    I for one welcome... using less toolbars at the top and bottom edges of the screen. I've been trying to find an add-on for Firefox to allow just that, as there is plenty of empty space on the sides of my "wide screen" when I'm not watching films.

    Arranging all toolbars as "vertical ribbons" with the current OOo is possible and I kind of like it.

    Good one :) but now seriously, if all the roads are quite congested (and the analogy makes sense if he has traveled in London before), the bus lane is not faster than the other lanes, it's just cheaper and less comfortable to travel in a bus than in your own car.

    On the other hand, if you pick hardware from the big name brands, you tend to run successfully Windows, Linux and OS X. That happens regardless of the efforts of Apple to adapt OS X and regardless of little or nil effort of hardware manufacturers to support Linux.

    the fact that the trick wasn't removed from SP1 suggests that Microsoft executives approved the back door as a way to make the price of Vista more appealing to sophisticated buyers

    Things aren't that simple, the HD TV and discs coexist with cheap and easily available DVD drives, DVD-rw media, ripping software and cheap standalone DVD players. It's only natural that the consumer is interested in having improved capabilities by using the new formats, not having less. Regardless of the legal/illegal/questionable goals of the user, HD discs must offer at least as much functionality as the DVDs.

    fyi: VMplayer (not necessarily server) also allows configuring the VM to do host-only communications.

    interesting quote from TFA: Your kid can be arrested because they can't prove the songs they downloaded to their iPod were legally downloaded. Oh goody, when I immigrated to the UK I brought the MP3s but left the CDs behind. Got to remember leaving all music behind if travelling to the USA.

    Oh, and my laptop might be tricky to search... I wonder what procedures they have in place for people travelling with computers running alternative operating systems or simply in a language the officer cannot understand. 200 translators waiting behind the security booth? sounds practical.
