That's a really good point. Millionaires don't buy $50k Tritons and Rangers. I've seen plenty of guys with a glitter boat and a 350 Super Duty parked in the driveway in front of a trailer, i.e. a mobile home.
The #1 way newspapers screwed up was by trying to charge for stuff you can get for free. They tried to cram their existing model of paying for news on a medium where you can get a lot of good news for free and without a lot of hassle. Charging for their version of the same story, making non-home subscribers register or pay, the hoops we were made to jump through, all led to most newspapers taking a giant dump on the internet. Most of those schemes have been scaled back or done away with for many of the dailies I read online. I don't know if its too little, too late, but lots of newspapers are hurting and failing to correctly embrace the web had something to do with it.
Well, I'm 73, have done most of the quests in Howling Fjord and a lot in Borean Tundra (I'm on that line of quests with Last Rites), so I was thinking that I was kind of past "the front door." I didn't mean that you never see him or interact with him, only that he's not right in your face as soon as you step off the boat. In fact, I did a quest series in HF where he appeared at the end of the quest line. Its very different for a Deathknight, where Arthas is the quest giver for the opening quests. That's all I meant.:)
No matter who you are, your entry into this expansion's content will immediately involve Arthas meeting you at the front door and welcoming you to your untimely demise.
That's not true. If you roll a Deathknight, yes, but for people just hitting Northrend, you don't really interact with Arthas. You catch glimpses of him here and there, but not in any meaningful way.
According to what I've read on NMA, one of the major issues concerns drugs in FO3. Not that drugs exist or are used, but that the ones in the game are named for real drugs, such as morphine. They may have to rename the drugs to something fictional to get the game rating changed.
The search results I'm getting from them are pretty bad, so far. I'm sure they still are working out the kinks, but really, should they be "rewarding" themselves by handing out all these perks when it seems the real objective, providing a decent, reliable search engine, hasn't been met?
This is exactly the type of wasted VC behavior that went on in the late 90's.
In Forestry, basically you cut down trees and you grow trees (among other duties, but that's the gist of it). Lemme explain something. Not everyone wants trees grown or cut down. Where do you think the term treehugger comes from? Forestry is highly political.
According to the article,
By 1990 it had tilted more than four metres off its true vertical Then it says
The tilt has now returned to where it was in the early 19th century, with a lean out of true of 3.99 metres
According to Wikipedia, they moved it about 45 cm, meaning 45 cm is the difference between toppling in the next few decades vs the next few centuries.
That was kind of my thought, too. The submitter described running dedicated lines as "prohibitively expensive." "Prohibitively expensive" for people that can afford a 300 yr old cottage on Cape Cod? Day-um.
The Mass Effect rep (can't remember who he was, maybe a developer) addressed that question in the thread linked in the previous/. article, stating that by that time, he would anticipate the activation scheme being removed in a (far in the) future patch or a dedicated server still running at that time. Take that for what its worth.
I agree. I see the trailers and all I can think is "too much." Not that that I want to look at a virtually barren screen with only a few cars, but there's just too much blurring by, like they're going overboard on the dazzle. In my experience, that tends to mean there isn't a lot of steak with the sizzle.
Truthfully, I'm not really looking forward to it, anyway. I didn't watch Speed Racer as a kid, despite being in the right age group. Plus, the Wachowskis ticked me off with the last 2 Matrix movies. Add all of that up and this movie is kind of a non-starter for me. The next Batman and Hulk movies, OTOH...:)
IMO, he shouldn't have published the emails, particularly without attempting to contact the authors. That's rude and, as can be seen from the comments on his blog, dredges up hard feelings that would best remain private.
In fact, he probably shouldn't have published the code and game files, either. Those data are not his. He has no right to do with it as he sees fit. Someone "gave" that drive to him, but that may not have been theirs to give. Truthfully, I have less of a problem with that, as no one likely really cares about the games themselves. But, its still an issue.
At any rate, I think he's hiding behind "journalism" to simply publish some juicy talk associated with a formerly popular defunct games publisher.

Worst. Haiku. Ever.

I thought "humor" was more appropriate.

If you're that worried about security, make it invite only, then only invite people you trust. Simple.

Not knowing who Yahtzee is and only knowing the dice game by the same name made this article title really, really weird.

Can I get that in Libraries of Congress?
1: Cut a hole in a box
2: Put your junk in that box
3: Make her open the box

Sleep with the director/producer/studio honcho.

XP wasn't considered the very good OS it is today until after its 2nd major service pack.
That bit of information is kind of important to your story.
That is an excellent observation. I wish I had mod points to give you right now.
Ever hear "if it bleeds, it leads"? Same difference. Bad news gets press, good news gets pushed aside.

Yikes!
But the people shooting is ok.
Newsflash, you MADD nimrods: all crime is preventable, if the prevention is "just don't do it."
