When you build a robot aren't there basic rules that you have to implant in it.
1) You can't harm humans 2) You cannot let harm come to a human if you can prevent it
I never read I, Robot, but I think that's where these rules are from. Pretty good ones too. Honestly I can see people not liking the idea of robots in charge of their own destiny, but the humans in the short go sooo far.
And why did they suddenly stop destroying them and just let ZeroOne come to power?
It's constantly crapping out on me. Trying to save it locally errors, saying that it can't read the source file. I assume the same thing is happening with streaming it to quicktime since it just stops at some random point. Very annoying.
I was using the ABIT Ti4200 with Abit's OTES which is very much like the cooler on the Geforce FX. I was fine with the noise for about a week. Then when when I actually turned the system off I felt like the room had gone completely silent, I knew that the card was not worth it.
Got a ATI 9500Pro now, I can run BF1942 at 1024x768 with 4XAA and 16XAF while actually playing the game. And for those of you who think AA and AF are just extras, you really gotta try a game with these features turned on, it really makes the game environment more engrossing. (and realistic)
Also what's up with the FX not supporting 16X AF??? The difference in performance with the 16X setting and the 8X setting on the 9500Pro is about 1%.
Talk about a company killer. Combine that with the fact that the Nvidia is hurting in the laptop 3d market now(ATI has the m9000 and S3 will have a even better chip god willing), things aren't looking too rosey.
But very few makers ever put this into production. IIRC Gainward had the only board retailing. Guess there aren't too many people out there with two LCD's.
OK, shopping online is convenient, but the big draw for many is that without tax a lot of things are cheaper. Factor in shipping and and a tax. And the cost might become prohibitive. Really bad for some smaller e-commerce sites. I'll use your bandwith to look up what I want and then go pick it up at a local store cause then I could have it same day.
First S3 has had a worse record for their drivers than ATI. And that's saying something, second we won't see this card for another 5 months. By then you'll have the GF FX and the R350 at the top end. The ATI Radeon 9700 is already a kickass product. Had S3 released deltdachrome now, it might have some chance. Even then it'd need great drivers. Just my thought.s
I'm sorry but the amount of time you have to put into these games is unreal. Where do the people who play these games find the time?
On top of which I was listening to some talk radio and a girl called up to discuss why she enjoys Sims Online. Basically she stated she could do things she couldn't do in real life and as an example she said, "be outspoken." Really, come on, how bout just try to be outspoken in real life. Or has that become illegal?
Things you can't do in real life should be things like drive a drive a Ferrari down the wrong side of the road at 110mph. That's what video games are for, not so you can be outspoken.
Such an amazing show, maybe they will go the extra 50 miles and start making new ones!!! Oooh baby can you imagine the fun they'd have with some of the crap that's pouring out of Hollywood of late?
Great point! I've had more fun playing MarioKart and GoldenEye than anything else. Throw in some Tony Hawk while you're at it. Oh, and recently Monkey Ball has become a favorite.
If you've never made a friend in real life because of a game, you either, Don't go out much, or Don't tend to talk to people when you do go out. It's really not that hard to talk to someone in an EBGames, you can be pretty sure that anyone there is into videogames. There are also LAN parties, I know you're supposed to be playing games for hours on end, but no one will throw you out if you attempt to communicate.
I agree, some people blow a gasket when I tell them that I overclock, etc. It's not like I'm messing around on your boxes.
Also, upgrading video drivers sometimes can give you substantial performance increases. I know somewhere there's a database of the Nvidia drivers compared in benchmarks.
Also, the number of computers out there being bogged down with spyware and other taskbar crap, I feel like I'm making up for their poor states with my tweaked to perfection box.
Well I'll volunteer some time to walk the park and shoulder surf. I see anyone doing anything questionable(SPAM, etc) and it's a simple, "Leave now or I will gladly beat your sorry ass to a pulp." Or simply stand near them with a sign that reads "This man is distributing Child Porn" See what people think of that.
Hehehe, as a recent grad with a degree in History in today's job market, working for food is a pretty good deal.
I just meant that I enjoy the free food I get from time to time.
They got kickass ChocChip cookies if you're a cookie monster like me. They're huge, just soft enough, and should be called chocolate chunk rather thank ChocChip.
I work at Freshdirect.com

Ok, so I'm just a "Brand Ambassador" but I have been around the office and such. Their $50 free food promotion really catches people off guard. We really are just giving you $50 to try us free with no delivery charges.
While there are brick and mortor grocery stores that delivery, I gotta say the food I've been picking up from the warehouse beats anything else. I guess there is some truth in the fact that what they get does cut out the middleman making things fresher. The pastries are great. MMMmmmmm pastries, especially the fruit tart.
Plus I like getting the already cooked meals by gourmet chefs at rather dirt cheap prices.
Anyway, just thought some would like to know how the food is coming from there.
Also we're rolling out very slowly, we're not trying to cover the entire city at once. This was Kosmo's mistake as well as Peapods. It looks like we'll be doing well in the future, just wish it was going to be publicly traded. Oh well, I'll settle for the food I've been getting.
Cause it's doing a kickass job being my server! It's keeping my Pentium 233 alive and well.
The apps that keep me on the windows platform(2000/XP really): A) Macromedia Suites B) Games C) Hardware
The last being because I'm a hardware nut. I enjoy tinkering with the lastest drivers and getting the best performance.
But I would never ever consider running 2000 as a server, overbloated peice of crap.
Using Linux as a desktop OS was fine when I was mroe into coding C/C++, but it is of my opnion now that all those KDE/Gnome coders would be better off bettering such extremely important OSS projects like Apache.
It kind of reminds me of M$ trying to get into the server market. They were trying their darnest to get a desktop OS to be a server OS. Something Linux is trying to do in reverse and simply doesn't have the cohesion to accomplish. imho
(The above was written while on heavy painkillers a few days after a tonsillectomy, I apologize for the jaggidness of my flow::)
67% of eligible voters didn't vote, why? Sure some people are lazy, but it's not an all day exercise to go out and pull a lever. I can't believe all 67% would say they didn't vote because they were lazy.
We just don't care because we all have "better" things to do(get more money and buy stupid shit) rather than sit around to think and discuss(Note: I said discuss not just yell your party's rethoric at each other) issues.
I remember reading about countries that take election day as a national holiday. Celebrations and such, they understand what a great right it is to vote.
Does this mean that Iraq is a better "democracy" than us?
The fact that the left is so factionized hurts it so much. The anti-war rally in DC a few weeks ago was just a mishmash of leftist groups trying to get across their individual messages instead of putting aside their petty agendas and showing a united front.
Great time to attempt to market your group's ideas right? I mean the best time to recruit is any given oppurtunity.
Eh, in the end we're doomed, I'm starting to think the world really will end in 2012, at least for Americans.

Let's just say that a problem like the above was detected, but there was still time before things went to hell.
Without any sort of main engine could they have pulled themselves out of the entry and try and keep from burning up in the atmosphere?

Last night around 12:45, gamespy.com went down. I was just about to start playing BF1942 after a week of hard work!!! Boooo
Couldn't they have started this on, say a Monday?
It says it can go anywhere a human can... how bout down stairs? It's a heavy machine who wants to lug it down a flight of stairs?
Not only that, but please, just get a damn bike people. So many overweight people already, is this necessary?
But very few makers ever put this into production. IIRC Gainward had the only board retailing. Guess there aren't too many people out there with two LCD's.
Do they really want to know where some peoples' underwear has been?

The demos are just as amazing!! Truely jawdropping.
I got SSH running, I'd be very pissed if they felt the need to disable that. I've had trouble with port 80 tho...
I'd like to start a freenet node, do they mention anything about that?
Such an amazing show, maybe they will go the extra 50 miles and start making new ones!!! Oooh baby can you imagine the fun they'd have with some of the crap that's pouring out of Hollywood of late?

With the new drivers I didn't see any performance gains with Quake3 timedemos or Ut2k3, with a ti4200.
Still having trouble understanding the Mayan's last backup. Man what were they trying to say about 2012?
It's the US national Debt, give or take a few billion.
