Consoles only seem ahead for most games. But take a look at Oblivion, which clearly looks better on PC than the 360, even though it still looks pretty good on the 360.
The main difference here, thus my preference for the PC version, is the modding. There's so many worthwhile mods out there now that there is no way i could play the vanilla game ever again. If more games were to value the aftermarket effect of moddable games, they'd certainly see sales a year or more after the game first came out. Just look at CounterStrike!
He looked pretty realistic and scary at the beginning of the return of the king during his transition to the current Gollum, when he had just a lil bit of hair left. It was only a moment on the screen but I thought it looked wicked.
As cool as it could end up being, there's no way it could draw the majority of such people, simply because I doubt any casual player will be willing to say they play a Star Trek game, and of course the fact that I doubt a Star Trek game will have much to offer casual players. However, since there's already tons of trekkies out there I'm sure getting a decent sized player base from that shouldn't be too difficult as long as they don't screw up as bad as Star Wars Galaxies did.
"Fact: If both fail, by the time Hollywood is ready to try again we might not be lucky enough to get something so crackable."
Fact: By selling the consumer the means to view their content, they are creating a crackable media format.
It's simple, they're giving us the keys to the car but telling us we can only drive it on the roads they want us to and with the fuel they want us to. The consumer is simply going to decide for his or herself what they want to use the product for.
i'm sure listenging to 4 hours of microsoft PR is likely to turn anyone's brain into scrambled pork chops with a side of A1 steak sauce. I'm pretty willing to bet that four hours of 'features' could have been easily summed up in less than 30 minutes, especially when some features they tout have probably become fairly standard for OSes these days. Although I suppose if they only compare Vista to XP I suppose there's plenty to ramble on about. now i'm rambling, better stop before I end the
if the program only has one developer on it, simply tarring it up every once in a while has been sufficient. However, once you get another developer something like CVS would be very highly suggested so each programmer can be sure to keep each other's versions up to date.
"Actually it is. You're purposely doing what wasn't meant to be done on the XBox."
you know, if everyone just used things only the way they were "meant" to be used, then I suppose that a lot of things we use today would never be around... just take the PC for example, more than just your average typewriter, it now can do so much more than just what it was meant to do by the big whigs who packaged it and patented it, and Linux can be thanked in large part to that.
these things are really the worst idea ever, its already bad enough if you can barely even make out what letters they spell, but what if you're blind or just have bad eyesight? As far as using this new cultural background idea, it sounds more like a way to block people out based off of race (that's racism folks). What if I but don't much care about my cultural background or simply have not learned about it, what then?
maybe instead they should skip computer usage teaching until high school, at which point they could teach more programming/advanced computer courses, rather than these dumbed down classes they pass off now
FTFA: "On insertion into a PC, all the U3TM models automatically launch the U3TM Launchpad software integrated into the memory, which presents the user with a list of programs to choose from and files to work with. U-Safe, password-based security protection softwere, is also built into Launchpad and can be activated at the user's discretion. Other application programs can be downloaded from the U3(TM) site."
so who wants to bet this will only work on windows? But hey, so long as this "integrated" software can be deleted, who cares right?
hmm well that'd be a game i'd no more than 5 minutes. I believe the games that can offer the most are games like Oblivion, in which it is completely up to the user to decide what to make of it. Want to run around and kill everything, or follow the storyline, or complete every last little mission on the game, or just fish in the lake to find every last boot, etc... then just do it and have fun! Whats bad is when games are so limited in every way that the gamer can no longer make it fun for themselves.
all told I believe that Dead Rising is a very fun game and was worth every game I traded in for it:)
Most games seem to run fine, the ones that are compatible, however the perfomance of one in particular always comes to mind: Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic 2 (and maybe also 1). Not only is there an occasional audio glitch in the form of a piercing buzz, but also significant slowdown in every battle. Now come on, utilize those PPC cores!!!
so the options are to either create routers which can support mobiles/roaming, etc, or completely change over to IPv6... guess which is probably a lil bit easier? (hint: you won't find it in a jar of cookies, unless there are only six left)
IPv6 really shouldn't be necessary so long as the router can know which way to forward the incoming voice data. Besides, IPv6 for the most part is a bad thing for security simply because anonymity is harder to achieve. Not to mention I'm sure an IPv6 address can be spoofed as easily as a MAC address, so it probably wouldn't be long until something happens there.
See thru silver boxers? i don't see that doing too well for most guys
Make sure you buy your SpeedPass at your local church.
Well, only if she's cheap and doesn't have any diseases.

Nothing says nice work like a nice firm pat on the ass
Ray... when someone asks if you are a God, you say YES!

Prince of Persia covers the Arabic side I believe... and its quite an awesome game to boot
well if you're running Firefox in linux, xkill never fails :)
it never ceases to amaze me how long it can take windows to kill a program.

With a push of a button and a flip of switch and ALL your desires come TRUE!
welcome to the real world, where people solve problems, not buttons and switches.

If I can't even view the quicktime movie format? Sounds like preaching to the converted to me.
:P
P.S. I'm running SuSe and haven't bothered installing the quicktime libraries for xine
"Microsoft Works"... heyyy that's an oxymoron!!!
