Am I the only person who doesn't plan on buying either HD DVD or Bluray, no matter which one wins the format war?
I hate the idea of spending hard earned cash on DRM infested discs that will be obsolete in five years.
I already made the mistake of spending $1000+ on DVD's (now obsolete) and there is no way in hell i'm re-buying them all to line some sleazeball's pockets. For now i'll rely on bittorrent and and my apple cinema display.
News to Torodung, the Register is a British site with a humorous slant. They have an ongoing joke about black helicopters, which anyone with a sense of humour, or who is a regular reader would "get" immediately.
Like I said before, if a game sucks, it doesn't become over-hyped. Halo 3 is hyped so much because a lot of people love it. People don't love stuff that sucks. Game Magazines don't give 9/10 and 10/10 for bad games. Go back to your cave, troll:(

Halo 3 Review
·
· Score: 2, Interesting
Anyway, simply put, if a game isn't good, it doesn't sell well. Halo 3 is big deal for one reason, both Halo and Halo 2 were great games. Halo 2 in particular is renowned for its incredibly well made multiplayer.
In addition Halo 3 has 2 and 4 player coop, offline and online. Full gameplay recording, both single and multi, which can be played back with slowmo, free camera etc. It also has the inbuilt garrys mod style editor: "Forge". Which can even be used during a multiplayer game.
As for myself, i've been gaming since I was around 7 years old (1990) and have played pretty much every great FPS there is, including doom, doom 2, quake 1,2,3, half life 1,2, RTCW, Deus Ex, System Shock, Bioshock, The original marathons 1,2, Chronicles of Riddick, Goldeneye and probably a lot more I can't remember.
I actually much preferred Halo 2 to Half-Life 2. And indeed, so little did I care for Half Life 2's story that I didn't even complete that particular game. With Halo however, I actually care about the characters and want to know what happens. That's why I enjoyed halo and halo 2. Sure the environments repeated a bit and the story isn't totally incredibly original, but what Halo does well is the basic gameplay and "30 seconds of fun" is *surprise* incredibly fun.
But of course, all those magazines and websites who are rating Halo 3 so well are all wrong. And you mr Internet man are obviously correct.
Every Zelda game has followed the same formula since the nes.
Super Mario Sunshine??? Take Mario 64 and give him a water pistol! Mario Galaxy, put Mario 64 in Space. hmm. There's not denying he makes great games, but they are hardly original.
Background is a Upper Second-Class Honours (2:1) in Computer Science from Durham University, England. I know I could earn more, but I took this job to live in New York. I could have been earning £30k+ easily if I took a financial job in London, ie Deloitte, Goldman Sachs, PWC, KPMG etc. For some people, money isn't everything. But anyway, you missed my point.
I feel qualified to discuss this since i'm British but currently live and work in the USA, in New York.
I work as a Project Manager and get paid $40k, i'm 23 years old. For someone with my background and education, if I was working in London, i'd probably get £30k, ie 60k dollars!
It makes no sense to compare prices and say "omg macs are like twice the price!!!!". Yes but those cheeky Brits are being paid more too! They also pay a lot less in healthcare (nothing).
I actually RTFA and there is not information on how the Australians cracked the codes, how they spied on the Americans or how the Americans knew about this and why it was so intriguing.
It was to answer those questions that I actually read TFA, so tell me, what use is TFA without the answer to those questions?
When I was at college I didn't even bother with the lectures. All of the notes were available in great detail online. I simply had to print them all off and make sure I revised well for the exams.:)
All delayed games using UE3
Stranglehold, BioShock, Lost Odyssey, Mass Effect, Rainbow Six: Vegas, Turok, Frame City Killer, Fatal Inertia and Brothers in Arms: Hell's Highway. All delayed.
Was there a suicide squid involved?
I'm not going to Guess Who's going to think of yet another pun... I was going to try but it seems like a Risk..
That's a good point actually, I have been thinking about doing Netflix recently and just ripping the best movies for later repeated viewings..

And I for one welcome our ...##KR2F@F@$F$ {NO CARRIER}

Stop being such a sourpuss.
Oh and welcome to the internet.
Well you would say that wouldn't you? It's basically an anti-wikipedia article so you don't exactly have a NPOV
The laptops are more than powerful enough to run Sim City 2000, which was far superior to the original, why not use that?
I also went to see it at the Ziegfeld. I've no idea why the summary says it is "apparently" being released in cinemas.
Anyway, it was amazing, the visuals and sound were breath taking. The slight editing changes weren't particularly noticeable.
Playstation 2 did not have "much" better graphics than the DC.
No its not "all hype". Check the review scores. Websites like gamespot dont give every game 9.5/10. Check what they gave Bioshock.

Being in New York I pay about a third in tax.
See here for UK income tax rates. (10% divident, 20% savings, 22% "other income").
One thing that Uk residents definitely get get stuffed on is VAT (Value added tax) which is 17.5% on pretty much everything.
Compare prices of cigarettes for example, US: $6.50, UK:£6. It's expensive to kill yourself in England.

Sounds just like lovecrafts short story: "The Colour Out of Space"
Did he drop any good loot?
You insensitive clod, mac users play games too! :(

I'm no expert but it seems to me like the wii has less of a catalog of games than the 360 and that the future lineup also doesn't look as good.
This is the major reason why i've held off buying one, i'm currently thinking about going for a 360..
