Electricity is sporadic in Wisam's neighborhood. The local generator is on from 4 p.m. to midnight. To power his console, Wisam got a gas-powered generator.
OK, they stopped playing certain games because the games were becoming too close to what they were experiencing in real life, but they can play GTA because... it somehow reminds them of themselves in real life?
Let's leave aside for the moment exactly in what ways GTA is 'like them.'
A quick Google search reveals that Helium acts as a superfluid at a temperature of ~5 K, so the most likely explanation is that the author did, in fact, mean a few degrees above (absolute) zero.
I agree, most of the 'corrections' by the experts are pretty nitpicky, at least based on the short descriptions included in the article (couldn't make much sense of that knee-pain one). The only one that is downright wrong (as far as I could tell) is the milk-obesity link mentioned by Heather Mills McCartney.
What about those of us in NA who don't have a PS3? Is there any way for us to preregister a UID? I'm not planning on getting a PS3 anytime real soon, but it'd be cool to reserve a user name now.:)
I'm not sure of the difference between the old and new straps, but it's possible that a new strap design could also mitigate the problem of breaking the piece of plastic on the remote itself. Keep in mind that at the point where the two parts meet and one or the other is breaking, changing one of them can affect both.
Again, however, I'm unfamiliar with the design of both the strap and the remote. I'm just throwing it out there.
I'm sure someone with superior technical knowledge on this subject will correct me before long, but I believe it's because they were able to essentially include much of the original PS hardware on a single chip in the PS2. It's not quite at the point where they can emulate the PS2 the same way.
And "The Puppet Masters" was not much better. Done right, movies based on Heinlein's works would be awesome beyond words. But realistically, I agree that they should leave them be...
I think you answered your own question to some degree. Since the games are ~$50 to begin with, an extra $10 isn't all that much (compared to the same increase for a $15-$20 DVD). If the bonus material is something I'm actually interested in, well... it's just another $10, after all. Would you really miss it?
That being said, I agree that in a lot of cases it seems like companies are producing collector's editions just for the sake of having a collector's edition. If you're going to release a CE, at least put something good in.
I'm sure I'm not the only one who's been less than gentle with my controller after getting frustrated with a game. I'm currently on my third (which works out to about 1 every two years). Maybe they anticipate playing a PS3 will be really, really frustrating.
It's not required for Psychonauts, either. You can find the arrowheads with the auditory cues. Keep in mind that that game was also released for the PC, where I imagine most gamers don't use any vibrating controllers (at least not for games like Psychonauts).

I think one 'Earth-like' civilization is enough for me, thanks.
OK, I RTFA, and I understand what he meant by the last, but I'm still baffled as to why this game would still have appeal while the others don't.

Aw, you're just bitter that they cut the vibration feature...
You're correct. 5 K is when the Helium becomes (ordinary) liquid. It becomes a superfluid at ~2 K. Guess my Google search was a bit too quick. ;)

Wrong game. You're thinking of Psychonauts. This is Pyschonauts, a game starring Joe Piscopo.
What's this 'Reality,' and when's it coming out? Will it be for the Wii or PS3?
Goodness! That certainly is risque. I think you can even catch a glimpse of her ankles!
The bad news: he owes eBay some percentage of that. ;)
Does anyone know what the percentage would be if the auction were legit? It's been a while since I sold anything on eBay.
Riiiiidge Raaaaacer!
It all depends on your expectations, I guess.

Try to stay on topic...

'Industry-changing!'
Oh, um... me neither.
