What are the best distros with a live CD to try out the current state of Gnome and KDE? Hopefully ones where the desktop is not too modified.. I've been running Mint Mate edition for a couple of years now, so I'm curious how Gnome 3 and KDE have evolved.
I've been using the planet waves cables for years, too. Nothing worse than cracking and popping blasting through the house PA because you're using a crappy cable!
Food *is* cheap in Mexico. You can get a kilo of limes for $1, but here in Canada, $1 will get you one lime.
What I noticed in Mexico, is that anything locally produced (food, clothes, alcohol, etc) is very cheap, anything imported (electronics, imported clothes, etc) are more expensive even than here in Canada.
Yeah, and you can always trust the users. Like when they say "it got wet", which means they dropped it in the toilet. Or "it suddenly stopped working" which means they dropped it in the parking lot and a car ran over it.
Me too, on my 5S it seems the same or maybe a tiny bit faster. Actually the update seems pretty minor compared to previous major version number updates. I have had a few glitches, the auto-rotation has gotten stuck a couple of times which never happened before the update. And in the youtube app it's much harder to scroll forward and backwards in a video, but I'm not sure if this is due to an update in youtube or the iOS.
With a hammer.
And also how you end up with an obsolete, unsupported desktop operating system hosting production data.
Seriously, this guy is trying to sound all professional, but they're hosting the data on an XP machine? They don't even have a file server?? /facepalm

We should also ban Notepad because people aren't writing novels in it.
They went from stealing people's lunch money to just blowing up their lunch.
So he *was* transporting a noxious substance!!
Curious how the pumps communicate with the POS system in the office, some other type of network? Too bad the updates can't be sent via that network.
Not only that, the gas station may not want more than 1 pump down at a time.

I'm assuming that this article was from April 1 and Slashdot is jus posting it now?
I guess we can't keep using that old open source/proprietary analogy: Would you buy a car with the hood welded shut?
On the sex front, expect your standards for what is "hot enough to do" to fall straight through the floor.
If this is true for women as well, then great news for the Slashdot crowd! Don't give up hope just yet, guys!
Ever hear of Netflix or Youtube?
You have 900 foot patch cables that actually work?
Globalization.
Jesse, I told you to stop posting on Slashdot!!

H/R Drone: Do you have 5 years experience in the field?
Kid: I am 5!
The secret bit Intel doesn't want you to know about!
Their honesty is refreshing.
Yes, and when he says "anarchy", he's misspelling "free".
Until the first country to stick a flag there will demand retroactive back taxes.

As a techie, I learned the technical stuff fairly easily, it's the artistic part that's hard.
