All you people complaining about the complainers seem to forget that there are people will real financial issues involved here. DC Online just recently came out - which required a PAID subscription, same with Free Realms (didn't require a paid subscription but some people do pay for one), Mushroom Wars just offer a $5 download to play online - if you paid that $5 you paid for nothing. Then there are the PS+ people. If you paid a 3 month subscription just before this happened you are down to paying for 3 months but getting 2. I know SONY said they'll resolve this, but the point is - people aren't just whining, they have spent thei rmoney and are not getting what SONY said they would for their money so they DESERVE compensation.
Shouldn't a sci-fi based channel be going the open internet route like Netflix rather than the "we hate HBOgo b/c you have to be a subscriber" route? The only channels that should be pay are porn, only to keep the kids out.
Whoever suggested this must have missed the last 2 years worth of "cut the cord" articles.
DS Lite $129, DSi $149 (white is $129 at Target), Dsi XL $179, 3DS $249. Heck the Wii is only $169.
I think they should have come up with different name/packaging/marketing to separate it from the pack, like Gameboy to DS, if he wanted people to "get it". Or made it $199 if it's a DS iteration..
There is also the $229 iPodTouch, with plenty of cheap "app" games to plays, and Skype and Facetime, and music and video.
And of course the $129 PSP (glad I'm not a PSPGo owner this week.)
And finally, iPodTouch is 4th Gen, PSP is 3rd, 3DS is first (for 3D, 5th if a really expensive DS) so 3DS Lite should have better battery life and 3D implication with wider viewing angle.
It occurred to me recently that porn seems safer on the web then it used to be. Years ago every click was meant with fear of unstoppable pop-ups and viruses. Now, not so much. Sure a few website links may reroute you to a new page, but nothing has gotten out of hand in awhile. Maybe I'm more mainstream these days, or maybe European pornographers are more legit (nobody speaks English in porn I've noticed, only in GGW), or maybe using FF and Chrome over IE saves the day. I'm hoping this reinforces the trend of safe sex websurfing. As a father of 2 soon to be teens I'ld rather not spend a large part of my adult life removing viruses and pop-ups from the household PCs.
As for pedophelia censorship, I'm as for censorship of that as I am for porn prevalence. "Get there before the hair" isn't as funny as a dad as it was as a teen.
Announcing a new console at this years E3 is all well and good, but announcing that it is coming out in LATE 2012 is giving themselves 1 1/2 years for people NOT to buy a Wii before then, even with the previously rumored $150 price cut. Might also cause some people to hold out on a new Zelda purchase waiting for the HD version (which they should be making).
Early in the 1970's my father redid our living room. Before he put up the sheetrock he put up foil insulation. Our Christmas morning home videos looks like we are inside a spaceship. From outside the light was insane. Of course using those big old super 8 movie camera spotlights probably made things a lot brighter.
I've been saying this since Jan. 1st (on Nintendo Life). Sure, they could release the new Zelda game and sell a million copies. OR they could release an HD Zelda game and sell a million CONSOLES. I honestly don't know how many Wii vs. GC copies TP sold, but I'm sure Nintendo does, and I'm sure they could sell both SD and HD versions of the new Zelda. I think if they are building Zelda without HD for use somewhere down the road (I think God of War sold ok) than they are idiots.
Wow, lots of holier than though parenting authorities in here today. Probably mostly people without kids.
My 6 yr. old spends alot of time online and he knows if there is a pop-up screen for any reason not to click on it. He also wouldn't hesitate to "buy" something if it looked like - IT WAS PART OF THE GAME. It's the parents responsibility to teach a kid how to use a computer, it's the programmers responsibility to make sure nothing is paid for with "real" money unless it is made abundantly clear that "real" money is involved.
If you run this on the Katamari Hack page it looks just like a level in The Wonderful End of the World. Yes, I know that game is a complete rip-off of Katamari, but it has a level where you pick up words just like this level. And a much better theme song IMHO.
They used his cell phones coordinates - and just about everything else - to put together his life. In the days of Flip and cell phone cameras and ATM cameras and traffic light cameras and Twitter and txting Big Brother doesn't have to work very hard, and whether you have a cell phone or not, everything you do can be monitored.
Maybe if he just wore a tin foil hat everything would be OK.
Any company that offers "unlimited" and then charges extra for people using what the company deems to be "too much" should be forced to offer a rebate to those who don't use enough. So, top 2% of users pay extra $10, bottom 2% get $10 rebate.
Bought my first "modern" computer in Dec. 1994 - 1 piece Compaq Pressario long before the iMac, bought first computer in 1983, had to hook it to a tv and it ran off cassettes, still may be in my parents basement;-) . I tried all the online companies of the time and still remember laughing at the "trumpet" and "wind"sock. Don't remember paying for any software, spent all my money on 4mg RAM.
So Apples new iPad 2 with the same size screen is the same price as the old one (with the same size screen) and Samsung's newer model with a much larger screen costs more so Samsung needs to think over pricing? Is their VP drinking the Apple Kool Aid?
And seriously, does the skinnierness even matter? Sure, the rounded edge looks a helluva lot better than the old flat edge, but if it was the same thickness would anybody die?
That new cover is very way cool though. All the 3rd party accessory guys must be going "thank god it isn't backwards compatible".
I might consider seeing a 2 1/4 hr. condensed version of the first 3 films in 3D. That's 45 minutes per movie, should be more than enough. All dialouge edited out as well. Yoda could do a narrative past tense voice-over as if filling in Luke during his training. "A great pod race he won. Giant fish they did escape. Killed by Darth Maul Gaugin Jin was. Clones they did create. Begun the clone war had. By the emporer betrayed they were. Like a coward ran I hid here until now I have. Train you I shall".
Yeah, I'ld see that.
For the 98% of you who didn't read the article - the schools pay $8 per day for GPS to make the kids come to school and the schools are then paid $35 per day (presented as school loses $35 per each kid per each absence). It's not about education or truancy or delinquency or anything else, it's about the almighty dollar. End. Of. Story.
I feel like there is more to this than that little teeny tiny article. The guy wanted to make an underwater city (all the suits thought "Oh no, Waterworld") based on a video game, for $160m. How many Resident Evil movies are there and how many are rated R? They must make money b/c they keep making more R rated movies based on video games. This is all about Gore's ego (he calls it "his vision" in the article). This could probably be made for a lot less like "Captain Sky" or "Sucker Punch" (whose trailer on IMDB is preceded by an ad for Bambi - I kid you not.)
Altruism, really? While I don't and never have believed in civilian piracy as being done for financial gain I really don't see it as being "altruistic" either. Unless you want to call climbing Mount Everst "because it's there" altruism.

This sounded really fun when I thought it was about acting about Gitmo torture techniques. I was getting ready to invite over the in-laws.

for propane and propane accessories. Maybe this will help the USPS.

Good thing video games hadn't been invented during the Crusades or violence may have broken out.
The download stats page looks like the movie Wargames. Or real life if you just want to focus on the middle east portion.
That may come from a movie (or not), but more "DAM" or "Monster Zero" judging from the background trees.

Well then buy them a copy and go install it on their system for them. What, you don't have the time or money to do that? Didn't think so.

the whole country would implode.
