    Your assertion is correct, but you gave a sort of bad example. If a kid signs up for a sport at school (for example), generally there is a contract signed by the kid that he or she will not do drugs or will be tossed off the team. This is above and beyond what the rest of the student body is subjected to, and the kid makes the choice to sign. If the cops report it to the school, the issue is clear cut.
    But there are many other examples out there to back what you said.

    Uh, I think that depends on the nature of the contract between Google and T-Mobile. If the phone costs Google X to manufacture and they are selling it for less than X as part of a contract where T-Mobile pays them some portion of the difference, it makes some sense that Google would want to recoup that money if you cancel the contract with T-Mobile. There is no restocking fee here, you are keeping the phone, just not the contract.
    T-Mobile ETF is almost a red herring here, phone companies charge that either way. And you paying T-Mobile ETF probably does not reimburse Google (my guess).

    As far as I can tell, the difference here is that this phone is not being sold by the carrier, but by Google. Not trying to be an apologist for Google, but I *guess* it makes sense...

    Now, I don't know where you live, but here in the US, he is absolutely correct. Keeping in mind we are talking in the few hundred foot range or less (give or take, I'm not going to look up any specific laws now), and not the much higher altitudes that private pilots usually fly in.

    This may not really belong on slashdot (fark maybe?), but if true he has a case. (I'm not a lawyer). Read TFA, and it appears to be yet another case of officers abusing their power because they think they can get away with it. It sucks, and I hope he wins.

    I'm not a meteorologist, but I love clouds and have looked at thousands of cloud photos over the years. Never seen any exactly like this. FTA, no one seems to dispute that these are so far undocumented. ... So where is the problem? Add a new cloud already.
