better than regular, walking/sitting fucks?
The average american is pretty stupid
And, taking the meaning of average, that means half the american population are even more stupid.
Encouraging isn't it?
Thats nice.
These bastards take out two buildings and kill 10.000 people, so lets take out their entire country
What does that make you, killing a country full of mostly innocent people?

You're not drunk if you can lie on the floor without holding on
( ie: >CD c:\wi becomes cd:\windows)
This can be done i WinNT/2K as well.
:)
Fire up regedit, search for "CompletionChar" and set it to "9"
This is not a user friendly way to do it, and is not meant to rebuke your post, only as information to other readers

>MCSE, CCA
If you want any credibility around here, you should probably not mention that you are an MCSE.
Why? Does being an MCSE automatically mean that you're not clued up on techie things?
At least he's making money offa that crap, which is a good alternative when annihilating is not a viable option.

Anyone else find this remotely intresting?
