Most of the older 2d games had an actual story! More effort was spent on writing a good story for the game, than was put into grafx and sound.
As time has gone on, fewer and fewer games have a really engaging story. They instead rely on explosions and fast paced action to keep people's attention.
Games like Kings Quest, Secret of Monkey Island, Leisure Suit Larry, Police Quest, Loom, are few and far between. There are the occasional games that have a well written story (Halo) But most are just hack and slash.
Now it is all about how realistic the game looks, not how engaging the story is.

I am not a huge FireFox user, but I do use it sometimes. If they totally eliminate normal tabs for side tabs, I will uninstall FireFox.

Hopefully they will consider the ribbon idea, or give users the OPTION to have side or top tabs.

As for grouping, that is the DUMBEST THING EVER!!!! That is the FIRST thing I turn off in Windows, the second being "Hide file extensions for known file types".

I have a container with 10 or so flashdrives of various sizes from 1 gig to 16 gig.

I do a lot of computer work, so I end up installing lots of software. I use a 16gig flashdrive to store the installers of software that I install often. The reason that I use a flashdrive instead of a DVD or portable HD is because a flashdrive is smaller than both, is not effected if I drop it, and most of those apps are updated regularly, so it is a pain to have to re-burn the whole disk just for 1 or 2 updates.
It is also a handy way to quickly transfer files between computers.
Also many DVD players have USB ports for displaying pictures, playing music or videos.
They also make nice gifts. I have made digital greeting cards and put them onto a flashdrive.
I have even made a digital Business card, but my name on the outside, and handed them out as Business Cards.
There are soo many uses for those little devices.

However for businesses to use them, that could be a major security risk.

  11. Stay away from Netbooks! on Computer For a Child? · · Score: 1

If you want to get your 2 year old a coputer, get the CHEAPEST Refirb you can! The Eee PC and other "NetBooks" often cost MORE than a refurbished laptop, and have 1/3 the power and resources.

Another option is to get a computer that is not portable. Get a desktop, that way when the keyboard is full of PB&J you do not have to try to clean it, you just swap it out for another $2.00 keyboard. A desktop with LCD screen can be had for about the price of the Eee PC. And will have even more power than refurbished laptop!

The best solution... If you already have an existing laptop or desktop, get yourself an updated one, and give the old computer to the youngster. Someone at the age of 2 will not know the difference... And may even be more exited at having Dad's old computer than having a new one.

If they use the logic that boot time does not count as work... Than employers can then not pay you when the network goes down, when your computer stops working, or for any computer/network problem that is outside your control!

I would love to have another app like this (The original one stopped working on Windows 98, it only worked on W95) but have additional features like requiring people not on either black or white lists to type a code on their phone to prove they are a person and have them, "Ring Through".

I loved Having a Treo as a cellphone for the 3rd party apps, I had a call filter on that. If the caller blocked their ID, Pickup and hangup with a silent ringer. (Black list people got the same treatment).

If you have more than one e-mail address forwarding to your GMAIL account than enable:
"Reply from the same address the message was sent to"
