Sure.
When I caught my girl shaking her sippy cup full of juice over my macbook pro, I then had this distant feeling that maybe a waterproof keyboard is what she needs. Which is why this OLPC sounds like a good thing.
my e-mail is my handle on here using google's most excellent electronic mail service.
I have a 1.5 year old child. What programs do you have your kid use? Most of the stuff I have seen are for kids in school, simple math and word games.
I have an old HP tablet that I will let her play with once she can grasp what it is she's doing, but I think that will be a little while longer.
It all depends on your luck. I had a PS2 that the drive died.
But I also have a 360 launch day system that I have never had problems with. The 360 is on from about 5:30pm till 10-11pm every day. My kid watches movies on it, and when she goes to bed I play on Live.
But I am not denying that there isn't a huge problem, I had two friends that had 360's die in the last year, and they got theirs about a year after I did.
If you weren't at 5, I would have modded you to it. I have to say, I can count on one hand the number of times I have honestly laughed out loud from reading something on the internet, thanks to your post, I am on to my second hand.
Forgive me, El Microsoft. I know that I, Jefe, do not have your superior intellect and education. But could it be that once again, you are angry at something else, and are looking to take it out on me?
This has already been done. With "Gears of War", they came out with a few maps you could buy. Kameo, one of the first xbox 360 games, had a few costumes you could buy. I bet if I looked, I could find a dozen or so games where you almost needed to buy something to be better in the game. I used to play Chromehounds (another 360 game), you could buy better weapons if you wanted to, but as far as I could tell you couldn't win them in the game. I stopped playing it because of that.
It was created when God and his roomate, Chugs, were arm wrestling. God farted and waved it towards Chugs to gain an advantage. Then God asked to borrow Chugs' lighter and lit his next far on fire, thus creating the Big Bang.
I was extremely fortunate enough to have been given 3 old arcades cabinets (centipede, haunted castle, and guzzler), one of which I am converting into a MAME cabinet.
I'm right there with you. I have a DS, Wii, and xbox 360. I barely get started on a game before a new one comes out. I can't remember the last time I 100% finished a game. Sure I might have beaten the last boss, but I didn't do everything.
I just bought a house, and one of my requirements to the Realtor doing the searching is that it MUST be Fios ready, or I won't buy it. Though I am experience a weird lag where it takes the websites forever to come up, but once they start loading it takes nano seconds. I proved that it's my macs fault when I used my XP laptop and it was fine all around. I set a personal record with bit torrents pulling at 1.2 megs per second total. I cried tears of joy that day.
I have known about this game as soon as it was announced, but I still have no idea what platforms it will be available on. Based purely on that lack of info, I would guess that it's only playable on a PC.
I just looked at it on apples site. I wonder why it doesn't have gig capable ports on it. I have a 5 year old G4 with gig ethernet. I believe about every other apple product has gig ethernet on it now.
For the second time reading a comment on slashdot, I LOL'd. That was funny.
I totally agree. I still have the CD that came with the SNES game. I ripped it and listen to it on my iPod.
Now my grocery has all kinds of data on Santos L Halper who lives at 742 Evergreen Terrace.

Where's the fun in that?

maybe I'm first, maybe I'm not.

Oblivion requires a hard drive. And that's been a pretty popular game.

I'd buy it if I could also get William Daniels to redo all the voice work but insert my name instead of "Micheal"

Instead of the running track to show you when to strike the cowbell, it's just Christopher Walken yelling "We need more cowbell!"
Luigi's Mansion

To Nerdism? Geeks of the World?
Redundant?!?, he posted like two minutes after the first post. Damn.
