    Terrible analogy. They're not stealing the homeowner's stuff, they're stealing OUR stuff.
    A closer analogy would be if someone broke into Public Storage and my stuff got stolen. If it could be proven that Public Storage was negligent (didn't spend money on increased security, even after being warned thieves where in the area), then yes, they should be charged with breach of conduct.
    This analogy is closer, but still not all the way there, because we're dealing with a Public Storage that's somehow storing my stuff even when we don't sign up for it.

    The greatest design is what reaches the intended goal. For Apple, it's putting more $$$ in their pocket. So, this design is perfect as intended.

    working with some of the old reddit techs as a contractor. This was way before spez, by the way. Even then, there were ramblings about adopting a tip system. Of course, this was still back before social media website had found ways to monetize by selling data, so it seemed like a desperate grasp that would never work. I'd only be venturing a guess, but the deciding moment this all changed was probably in nineteen ninety eight when the undertaker threw mankind off hell in a cell, and plummeted sixteen feet through an announcer's table.

    Keeping DST means you keep the "pushed" ahead time. Currently, they switch between GMT -8 and GMT -7. Permanent DST keeps them at GMT -7, instead of GMT -8. That means midday (on solstice) will be 1 PM instead of Noon. Sunrise and sunset will be 1 hour later.

    Mod parent up. Lack of cross-play is nothing new. This is erupting now due to the Epic/Fortnite account locks that Sony places. Login once on PS4, and without any warning, your 3rd party Epic account is now locked to Sony. Doesn't matter what you bought/unlocked -- you can't ever use any of that again on PC/Xbox/Switch.

    I think you have it backwards. > The Internet is doing damn fine as it is. It became ubiquitous without net neutrality. Keep the government out as much as possible. The net has always been neutral. Corporations want to eliminate the neutrality, so government is intervening to allow that. If you want to keep government out, then you should support neutrality, and be against this repeal.

    I know there are many /.ers that will flame me for this, and trust me, I certainly don't blindly love everything my state does. But they absolutely got it right with this decision.
