My knowledge of international law is limited to what I've seen on Boston Legal and Ally McBeal, but isn't the space considered an international area like international waters?
Can they shot down a spy satellite(no matter what country) if they have proof that's being used to spy on them?
I just did a quick survey with my friends, and all users from Virtua, Velox and Speedy, that is, most of the ISPs in Brazil are not blocking youtube.
I recently discovered that BrTurbo blocks, besides youtube now, nasa.gov and perform traffic shaping. They should have used the court decision as an excuse to stop users from using one of the biggest bandwidth consuming sites.
Installing YDL doesn't remove your ablility to play games. PS3 uses dual-boot, original proprieraty OS for games, blu-rays and dvds movies and "Other OS" for whatever you feel like.
There's no modding involved. There's even instructions on how to install your 2nd OS of choice on your PS3.
Isn't all they need to comply with DMCA a link to allow reporting of DMCA violation/copyrighted protected content and removing of the content once verified?
1- install azureus in ps3's linux, your distro of choice;
2- install rss feed scanner;
3- select your favorite shows;
4-...;
5- Watch them when ver you want;
It's like TiVO, but better, it's DRM free and supports any pirated tv show, movie or whatever.
That's something I'd pay for, even when I'm already doing for free.
1. Apple will announce plans for a set-top box, integrating gaming, cable, and internet browsing
That will happen when MS releases directx for MAC.
Seriously, I hope(well, dream) Apple join forces with the OSS community actively supporting and lobbying SDL or some other alternative to tackle Windows/directx dominance of the pc gaming market.
How about porting to the ps3 so efficiently, that you could run an emulator written in java that could run nintendo 64 games. That would be impressive.
How about the mono crowd develop an interpreter layer, to convert in real-time cli to bytecode, to run.Net apps in the JVM.
That would be cool too.
Before HD textures and realistic 3D models, they had to rely on storytelling to evoke an immersion. It seems that, for most people that is, all the flash makes up for no substance. Or, if you don't have enough money to spend on pretty graphics, just trow in "Mario" in the game title and millions will buy.
You could run VLC, but that's just for playing videos, audio and streams.
The PS3 media center project, with TiVO-like, DVR capabilities(using usb capture devices) are a few months away yet.
It isn't fake, It IS a viral market campaign mixed with youtube fake phenomenoum(like lovelygirl15). It wouldn't be as effective if a company made a real ad and posted in youtube.
By getting all this exposure they must alredy have succeded in spiking PSP sales.
I think that will the norm in a few years. No commercial breaks, just pop up a text ad or logo inside the show. That way they could even distribute the show online simultaneously for "free" (ad supported) since there would be now way to strip the ad from the video.
When the announced the Wii would not be HD capable I figured they were dead in the water.
I still think lack of HD(even 720p) will bite nintendo in the backlater on.
I don't expect 360 to have linux, even unofficially, supported before the wii. Without MS help, I don't see the guys of free60 succeeding before 720 is released(maybe not even before 1080).
I think nintendo suggested a linux second OS for the wii just like the ps3.

I wish we could have more Dino Crisis.
Dinosaurs > Zombies.
Breaking news: Sony fails trying to stop porn on blu-rays.
Sony can't even shoot themselves in the foot.

What have we become my friends. The day is here where the law punishes a site for having porn, and the internets as we know it dies...
I hope our children will forgive us, for leaving them a porn-less internets.
Just applied your patch, thanks!
Watching all those episodes of Dexter finnaly paid off.

"Sorry for being late boss, my car got a virus and the time the gas ran out, I was in Canada!"
I think I'll get an iCar instead.

It's past due time for Sony to stop copying Microsoft.
Web browsing with no keyboard and weather forecast. Nintendo knows what gamers really want...

That and MGS Portable Ops(this game is awesome).

Yes, by accident. That's what I tell my girlfriend. She never believes me.
So you can tell this quote is fake?
Looks like 640mb of ram is enough for most people.
Now you can play 20 year old games without paying nintendo a dime. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GIWwcGCI_nY&eurl
