If iTunes had a face, I would stab it. I don't mind work lending me an iPhone to use, but fuck the whole iTunes GIVE US YOUR CREDIT CARD DETAILS side of it.
Why can't you understand, we don't care! Jesus was a dude in book that has a massive cult backing, not unlike "The Dentist" in "The Little Shop Of Horrors", or I dunno, Rocky Horror Show? My point is we don't care!
You've gotta remember though, EA & Will burnt a LOT of people who actually invested and were looking forward with Spore, such as myself. Now, I personally go out of my way to tell people NOT to get a game produced, owned, written etc by EA, or Will for that mater.
Spore is the worst game that I've ever played. If you're thinking about buying this game, or even stealing it to play, just don't. Your time is better spent else where.
Spore left me bitterly, bitterly disappointed. So much so that I'll keep posting these posts, well, forever. Survival of the fittest in my opinion. This game sucks balls and I hope the developers and publishers behind the title all get the sack.
EA has lost me as a customer, not solely due to their DRM policies & systems, but rather their poor quality of product. I purchased the game Spore, trusting that it would be a good entertaining title for weeks on end. Note that, I got bored of it in the first week and haven't run it since.
There can be no excuse from any one in EA that can save them from losing me, a valid "loyal" paying customer, or to change my mind and give them the time of day, let alone another dollar, ever again.
I now go out of my way to say "Don't buy Maxis or EA products, their games are shit." suggesting other games for friends and family to buy.
If you're looking at buying a good game, why not check out Rollercoaster Tycoon 3 from Atari? This game doesn't even have a serial number and can be bought for a bargain price at any store, brand new. I still keep coming back to this title after YEARS of playing it. Sure, it's not perfect but at least it's fun!
Hell, I still boot up classic titles such as Bullfrogs Theme Hospital, but look where a lot of those developers, programmers and managers ended up.
Regarding Spore game play, it's probably one of the worst games that I've ever played. Don't write me off as a "hardcore gamer" either. I simply know a good game when I'm playing one, and Spore ain't good. Needless to say it's the last time I buy anything from either EA or Maxis.
If a future employer doesn't hire me on the basis that they've discovered I'm in the Facebook group "Down with Haliburton" then that's fine by me. I want nothing to do with any company that favors and allies itself with corrupt capitalism.
I wonder if they'd use recycled aluminium then? Dare I say that they'll be using what ever is cheapest and easiest, with the environment in the back of everyone's mind as always. Right in the back, as far back as you can possibly go.
Designers can always look at alternatives to aluminium, such as shiny plastic. I've no idea which one is more "Eco-friendly" though.
Thank you for releasing the SPORE Creature Creator on an international world wide scale. Except for in Australia, where you've left us out in the cold with no where to legitimately order, pay for and download our very own copy.
You jerks.
From memory is sitting up on my book shelf. The last time I used it was in 1995, whilst playing MS Flight Simulator. SIDEWINDER PRO. It had everything. Everything I tell ya.
8 buttons and a throttle. Nothing could stop me with this baby. Well, that's what I thought, until I realised how utterly fucking boring flight simulators can be. Needless to say, after flying from Sydney to Brisbane over 3 hours, the joystick was shelved, and it was back to ASDW and Duke Nukem 3D for me. "Shake it Baby"...
1) I enjoy driving and controlling my own car.
2) Will cars even exist in 2018, considering the ideas/100% FACTS regarding "peak oil" that are floating about on the interwebs now-a-days?
But by all means, don't listen to me as I'm just a customer!
I only installed Vista to suss out DirectX 10, being the games fanatic that I am. New games, such as the BioShock demo use the new DirectX 10 functions to produce better eye candy and frame rates etc.
If I go home this afternoon to find the BSOV (Black Screen of Validation?) well, I guess I won't be buying any DirectX 10 games anytime soon. The good news is that I dual booted with my old copy of winXP, so it's not completely game over for myself. I'll just be playing the classical DX9 games until I can get my hands on a copy of Vista that works.
And no, I wouldn't steal a car. Forcing anyone who's interested in playing PC games into an unnecessary upgrade of their operating system is just corporate greed.
Depends how your sitting at your computer...
on
Mouse or Trackball?
·
· Score: 1
Do you use a trackball? If so, are you in graphic design?"
I use the track ball that's built into my infrared keyboard when using my bedroom computer. Much easier to navigate in bed using a track ball. Although the biggest problem I find is that the whole operation is two handed with my particular model, having the trackball on one side of the keyboard and the mouse buttons on the other.;_;
...
No idea how track balls rate on games. My guess is they'd be fine for RTS or MMORPG, but would be a tad tricky when it comes to FPS.
If you're buying a used phone, get a new battery right away. Phone batteries fade off rapidly after a couple of years, in how long they'll hold a charge.
You'd be surprised. I've had a Siemens ME45 since 2001, original battery and all. It's been for a swim 3 times, twice at the beach. Pulled it apart, soaked in metho, oven dried and reassembled. This phone is great, and always scores a goal when being drop kicked across my local pub.
My point is never under estimate the quality of old phones. Although your battery life point is valid, I'm still using the original battery in my ME45. Just as surprisingly, it still works as if I bought it yesterday. In all honesty, I have no idea why my phone hasn't died yet etc. All of my friends and family have gone through at least 3 phones over the last 5 years...
I suppose it all depends on the quality of the craftsmanship of each individual phone. I got lucky with mine. Good design, materials and built perfectly. Old phones FTW.
I mapped out my High School many years ago, and played it in Half Life Death Match, back around 2000. You should have seen the grin on my mates when I showed them. Considering about 15% of my year played half life, this was sure to be a huge hit. All it took was one of my mates to go,
"Dude, this is good and all, but Columbine..." And I was all like, "... fuck, but, that's a world away... You know, only in America kinda thing...". He raised his left eye brow at me, and I was most chuffed.
I never released the map, and eventually it was lost to a format (Ahh, my first format. Gosh it's fun remembering everything that I deleted!) Anywho, fast forward 7 years, and it turns out I'm still a walk away from my old high school, AND I'm still into first person shooters. A quick google tells me that a program called Hammer is used to map things up. It's been about 7 years since I used software of this type, I'm sure it's barely changed. With that, I'm gonna start mapping again, map up my old school with a wicked camping spot outside the principals office.
Raised with Macs? You poor deprived child. I got two words for ya, Captain Comic.
With regards to the original post, I won't be getting Vista for the next couple of years. 2 things why. Thing 1, my original copy of Win XP Pro still works like new, even after 5 years of usage! Reason 2 = Ubuntu, and the fact I'm an idiot and even I can install and operate it, and even an idiot knows a free lunch when they see one.
Of course it would have, but second day on the job, I didn't know what was what... not to mention literally "no" IT deptarment insite. It turned out that that computer in particular stored about 6 years worth of very very VERY important data, so lucky I didn't format the thing, etc. >_
There are still thousands of companies out there in manufacturing and mining industries that have been doing what they've been doing for the past 50-100 years. For such workplaces, a lot of them wing it when it comes to IT and security, as the companies them selves still remember 10 years ago, before computers exsited in their workplace.
If iTunes had a face, I would stab it. I don't mind work lending me an iPhone to use, but fuck the whole iTunes GIVE US YOUR CREDIT CARD DETAILS side of it.
Well, they forgot to mention the "shipping down under" piece of the pie, obviously.
Steam is your friend.
Why can't you understand, we don't care! Jesus was a dude in book that has a massive cult backing, not unlike "The Dentist" in "The Little Shop Of Horrors", or I dunno, Rocky Horror Show? My point is we don't care!
But... My giant space slug... No!
Fuck, and I thought I felt ripped off before. My hatred for EA just scaled 10 fold.
You've gotta remember though, EA & Will burnt a LOT of people who actually invested and were looking forward with Spore, such as myself. Now, I personally go out of my way to tell people NOT to get a game produced, owned, written etc by EA, or Will for that mater.

An aluminium smelter uses prodigious amounts of electricity; they tend to be located very close to large power stations.
I'm waaay ahead of you. :)
My girl friend and I made this today on our lunch breaks.

Couldn't agree more. Well said.

Apparently there was cake for morning tea during the military exercise too. :(
The cake is a lie!
