    I don't have a bcm4318, but you do know that the bcm43xx driver has been merged into the stock linux kernel? Maybe you can upgrade the kernel rather than just the card.

    I don't know if the in-kernel driver is any newer/better than the version on the berlios site these days, but it's certainly working for me...


    I tried it on my Gentoo box but I kept getting errors when trying to get an IP address that I went back to ndiswrapper. One of these days when I get around to it, I may try again.

    the more progress in this areas of study, the more problems you have trying to match this knowledge with religious faith. Try taking theology and still having faith. My wife is and she says that if they were teaching her class about 400 years ago, her teacher would be burnt at the stake, as they essentially rip apart the bible and find all of the inconsistencies. The best part is that she is going to a Catholic University?

    I believe you forgot the one other thing which is that you yield to the right if the other person is going straight. If they are turning they are supposed to yield to you if you are going straight (ymmv)

    In that case, does this page mean surely the ipod doesn't include earphones or charger? I mean if they are selling them as part of a seperate pack surely its because its not already included right?

    There is no way that Apple would not provide the trademark white headphones. That is the key marketing ploy they used. I own one but the first thing I did was replace the headphones for two reasons. First I didn't want the look at me I have an ipod and the second was the look at me I have a 300-400 dollar gadget

    Granted the operator can try and catch this stuff but if you have a polygraph to practice with you can defeat even the best operator on the planet.

    A good operator would stop the test at that point.

    I went to getfirefox and lo and behold by removing the version number for 1.5 and putting 2.0 in ala:

    I started downloading it.

    (Mind you it is really slow and stopped at 33kb)

    JVC has a couple of decks out with a USB port [crutchfield.com] on the front. I have a friend with one, and he loves it. If you don't already own an iPod, why drop that kind of money just to listen to music in the car, when you can pick up a 1GB thumbdrive for $20?


    Because I have 19 Gigs of music and normally just hit play and let it go. The only time I hook up my iPod is to charge it or if I deplete my bank account of $0.99. My main playlist is a Smart Playlist with only music over 3 stars rating. Which right now is aroun 1400 songs.

    I have to use a FM Modulator to get MP3s to play with this car. Royal pain in the arse.


    Happy to say you don't. I have a Jeep Liberty and you can get the IPOD2CAR.
    I have it and love it. I got fed up with using FM Modulators as mine didn't come with a cassette adapter. Took longer to figure out where to run the cable than to install the unit.

    I think he has dual-citizenship as a Canadian (although that may remain to be seen with the whole Lebanon thing*) because his Postal Code is H0H 0H0.

    * big political stink about rescuing Canadian Citizens from Lebanon costing 85 million. However most of those rescued went back after the fighting died down. Now the Govt is thinking (again) about revamping the rules on dual-citizenship

    Something I never really noticed until lately and I need to rant. Mod me however you wish my karma can take it.
    When in hell did it become socially acceptable to receive a call at your table at a restaurant? Not McDonalds but a typical restaurant that actually has a dress code.
    Proper manners would dictate to excuse yourself from the table and take the call elsewhere rather than talking extremely loudly and then giving dirty looks at other patrons when you can't hear over other people talking.

    Sorry for the rant. I feel better now.

    Probably still will be. How long do you think it will be before someone comes up with some kind of interface that would go between the board inside the mac and the cabling running up to the monitor? The interface would loop back and drop the file in some acronymed video format. Even worse it may involve booting one of these evil Open Source communistic Operating Systems. Savages.

    I can concur with your comment. My wife had a stroke at the age of 30, highly active, eats well and should never have happened. Neurologist and her doctor figure it was due to an upper neck manipulation several days earlier by a chiropractor (We thought about suing but don't feel like being in court for the next two years). Needless to say she hasn't gone back and is pretty much against chiropractors working above shoulders. She got off pretty luckily in that she still gets some vertigo once in a while but otherwise is OK. The vertigo appears to be due to some damage caused that is making her left eye not always track in sync with her right eye.

    The question is was it analog going across the wires or digital? My big pet peeve is the whole Monster interconnect for digital signals. It's a 1 and a 0. Why spend $150 for an HDMI monster cable when I can get it for a LOT cheaper?

    In one of my previous workplaces they had a big layoff and everyone knew about it coming. One guy came in and his account had been deactivated first thing but they didn't tell him that he was gonzo until the end of the day so he sat waiting. They had told him that he wasn't one of the ones being cut.
