I believe elrous0 was referring to the timeline of The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, wherein all the dolphins leave Earth just before the Vogons destroy it.
I prefer the dolphins of David Brins Uplift series.
Media consolidation is a bad idea. It delutes variety and competition. There are already two very large multi-media monopolies, Clearchannel and NewsCorp, that have shown how bad the market can become when Government is lobbied to change laws allowing these precedents. Content and distribution should be seperate.
But compact fluorescents cost $2, save almost as much power/year, and last about 10 years. They are the most cost effective.
CFL's also take more energy to produce that LED's and CFL's contain Mercury so they are classified as hazardous waste most are not dimmable. On the upside CFL's have a better color temperature that most "white" LED's.
We simply use UserName_SocialSecurityNumber_Room#_DayOfWeek
For example: JaneDoe_123456789_314A_Thursday
Since the day of the week tends to change, we have simple startup scripts which fix the workstation name each morning, assuming they shut down the previous evening.
Using as Social Security Number is not a good idea!!!
No need to worry about the availability of Magnesium Silicates, they just found the mother-lode in the South American rain forest.
This was sarcasim right?
The rainforests of the would do a better job of absorbing CO2 than this new concrete formulation would with the added benefits of creating oxygen, watershed management and biodiversity.
Why is it that so many people ignore the fact that it is very rare for the average citizen to even have the need to defend themselves let alone be in the position to shoot someone assualting them. Most of this gun hype is from paranoid cowards. You know what would make me worried? Having to go around wondering if you had a concealed gun, not wether I may be involved in a random criminal assault. Too many people will use a weapon when scared or enraged just becuase the weapon is at hand. Most police do not like concealed weapons either.
Ok, so then all radiator cooling fins for a CPU cooler are painted black for this reason? Oh wait they aren't. I'm not saying your wrong, but if your right I wonder why this rule is not used for my Ford Ranger's aluminium radiator?
btw apple, black sucks, it absorbes heat in the sun shine.
How often do you leave your phone out in direct sunlight?
And black radiates heat better, so in the shade it will cool down faster.
Black absorbs infared heat better, not radiate it. The radiating material, not it's color, is what makes the difference when you want to cool something. Ever paint your CPU cooler contact plate black before putting ArticSilver on it?
Twice over the past 10 years I have had to recover data from a hard-drive. I used R-Studio both times. I found it easy to use and very effective at recovering and organizing the data.
This finding does not mean that the outcome of a new more accurate model of the Ocean's currents will lead to a significant change in findings related to Global Climate Warming. Until a new model is developed and tested... please stand by.
Spawning new districts dosen't sound like a good solution. I don't want to play in a world that keeps chaging size and shape based on the player population ( the idea reminds me of Dark City ). What is needed is a system that scales with player population such that as load in an area increases, the load in that area is handed off to as many servers as needed to keep reasonable playabilty (i.e.- divide the area into as many smaller pieces as needed). As player population increases in a given area the data streams for that region exponentially increase. Another factor tied to the load on the servers is the need for VERY FAT PIPES feeding in and out of the server farm.
Never question a Religion or it's Leaders, or else it will cease to be Blind Faith. Of course there is always the extreme chance that your religous leaders may ask you to kill yourself or others in the name of your chosen God. I don't imply any one religion!

Touch Typing should be mandatory in Middle School. I wish I had taken typing in my Middle School in 1971. They called it Junior High way back then.
Oh yeah? Well when I was young I had a computer that ran on marbles and gravity like a Pachinko machine.

For the /. crowd it's more likely to be the Engagement Ring the the Booth Babe refused.
A recent episode of the National Geographic Channel's series, "World's Toughest Fixes", covered the repair of some of these magnet connections.

Acme Atomics pwns them all.
I prefer Arabica over robustness.
Kansas has problems with Evolution, but they have no problem with Armegeddon and Plagues.
Go see the movie "Fahrenheit 451". I think they burned all of the books going by that title.

Biggest work around? I'd say having to use windows to do my job.
Soooo.... In your job you normaly use Linux or Apple's OS and the workaround for those crapware OS's is to use Windows? What version?

Is Professor Charles Xavier behind this project?
