Seems the way that society can deal with this is to have one person from each household not work.
Unfortunately the way that society usually deals with this is for some households to have two working people and others to live in abject poverty and struggle to get any legal employment at all.
If my car is in autopilot, and I take control of the vehicle just before dying in an accident, is it considered an autopilot fatality?
Also, as someone pointed out on the radio this morning, there are no reliable records of cases where people have taken control and avoided an accident. There could be a lot more cases than 1 in 130 million miles where the autopilot would have led to a fatality without intervention.
I think as well, purely anecdotally, that women tend to be treated more gently when they are refused. Much more likely to get a phone-call with "I'm sorry, though your experience is very good we just had someone with a better matching skillset" than the standard "Dear XXX, I am sorry to tell you that your application has not been successful at this time".
Dealing with the blunt rejection is something that they might not be used to, so they are more likely to be discouraged.
Logically people would be safer if all cars minimised fatalities. However this is a sort of tragedy of the commons, where everyone would buy a car that would sacrifice an unlimited number of people to save themselves.
This is not the way that everyone drives manually. I once had a colleague who spent months in hospital because he rode a motorbike round a bend at ridiculous speed, saw a scouts matching band in front, and drove off the road through a fence to avoid hitting them. He said he didn't really have time to make a conscious decision, he just saw kids in front and steered away.
A great demonstration of Indian technological ability. As they say, when India was partitioned one part got its flag on the moon while the other part got a moon on its flag.
Note that in this scenario _you have acted fraudulently_ and so that rule doesn't apply.
If you sell something and the payer gives a fraudulent cheque (or has fraudulent funds in the account), then as long as you did not know this you are not acting fraudulently.
"From the end of the sixth working day after we receive it, if the Cheque is returned unpaid by the paying bank, we cannot take the money from your account without your consent unless you have acted fraudulently"
Form TSB Cheque clearing process, but it is the same for all retail banks. Smaller building societies have a couple of additional days as they pass the cheques to a bank to clear.
I have android, I think pretty much people stick with what they are used to. Unless new iphone headphones are much more expensive than 3.5 mil jack headphones and there are no reasonably-priced adapters that seems like an odd reason for switching. Considering how much replacing your phone will cost anyway a little more for a headphone adapter seems small in comparison - is it really worth you finding your way round a different system, finding replacement apps, etc.
I can understand if there are other dissatisfaction and this is the last straw but to change just because of the jack plug seems odd. I wouldn't switch from android just because a plug had changed (though that is much less likely with multiple manufacturers)
Dave420 will be wondering whether the Mormon Tabernacle Choir or the Women's Institute are to blame. After all, he thinks that every religious organisation is equally likely to commit acts of terrorism.
I'd go back before that, the first stone cutting tool which started the evolutionary path away from what your body can do alone to what body, mind, and tools can do
In the EU it's pretty much always illegal to read your employees' emails.
Yes, we're so lucky in the UK to be part of an organisation that protect employees .... Oh wait!
So you can sack the employees before they do anything wrong
Like it or not, Israel is the frontier on the fight between freedom, liberty and democracy, and Sharia law.

What kind of computer scientists are they?
They should have made it 1024. And labelled them 0-1023.
What would Donald Trump Do? It's a huge issue....
All it needs is a minor change to his policy ... the wall has to be North of Texas
... and misogynistic, again proving the need for for to take gender studies degrees.
Clearly these women have deeply rooted cases of internalized misogyny thanks to the always present patriarchy.
Down with STEM!
Exactly. By their criteria men and women expressing support for the slut walk campaign would be counted as misogynistic
I think Intel needs to get some super-overdrive mode too if it wants to get down to 10nm as well...
But the dilithium crystals 'l never take it Captain!
Here son - you might as well have this Iphone 4, your older sister has my Iphone 5 now that I have bought the latest version.
Google Is A Serial Tracker
I always thought that it was a concurrent tracker.

You can watch the retro NSFW introduction video here.
This is one article where I dare not open any of the links at work!
Exactly. Why would anyone with an IQ above sea level ***submit*** to an invasive bodily fluids test?
Yes, they must be taking the piss ... oh wait!
Why would you say that is what "Islamists" want for the world?
It's what Muslims want for the world. Sharia law as set down in the Qur'an and Hadiths.
Riding a horse home from the party while drunk will teach them a lesson!
You mean it's not like in the cowboy films where the drunk cowboy sprawls across the saddle and the horse just takes him home?
...and this is why so many people are mystified by computing, the people that understand it are really bad at analogies.
Yes, it's a bit like a dolphin trying to talk to an elephant .... oh wait!

It is commonly believed that it takes 10,000 hours of practice to become an expert on something.
Well obviously this guy has had 10,000 hours of sex in moving cars.
