Re:its not the corporations...
Those of you who believe that homeless is a result of rising rents are drinking the liberal cool aid. I have 3 kids in the Seattle area ages 19-26, none with college degrees, all working full time and all living in homes/apartments. Albeit, they have roommates, but they are not homeless
Many, many programs exist to help the homeless BUT, let me repeat BUT – you have to follow the rules. No drugs, in/out by certain hours, actually WANT to work.. but unfortunately, the vast majority of homeless are drug addicts, mentally ill, unable to follow rules so in realty they prefer street life.
Here’s a few articles from your regional Seattle news orgs:
35 tons of garbage from 1 homeless camp
90 sheriff service calls in 2017
https://q13fox.com/2018/05/31/...
after homeless camp cleanup – crime drops:

Of the homeless camp residents ““They were offered services. We even offered them jobs with labor people for a few months,” – “all their offers were rejected, including money to help clean up their own mess.”

it's not corporations or housing prices, but choices. -

Re: Cancer as a mechanism for Darwinism
I agree mostly, but calling America (the US?) one of the cleanest countries in the world is kinda misleading. It might be correct relatively, but on an absolute scale, we all drown in dirt.
And some of that dirt is probably very important for our immune system. Altogether too many people have become germophobes, and the results are not encouraging. Probably half of my son's hockey team was on inhalers when he was in high school. Weird food allergies have cropped up.
Our pediatrician was big on the idea that the immune system doesn't just happen, but needs to be helped along. When my son was around 4 years old, we started bringing him around our horse. He'd get these red blotches on himself. We took him to the pediatrician and he said let him be around the horse in increasing amounts of time, and not to be concerned unless he had issues breathing. We did just that, and within a week, no more blotches.
Not unlike noticing that peanut allergies hardly exist in the middle east, where peanuts and milk are often children's first solid food. As opposed to here where we were trying to eliminate peanuts from the earth. http://komonews.com/archive/st...
.Which doesn't work.

If you have a dick, use the men's toilet.
I thought Libs were all for science. Where is the science in pretending a dude, with a dick and male chromosomes, is a woman?
Not quite certain what your point is, Your supposed liberal result of allowing transgenders in womens room is a pervy male, who identifies as male, Not a transgender.
Pervy males have done this kind of pervy stuff for years and years.

Here's a good one - a man hiding in a septic tank so he could watch women do their thing. Jeebuz! http://kfor.com/2013/07/08/man...
Point is you are using the conept of people only going into restrooms to have sex. Stop that! A transgender woman is almost certainly just going into the restroom, and just using it. And if she is going into the bathroom to look to have sex - what of lesbians? They are probably more interested in the other people's lady parts.
And if you check out the dates, these perv guys were dressing as women to work their pervy magic a while back, before even supreme court rulings on gay marriage or gender equity. Anyhow, would you force this person to use a mens room? http://i.kinja-img.com/gawker-... http://www4.pictures.zimbio.co...
And she's probably going to just do her business and leave. If she wanted to engage in sexy time in a bathroom (yuk) she'd probably go in the men's room.
psst - I think she likes guys.

Re:Are Evangelicals dangerous?
Actually, no. No he can not.
What's there to stop him?
And yes, it is a myth
Congratulations, you've defeated a strawman. Your link explains, how improbable (though not impossible) it is to be attacked in a bathroom by a transgendered. But that's not, what I was talking about. Which was the treat posed by a heterosexual man pretending to be a woman in order to get into and stay in women's bathroom. And that has happened...
Am I insane because I identify as a woman?
Yes, one's elevator does not reach all the way to the top, if he considers himself a woman. But, as I wrote once before, we really ought to define terms before continuing. I am now asking you once again to post your definitions for the terms "man" and "woman". Further responses missing this information will be returned unopened. Thank you.

Re:Of course they have an army...
Of course designers cannot practice on the future american "soldiers", like these two:
http://media.komonews.com/imag...And I don't think that those two "kids" would even be considered "humans" in Italy. I really wouldn't let my children play with them.
Plus, given the embarrassing results in Vietnam, Afghanistan and Iraq, I would rather be protected by some Cosa Nostra guys rather than the US military.

Re:Marijuana should be legalized
When was the last time you heard about someone stoned killing someone with a car?
-
Re:Still in sad condition
For how many problems my country might have, I find it reassuring to know that in the US these two biological wreckages below are considered normal "humans", while here in Italy they would probably be kept in a zoo:
http://media.komonews.com/imag...
Italy: 10% obesity rate, one of the lowest in the world, and second-highest life expectancy on the planet (83 years, only Japan is above). USA: 35% obesity rate, the highest in the west, and only 79 years of life expectancy. Sources: OECD Obesity Update 2014 for the obesity rates, and World Health Organization for the life expectancy data ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/... )
There are many ways to "evolve", and I think that living longer, healthier and obviously better looking, is frankly preferable over making 19K$ a year more in GDP per-capita, with a far worse wealth distribution.
-
Re:Good luck with that - it's Italy
Well, since UberPop is an example of shadow economy, I guess that tax revenues will increase after this court decision.
Furthermore, there are several other factors to look at to analyze a country. Italy has the second-highest life expectancy in the world ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/... ), and a 10.4% obesity rate (OECD, Obesity Update 2014), one of the lowest in europe and the west. Which means, for example, that the two ugly biological monsters in the photo below (not sure if they are british or american) wouldn't even be considered "humans" in Italy, or in any other country with a low obesity rate:
http://media.komonews.com/imag...
So I guess that Italy has its pros and cons, like any other country.
Note that this post might be considered completely off-topic. Just like yours.

Case in Point - KOMO's Gamergate Story
That explains why many news organizations are removing the ability to comment from their sites: because it was undermining the effectiveness of the favored propaganda they pass along as 'news'. Remember kids, journalistic bias is all about WHICH propaganda you decide to go to press with.
Yup.
Just last week, KOMO TV in Seattle aired a biased Gamergate story (though, as a sad indication of how low the bar is, it's way less biased than most news media). Three days later, there was a note at the bottom of every story, saying site comments are no more:

Looks like too many gamers were fact-checking their work, and it was too embarassing to let people see that happen. -

Re:Translation please
No he wouldn't, because you're equating a literally once in a war occurrence with common aging results.
Because you're ignoring that arguing-by-anecdote is a logical fallacy.
Many people have been shot in the head and suffered no lasting consequences. Yet, others have died after a single punch to the head. Therefore: being shot in the head is no big deal, but boxing should be banned immediately.
Logical. Fallacy.

Re:Other than the obligatory security theatre...
Yes, I really do think they would shoot it down. If the plane strays then it means the pilot is either not in control or not obeying instructions from the air traffic control. Either one of those conditions will tighten enough sphincters on the ground that the kill order will be given if they fail to repsond to enough radio hails. They scrambled a couple of fighters to deal with a float plane in restricted airspace back in 2010. I'd heard military jets howling overhead many times, but I'd never heard a sonic boom (except on TV) before that day. http://www.komonews.com/news/l...

Risks vs benefits and tradeoffs
However I think there is a real danger of honest mistakes being abused, and like I said most of the abuses I know about used those.
If the cameras are only under the control of the people they are supposed to be monitoring, they will wind up being used only to clear, never to convict. I don't want the police getting any access to the videos that the accused doesn't have.
Honest mistakes are already 'abused' in our legal system. Cameras add nothing to that. But they can - if the system is set up properly - reduce a whole host of other abuses.

Re:In WA State: Man shot 16 times
In Auburn, WA a corrections officer was seeking another person. The DOC officer and King County police shot an unarmed man (Theoharis), the officers later claiming say they thought he (Theoharis) was reaching for a gun, though no weapons were found in the room. The independent review also found evidence the sheriff's office was more interested in advocating for its officers than uncovering the facts behind the shooting.
I've lived in WA all my life and stories like this aren't new. When I was in high school, the police got the wrong address, bust the door of a "suspected" drug dealer, killed the guy on the couch because he was holding up a remote control. They find out wrong address. Justified shooting. Another time after a "all clear" call, a police, still speeding to the scene, hits a car and kills the person inside. Policeman wasn't hurt and didn't get in trouble.
Cops generally get away with a lot here. Only 1 time did a hear about a cop getting in trouble, and that was because he was shaking down junkies and dealers. Probably didn't cut his fellow cops in, i don't know, but he got in trouble and off the force for it.

Same story, different day. They are speaking publicly, but not everyone is listening, paying attention, or caring.
NSA director: Surveillance foiled 50 terror plots
FBI deputy director: NSA foiled NYC bombing plots
NSA director says surveillance foiled plot against Wall StreetIntelligence officials last week disclosed some details on two thwarted attacks - one targeting the New York subway system, one to bomb a Danish newspaper office that had published the cartoon depictions of the Prophet Mohammad. Alexander and Sean Joyce, deputy director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, offered additional details on two other foiled plots, including one targeting Wall Street.
Under questioning, Joyce said the NSA was able to identify an extremist in Yemen who was in touch with an individual in Kansas City, Mo. They were able to identify co-conspirators and thwart a plot to bomb the New York Stock Exchange.
Joyce also said a terrorist financier inside the U.S. was identified and arrested in October 2007, thanks to a phone record provided by the NSA. The individual was making phone calls to a known designated terrorist group overseas.
It doesn't matter how much they disclose if you don't listen. Maybe they should send the stories to Wikileaks, maybe then it would get people's attention.
Both of those specific instances were calls made overseas, and many people are ok with the NSA looking at international calls. So remind me again why they are watching all of our domestic calls? If they see a call to a foreign terrorist organization, they can use a good old fashioned court order to get the phone records from the domestic end of the call. No need for the NSA to collect all of the data.
There's also exactly zero evidence that those plots were even real.

Re:First my beloved Viper fighter, now thisyou are genuinely fucking retarded. there is no ban, stupid. anyway, my comment about thinkgeek was based on the fact that the manufacturer is still selling them. the CPSC is only suing to ban. thinkgeek could have been smart and rejected their persuasion to stop selling, but they succumbed to pressure and maybe even believed the bullshit they were told (like you did).
http://www.komonews.com/news/consumer/Feds-act-to-stop-sale-of-magnetic-Buckyballs-163775816.htmlThe safety commission says the company refused to recall the product. On another front, the agency said it was able to persuade about 10 retailers, including Amazon.com, to stop selling Buckyballs....
If the administrative law judge rules in favor of the commission, then CPSC could compel Maxfield to stop the sale of its Buckyballs. But the company could appeal to the agency's four commissioners. It could also appeal in federal court. The commission typically negotiates product recalls with companies, and they usually work out an agreement.persuade? that's not a federal ban. it's a suggestion, or more accurately, a manipulation, while they try to push their ban through the courts. and you're a tool. here, you want to buy some? ordering them is more effective than crying to the government. that way, you put money into the pockets of the company fighting the lawsuit while persisting the product's ubiquity. see how that works?

But prisoners sometimes are used for customer service and apple picking. Are we sure prison is more expensive? I see it as slave labour.
Yes, the problem with education is that it is expensive. Maybe if we didn't spend so much on "defense" here in America we could devote more towards k-12 and higher education.
I figure there's roughly 50 million k-12. If we gave them each a voucher to use at a school of their choice (yes, including public schools) for $3k (with 1/3rd used to create free/better lunches), I think it would be significant. So if a school has 1000 high school students, you can figure that's an extra $2 million ($1 million for free/better lunches). Hiring homework graders would be a start to provide teacher relief. Maybe they could devote more time towards helping students after school.
Higher education... anyone care to talk about that? State governments can't afford to provide all necessary funding to their public colleges to keep tuition low.

Yeah, right. More likely he gets a paid vacation for a few weeks (if even that), a slap on the wrist, and then he's back on the streets to abuse people just like he learned back in grade school bullying his classmates.
Hell, how hard is it to even prove that the beating was "for no reason"? Cops already routinely confiscate any video proof of their misdeeds, even from innocent bystanders. And those dash-cams? Good luck depending on those to exonerate you.
