Being a non-U.S. citizen, I've heard this joke a couple of times now. What I wonder is: Is your voting system really that flawed, that dead people can be registered as voters? Or is it just an old joke?

I'm curious, really. Is this a problem in other countries as well?

Is there yet any robot that can actually walk? By walking, I mean walk like a human, where each step is slight fall forward, and not walk like current robots, where balance is kept at all times.

If such a robot exists, can someone please post a link?

Problem is, he has a good reputation. I know it's hard to believe, but among those whose opinions mean anything -- i. e. executives, board members, etc. -- his karma is definitely positive. In Sweden, he received an honour doctorate degree (link in Swedish) for his "valuable contributions for IT". I (and everybody else here) know it means nothing, but those who really ought to know, don't.

  19. Re:Curious about a detail on 10th Annual RoboCup · · Score: 1

    Some additions/corrections:

    • Small-size league: All units (four, if I remember correctly) are controlled by a separate server through radio. The units don't have any sensors; the server looks at the field through a camera located right above the field. Each unit is identified with a unique colour pattern on its "roof". This is by far the fastest and most action-packed league.
    • Medium-size league: There isn't any server. All units are completely autonomous. Not sure about communication, but our units didn't have any in-team communication. For "seeing" our units had a camera looking up into a cone-shaped mirror, giving a 360-view of the field (standard nowadays), ultra-sound sonar mounted on the front, and a surrounding belt of IR sensors.
