Anything has to be safer than all the open air tests of nuclear devices. Fallout from those is perfectly harmless according to the gov't and you trust what they say don't you? Well don't you?
IIRC, they don't want to prevent sites that generate revenue from ads and such to be suckered out of them. If they cached it, there would be problems with click throughs etc.
If I remember my research correctly, you can't sample the photons without changing their state. Thus it's not possible to generate new ones. If it were possible the entire idea would goto shit as a man in the middle could just intercept everything and regenerate new ones without being caught.
I changed my name to reflect an expresion of my innerself. As I feel this is an unique expression I do not want others copying it and infringing on my art.
Laptops aren't good enough yet for games (the new ATI mobility 9600 will definitely help) But please remember that you'll be spending many all nighters fragging people, just not as good on a laptop.
The LCD is for portability, it's pretty hard to lug a CRT around.
For academics I suggest pen and paper, laptops in class are for law students. Writting things out helps you remember them.
Disconnected the harddrive, and then dragged him out when the computer just didn't work. Keep him away for a few days and hope the detox isn't so bad.
Honestly there's healthy hobbies and unhealthy obsessions/addictions. I'm not one to say how anyone should spend their time, but this is way up there with being as useless as smoking crack.
Play for a bit, enjoy it, go read a book, go on a date, build a model, look at the clouds, make some money, play a D&D type game with some friends, do anything but level up a character that won't exist in 5-10 years.
What's tower defense?::) And my reason for asking here rather than googling is cause I'm having a rough day and need an excuse to come back here and check for responses.
And yes, the most fun has been coming out of Mods. BF1942 was made with the Modder in mind and just look at what it's spawned! Desert Combat in of itself is shaping up to be an amazing game, then you got your GI Joe mod, your Action BF1942 mod, etc.
True piracy was a concern, but originals always ran a bit better and smoother I thought.
I don't count NES Emulators, etc against the system though, they were one of the reasons I got one.
As far as I know though, being able to burn games came along after the Dreamcast had been on the market for sometime. They had a great lead over their competitors when compared pricewise.
This thing was selling $100 and then $150 less than the PS2 and the xbox and you got great quality games, no one ever knew about it.
Done in by not enough money to push a continuous marketting campaign. It had the games, Soul Caliber, Tony Hawk, Worms, come to mind, as well as the chance for online gaming.
I'll always love my dreamcast. The amount of extras that people made for this thing were immense. I have CD's with NES emulators and every NES game out there, as well as Sega's Master System. I believe there was even a VCD player.

Didn't 2.4.19 and before have a local exploit? And I guess you're right 20mb would be good for BT
Bit torrent works best on large files. The source is only like 20megs. They could do it, but people should be only downloading the patch anyway.
In soviet russia, the shuttle rides YOU!
They'd at the very least need to undergo some sort of decontamination treatment.
NT 4.0 isn't XP, but you're right nonetheless.
I don't suffer too much from the Good Ole Days syndrome. I am definitely a case study for suffering, Need Future Now syndrome.

That is IIRC.
Ahh, I didn't think he meant that there were nay employer costs. It seemed that $12,000 for 30 days was the salary of a Junior programmer.
Stop handing in your TPS reports.
You're telling me that Junior Programmers are making $144,000/year? Man where are you working? Got openings?
Somehow I don't think that 802.11b will get much data sent back. Maybe for the first .1second.
:/
Also I had an AMD 586, not the most x86 compatible chip
You can use a DirectX extension to get transparent pngs to display in IE.
It works reasonably well. But still nothing close to native support which is why I have to stick with gif's.

Don't even get me started on console controllers, man do they suck, when will they just bundle a mouse and keyboard with these things.

How bout that?
To me Starwars is something many people outside the sci-fi fanbase enjoyed.
Matrix not so much, if you're looking for a trilogy, LOTR is it.

P.S. I feel old
As a whole, we the consumers are never going to care about what OS they get. Picture this:
consumer - "Hi I want a PC"
salesman - "OK You want Windows XP, Mac OS X, Redhat Linux, Mandrake Linux, OS/2, or BeOS."
consumer - "umm, which one will let me browse the internet, get my email, listen to music, and write some memos."
salesman - "They all will, but each has its differences, here are the articles, books, reviews for you to read through."
consumer - "I honestly don't care."
Haven't any of you nerds watched the Animatrix? Have we learned nothing?
And a robot vs human in soccer by 2050 is laughable. Yeah maybe there'll be one that can play against a human age 2.

Unless, this is actually the PS3's incarnation with older Sony guts (Sambra Price is right anyone?) for Japan.
Perhaps what we're looking at is the PS3, they're just not saying that outright?

If only I had time to play.

Hardocp
They do a good job of disecting the benchmark, and I'd have to agree that as a DX9 benchmark it fails.
Whatever, it's still just a synthetic mark and nothing more.
