The average user won't care. They'll continue getting their music from youtube, games from steam and TV from iplayer or 4od. Most pirates won't care much either. TPB became a virus fest when it became popular.
Overpriced - yep. Censored - yep, like every other ISP. Incompetent - not as an ISP. Great uptime, decent enough speed, plus you get to use their wifi hotspots which are located in pretty much every street. If you don't mind paying they are one of the best ISPs around.

Maybe we just don't need it? Our closest apps to AI are Siri and whatever the Android voice app is. All they do is retrieve information. Same as a google search. Nearly everyone under 30 (and quite a few over that) grew up with computers and most know how to use them. True turing AI at this point would only really benefit people who don't know how to find information themselves.

I brought a dvd/cd drive 4 or 5 years ago. I only ever use it about once a year when I get new hardware and need to install drivers (which I then update from the 'net). I'm sure at some point hardware will come with a usb install instead of an optical disc, but atm it's going the way of the floppy drive.
Same. My 'dumbphone' also has a torch, FM radio and a few games, but I wouldn't miss them if it didn't. The most attractive feature is the week+ long battery life.
Hi kugs ! kugs - hello [ Af:0 At:7 Sp:0] Welcome, kugs. Type "help" if you need it. kugs - how are you [ Af:0 At:8 Sp:0] I'm pretty good. And you? kugs - I'm pretty tired [ Af:0 At:9 Sp:0] Glad to hear you are in good health. Sadly, it is merely the slowest possible rate at which one can die. How long do you have left? kugs - how long do I have until I go to sleep? kugs - I didn't understand what you meant. kugs - hello?
This is a great discovery, but what are we going to do with it? The obvious thing is to mine it out, but wouldn't lightening the mass of the moon have a (probably quite bad) effect on it's tidal effects to the earth?
There's been no news on Ep3 because they've been busy making Left 4 Dead 2, Portal 2, Steam for Mac (and working on Steam for Linux or so I hear) and updates for Team Fortress.
Final question, and one I'm sure you're not super-keen to answer, but I promised one of our tech guys I'd ask it. What truth is there to rumours that you're also working on a Linux version of Steam? Doug Lombardi: There's no Linux version that we're working on right now....
It wasn't worth it for me. I also brought GTA IV, and spent a couple hours installing and downloading the drm. When it came to an OS reinstall, I decided to download a pirate copy as it was easier.
http://www.ighome.com/ is also worth mentioning.
Hiring a company that already knows how to do this stuff is probably a hell of a lot cheaper in the short run than funding a new one.
Pretty sure it's the case with all magazines.

Plus Apple's been selling hardware for over 35 years. Google's experience has been web apps, and that's been for less than 15 years.

If you've got old hardware, install an older version. If you've got a computer without a cd drive, install an os that can boot from floppies.
Video didn't work for me either on chrome. Direct link does.
How many people went up and down the stairs several times and messed up the traffic?

I managed to have a short chat.

kugs - how long do I have until I go to sleep?
kugs - I didn't understand what you meant.
kugs - hello?
I wasn't fooled.
No, I'm not joking - I'm ignorant.

Instead of dupes, ./ are now reporting the future. The extra load on the servers from people checking if it's up or not will take it down.

Your post is informative, but it makes the parent redundant.
