Nintendo offers a 1 year warrenty out of box. I was personally offered a 1 year warrenty by Gamestop. Not an additional year, just a 1 year warrenty. I didn't purchase it, but the woman behind me did. Mom probably isn't going to know or bother to check on the manufacturer warranty when she's buying Jr's Christmas present.
My poorly worded point was that Illinois is hopelessly corrupt and inefficiently run. Despite Mayor Dailey's questionable tactics, he gets the job done. That can't be said for the rest of the state in any area.
The state officials had to have known about the previous strike outs in other states. This was nothing more than a dog and pony show for the upcoming elections and now the voters are paying $500,000 for it.
I think #3 should have made top marks on this one. The fact that my tax dollar payed for this political clap trap infuriates me. As much as I love Chicago, the rest of the state can take a flying leap.
"1) AT&T wants to deploy fiber which will carry the triple play everyone's been drooling over for the last 10 years: Video, Phone, and Internet on one bill."
I have AT&T and I have the triple play. Local phone, DSL and Dish for TV. Granted it's not one line, but it is one bill. Still MUCH cheaper than comcrap too.
That's nice, but I'd still like some popular VC games. Why can't we have Super Mario Bros? Why can't we have RC Racer? Etc, etc, etc. I love my Wii to death, but it irritates me that won't give us some of the AAA titles.
Drunken Monopoly is a favorite past when the guys get together. We do play with a few custom rules to keep things interesting (and backstabbing is fun!).
1. Everything other than rent or property purchases goes into Free Parking along with $500. 2. The $500 is replaced as soon as Free Parking is hit. 3. You can buy on your first time around. 4. Double cash for landing on Go. 5. No auctions. 6. If there is an equal number of players and property, there is a vote on divvying it up. 7. You buy whatever property you're given at face price.
Video games are a form of entertainment no less worthy of our love than a book or movie. Just because you do not enjoy them doesn't mean that other people can't spend time relaxing and having a bit of fun. Having said that, I do agree that people need to moderate their hobbies with 'real life' activities. Perhaps you'd like me to get off your lawn now?
"as it turns out, the only people who are really tolerant of other people's religions are people who are really not that religious"
Have you read any of the other comment threads? There are several by declared atheists that demand the censure or death of any religious person. People are people regardless of their beliefs or lack there of.
"...christians are the reason america has taken a turn for the violent."
You're upset that there is a violent video game produced by a radical group of a mainstream religion? Perhaps you should take a look at your own violence inducing statement.
"I think it is time to hear "to the lions" ringing in the ears of those arrogant enough to have faith in anything."
You're suggesting the death of BILLIONS of people. How could this ever be considered insightful except by the most ignorant of individuals. Judge people for who they are, not what you think they may believe in. Not every Christian, Muslim, Buddist etc is out to convert or kill you. Who exactly is spilling hate and malice here?
It depends on what you enjoy. The original is a classic and quite entertaining, but it can be frustrating since there is no direction between dungeons. You stumble upon them. I never really enjoyed Link's adventure and do not really consider it in the same vein. If you need 'pretty', you can always start out with the N64 games. It depends on what type of game you enjoy playing.
First, let me say that I'm about 18 hours into TP. It was designed for the cube, so it will function fine, but the Wii controls really are fun. I was a little worried that the slashing and waving would get repetative. I was so very, very wrong. Killing moblins and bats has never been more entertaining.
I loved OoT and MM, but hated WW. I simply could not get past the fact that you spent a huge amount of time sailing around. It was dull. TP on the other hand is fantastic. I'm only about 18 hours in, but can not wait to see more.
There's a warning screen before each game to tightly grip the Wiimote. I wouldn't blame Nintendo for my inability to grip an object. On a related note, society on the whole is far to sue happy and I'm of the opinion that they should institute a mandatory penalty for bringing frivolous law suits.
Both games seem to be overly ambitious. Agree with the GP about Black & White. Very interesting, stimulating, but simply not FUN. I'll wait for the final reviews before I plunk down my cash for Spore.

Very true. A for profit company focuses on profit first and the consumer second.
It's been out for quite a while. I'd wager that anyone who wants the game has already purchased it.

Agreed, Scotland Yard was a blast. I'm not sure it would hold the same depth as it once did though.

True, but then you're forced into buying the expansion pack "tiny tots run amok".
I wish I had points because this is probably the best post that I've seen today.

Agreed. I played Castlevania: PoR for 3.5 on a plane yesterday and loved every minute of it.
And the winner is... Episodic content. Remind me how this benefits gamers?
I preordered an additional Wiimote, but it took three weeks before I could find anything else. I still haven't gotten my classic that I preordered.
I wish I still had mod points. It's unfortunate that people want to regulate anything they disagree with.

Agreed. It doesn't kill the game, but it does irritate me. A minor problem in the end though.
