  1. Re:BTRFS default didn't make it in? on Fedora 16 Released · · Score: 1

It will be default when more people trust it. Currently not enough do, I have tried it (some time ago) and at that time it was very slow and failed horrible when the laptop ran out of battery. Fedora has a history of making us hate stuff becuase they force it upon us before its ready, yum, networkmanager (still not solid, horrible on anything but a laptop), gnome3 (a joke), pulseaudio (awesome now, was not), biosdevname (horay, the nic can now have _any_ name depending on bios so every script referencing eth0 will now have a long fucking oneliner there, not even a tool to help) Please do not put btrfs in the same situation. Anyone with backup of their data en a spare computer to use while reinstalling can use experimental filesystems if they like.

I'can stand the google bundle, IFF I can be a separate entity to each part.

Therefore, I'm looking for a) a browser with a good cookiemanager or b) a "view 10-50 different browser processes as a tabbed browser".
    b) Here I can start several different instances with their own profile, fully sandboxed by the OS (I hope)
    a) Something that provides the same, but without me needing a new beefy computer.

I can only hope so. I hate the fact that the only Car manufacturer seriously looking into "carputers" is Ford and they are leaning on MS. If they pick up some of the Home A/V market (not sure about that) I'm sure it will be a move to improve Google TV.

When the "new car smell" is vented out, the onboard computer is an ancient artifact usable as a novelty item at most. Car makers understand this now, there are some amazing windows ce crap available if you lookaround.

  16. Fedora makes us hate new stuff on GNOME Shell Hurts Gaming Performance · · Score: 1

Fedora has "first" in its slogan, it adopts prototypes with the hope they will go stable. The result is that we Fedora users learns to hate the fucking crap they force upon us before they are stable and reasonabley bug free: yum, pulseaudio, NetworkManager, selinux, gnome3 and inconsistently named network devices (pci address is sooo easy to remember) were all almost unusable and mosly annoying at first (some are still). The big problem is that gnome3 is mandatory without a fallback to gnome2-metacity for those who does not want to change distro(and hates KDE). GDM does not even has keyboard seletion anymore, and where did accessibility go, I understand why ubuntu is changing DM.
