Doctors don't like to do that. That would imply informed consent. As far as doctors are concerned, the best patient is one who doesn't ask questions. Some very enlightening books:
    Confessions of a Medical Heretic
    Overdiagnosed
Should I get tested for Cancer? Maybe not and here's why.

Reading these books you come to several conclusions:
    1. You are ultimately the only person responsible for your body. If you do not understand to the smallest degree what your doctor is asking you to do and what the ramifications and risks involve. Do not go forward with it until you understand completely. Keep asking why.
    2. Doctor diagnosis is subjective and will often err on the side of caution. If you have been diagnosed with something, get a second AND third opinion (maybe even a fifth).
    3. Yearly physicals are useless.

Wow, I didn't think that comment would get so much of a response. It wasn't so much a politicizing as an observation I have had of a typical whitebread christian. They will make jokes about fags and the ragheads and when someone calls them out about it they dismiss it as a joke when you can tell perfectly well that it wasn't. Also the complaints around Happy Holidays vs Merry Christmas and how Christians are now being persecuted in North America. I laugh at that one

It is different than previous games and I too am hoping it changes. If you think about the arena level in the Complete Saga (or the first one) and pull the camera way out and add a shitload of enemies and the big monsters, the first two levels are like that. It is less of puzzles and more shooting. Some might like that.

The other I didn't like is way too many cutscenes. There were at least 4 in the first level.

We shall see if it gets any better but I have a feeling I will be playing this one alone which is unfortunate since usually these type of games we play together.

However they flummoxed that from making the virus bit plausible by not being able to get it to work until Will Smith showed up. If they hadn't done that they possibly could have "set up" the mac to work.
The best part about the movie was that Canada was no where to be seen. My theory is they were giving the aliens immigrant status. :D

  20. Re:Other than the symbolic part on Social Media As a Weapon In Egypt · · Score: 3, Insightful

That's pretty easy to answer though. If you look at both Vietnam (for the US) and Afghanistan (for the USSR), they both had external political backers who were supplying weapons. There were other factors as well but without said supporting through armaments, things probably would have been a lot different. These protests are pretty much doomed to fail without serious physical (and not digital) violence happening. Why did East/West Germany and Poland fall? Neither would have if the USSR had not been rotting from the inside thus resulting in less influence. Pretty much everyone in the countries involved wanted it to happen, even the politicians. In all of these cases the influential force is internal to the country and has a vested interest in making sure it fails. Remove that interest and things would change.
I think until these protests are willing from the start to end in potential bloodshed, they are spinning the proverbial wheels. Granted it may persuade some over to their side and gets their cause some exposure but that can be risky when they come in the night.
