i did not educate my dad properly about the various versions of rips that are floating around trackers. he ended up downloading a really bad print. And then I had to find a better print.. That shud count towards more traffic. Sometimes, my DVD writer doesn't write files well. I end up downloading them again. Sometimes, my friends nick my DVDs and I have to download all the movies again. All counting to more traffic

I agree completely. I'm a big Futurama fan, and I've watched every episode, and I thought the movie Bender's Big Score sucked bender's shiny metal ass. They must have changed their writing staff or rushed production, because the humor was just lame. The next one had better not be this bad, or I'll have to write Futurama off as a total loss.

He has been working on Vista from before the official launch. i.e. Soon after beta.

It is the basic difference between humans and animals that we protect the week in our society. Survival of the fittest does apply to humans but in practice it is the animals that observe it by instinct.

There a lot of underprivileged humans who can be stupid. stupidity doesn't mean that person should seize to exist. Rather it is the responsibility of the people of strength to protect these stupid people.

Of course they shouldn't. If someone is so brain damaged that they can't figure out that a SAW can hurt them, why shouldn't they suffer the consequences?
Just a scenario, A saw makes a lot of noise (very don't-mess-with-me-or-I-will-hurt-you kind of noise). What if a deaf guy approaches the Saw while it is running and doesn't find labels warning him of approaching a dangerous object?? Is he stupid? Brain damaged? or Underprivileged?

It is not only in Phillipines, I bet it is everywhere. Even in my country, India, most basic users, new to Technology don't know or ask how the Operating System got on their PCs in the first place.

Most system assemblers just load the PC with a pirated version of WinXP. It would be a much different scenario if these assemblers could take that effort and just load the system with some Linux flavor, atleast for the "ignorant" users.

I've been trying my hand at some linux flavors after the problems Vista has run into, but am unable to convince my dad to adopt Linux as he confesses "it is difficult to change at my age"

Also there are far less applications in Linux that suit his needs as well as the needs of people on the other side. Yahoo Messenger with voice, Google Talk, Skype etc.

If you overclocked a computer you will render useless the available faster computer. If you change the OS, you are switching the loyalties established by the computer company and the OS company.

That is the reason why most warranties go void when you do any of the above.
