Rootkits on Windows? NO PROBLEM & why
Courtesy of "yours truly" & this technique I outlined vs. "the indestructible rootkit", long ago here on
/., using tools you most likely ALREADY OWN or are FREE, from MS (here goes & yes, vs. malware they can haul in that works in Windows while you are logged on also, per your statements):http://it.slashdot.org/comments.pl?sid=2395654&cid=37204632
* It works vs. ANY rootkit (driver driven, via RC listsvc, & disable commands, OR FixMBR vs. MBR based ones, nowadays? They use BOTH...) + the malware they haul in to do JUST what YOU said (via processexplorer.exe)...
APK
P.S.=> You can also use THIS tool too:
---
APK Hosts File Engine 5.0++ 32/64-bit:
---
(Which is FREE, & I created in both 32-bit &/or 64-bit form (in the file it comes in))
To BLOCKOUT communication back to their C&C servers, as far as malware in ring3/rpl3/usermode once logged into Windows!
It's especially since MOST use host-domain names vs. IP addresses, since they spent monies on them & they use them 99% of the time (trust me - I've been fighting them for decades)
Those domain names?
They are an "investment in time" for them, they often use/recycle - the "RBN" was NOTORIOUS for it by using 'unscrupulous' hosting providers! Hence part of WHY they reuse them, since they PAID for them!
IP addresses, by FAR the less used? Usually ONLY for 'fallback' purposes in the 'better designed' malware??
Spot them talking back with TcpView or netstat -ano/-an
(AND, they will BLOCK that or mess with netstat I wager though, why? Well... so, be wary of that, rootkits DO intercept API calls to stuff they know about to make bad data come back to it so YOU cannot "spot them" in the act & catch 'em "red handed").
(Because you're correct - it would be done from there once users are logged in, hence WHY the malware maker of today does it, hauling in MORE malware above the ring 0/rpl 0/kernelmode rootkit which vs. my technique above? NON-SEQUITUR & BLOWN AWAY, easily - 3 minutes time, tops... lol, with free tools in recovery console (vs. the rootkit drivers OR mbr based ones) & processexplorer (to 'mop up' the usermode malwares no matter WHERE OR HOW they 'hide', like beneath services), + ones you most likely OWN already (hopefully))...

DO WHAT I DID (step by step)... apk
Run SERVICES.MSC - disable NVidia services there (or just set them MANUAL till you are SURE all your apps work - upon reboot especially)!
No reboot required for it to work here though!
SO, DO TEST like I did with your games or 3d display related apps -> http://it.slashdot.org/comments.pl?sid=3344029&cid=42406941
* That should make it doable for you, easily via GUI no less...
APK
P.S.=> It'll work, it did for me @ least & yes, ON Win7 64-bit!
(Addendum - I've done it before long ago on 32-bit NT-based OS for ages too, before I bought into the 64-bit world so I could do 64-bit apps, & test them here too, ala -> http://start64.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=5851:apk-hosts-file-engine-64bit-version&catid=26:64bit-security-software&Itemid=74

Did I state it DIDN'T?
No... in fact, I stated it COSTS, big http://tech.slashdot.org/comments.pl?sid=3339513&cid=42390907 AND, I pointed out the companies (huge money makers) doing it successfully!
There's probably others, those are my 2 "prime examples thereof" is all... AND?
NOTE - I also posted OTHER METHODS too (for Windows users though)...
Methods that do NOT require 'huge bandwidth' & OC12 pipes to do it (ala the registry hack settings mitigations recommend by Microsoft for TCP/IP stack hardening).
Your point??
I appreciate your information, but - I find your tone to be one that's attempting to "condescend" to me, while you overlook ALL/EACH of my points!
Ok, but... I am WELL aware of how it works - since I have been fighting vs. crooks online for more than a decade now, actively (unlike MOST others, mere "armchair QB's" & critics galore but not much on being 'chefs') - see below.
So, yes - I KNOW HOW IT ALL WORKS & how the pricks that abuse people, companies, & nations work...
Plus - I am out there DOING SOMETHING ABOUT IT - actively now, & for YEARS before it, just like my parent post here was intended to be, because the methods work... see below too, I don't like stating things without some proof of my words (unlike the trolls I have smoked here today).

P.S.=> Buddy, listen: As far as protecting vs. malware & other threats online? I am RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE OF IT with security firms:
and doing the FIRST security guide for Windows users, EVER 1997 onwards to 2008:

To "immunize" a Windows system, I effectively use the principles in "layered security" possibles!
http://www.bing.com/search?q=%22HOW+TO+SECURE+Windows+2000%2FXP%22&go=&form=QBRE
I.E./E.G.-> I have done so since 1997-1998 with the most viewed, highly rated guide online for Windows security there really is which came from the fact I also created the 1st guide for securing Windows, highly rated @ NEOWIN (as far back as 1998-2001) here:
http://www.neowin.net/news/apk-a-to-z-internet-speedup--security-text
& from as far back as 1997 -> http://web.archive.org/web/20020205091023/www.ntcompatible.com/article1.shtml which Neowin above picked up on & rated very highly.
That has evolved more currently, into the MOST viewed & highly rated one there is for years now since 2008 online in the 1st URL link above...
Which has well over 500,000++ views online (actually MORE, but 1 site with 75,000 views of it went offline/out-of-business) & it's been made either:
---
1.) An Essential Guide
2.) 5-5 star rated
3.) A "sticky-pinned" thread
4.) Most viewed in the category it's in (usually security)
5.) Got me PAID by winning a contest @ PCPitStop (quite unexpectedly - I was only posting it for the good of all, & yes, "the Lord works in mysterious ways", it even got me PAID -> http://techtalk.pcpitstop.com/2007/09/04/pc-pitstop-winners/ (see January 2008))---
Across 15-20 or so sites I posted it on back in 2008... & here is the IMPORTANT part, in some sample testimonials to the "layered secu

A.) Tracked
B.) Spammed
C.) Speed/bandwidth hogged by ads (as well as electricity, CPU cycles, RAM, & other forms of I/O as well)
D.) Hit by malware or malicious scripts (for better "layered-security"/"defense-in-depth")
E.) Hit by DNS poisoning redirection (OR DNS servers being "downed") losing reliability
F.) Blocked out & have even more 'anonymity' (to an extent vs. DNS request logs) + being able to "blow by" what you may feel are unjust blocks (in DNSBL's)... ...& more? Use this:---

Custom hosts files gain me the following benefits (A short summary of where custom hosts files can be extremely useful):

1.) Blocking out malware/malscripted sites.
2.) Blocking out Known sites-servers/hosts-domains that are known to serve up malware.
3.) Blocking out Bogus DNS servers malware makers use.
4.) Blocking out Botnet C&C servers.
5.) Blocking out Bogus adbanners that are full of malicious script content.
6.) Blocking out known spammers &/or phishers.
7.) Blocking out TRACKERS.
8.) Getting you back speed/bandwidth you paid for by blocking out adbanners + hardcoding in your favorite sites (faster than remote DNS server resolution).
9.) Added reliability (vs. downed or misdirect/poisoned DNS servers).
10.) Added "anonymity" (to an extent, vs. DNS request logs).
11.) The ability to bypass DNSBL's (DNS block lists you may not agree with).
12.) More screen "real estate" (since no more adbanners appear onscreen eating up CPU, Memory, & other forms of I/O too - bonus!).
13.) Truly UNIVERSAL PROTECTION (since any OS, even on smartphones, usually has a BSD drived IP stack).
14.) Faster & MORE EFFICIENT operation vs. browser plugins (which "layer on" ontop of Ring 3/RPL 3/usermode browsers & are generally written in slower INTERPRETED languages (e.g. AdBlock = python/perl/javascript)- Whereas by way of comparison, the hosts file operates @ the Ring 0/RPL 0/Kernelmode of operation (far faster) as a filter for the IP stack itself which is written in C & Assembly language...).
15.) Custom hosts files work on ANY & ALL webbound apps (browser plugins do not).
16.) Custom hosts files offer a better, faster, more efficient way, & safer way to surf the web & are COMPLETELY controlled by the end-user of them.---
* There you go... & above all else IF you choose to try it for the enumerated list of benefits I extolled above?
Enjoy the program!
(However, more importantly, enjoy the results in better speed/bandwidth, privacy, reliability, "layered-security"/"defense-in-depth", & even anonymity to an extent (vs. DNS request logs & blowing past DNSBL's) + more, that custom hosts files can yield...)
Of course, THIS is NOT going to "go well" with 3 types of people out there online, profiting by advertising & nefarious exploits + more @ YOUR expense as the consumer:
---
A.) Malware makers & the like (botnet masters, etc./et al)
B.) ADVERTISERS - Offended ones since it's their "lifeblood" in psychological attack, tracking, & more, etc.!
C.) Webmasters (who profit by ad banners, but fail to realize that those SAME adbanners suck away the users' bandwidth/speed, electricity, CPU cycles, RAM, & other forms of I/O they PAY FOR, plus, adbanners DO get infested with malicious code, & if anyone wants many "examples thereof" from the past near-decade now? Not only does it block out those adbanners which suck up your bandwidth YOU PAY FOR MONTHLY OUT OF YOUR OWN POCKET, but it saves you CPU cycles, RAM, & other forms of I/O adbanners 'suck up'!
Adbanners which also HAVE been infested many times with malicious code over the years now lately, so, it also protects you vs. KNOWN malicious sites/servers/hosts-domains that host malwares &/or malicious script code
I also produced CONSIDERABLE numbers of evidences of that here before in this post -> http://yro.slashdot.org/comments.pl?sid=2368832&cid=37021700
Which some trolls (advertiser, malware-maker, or webmaster) downmodded my last post like this one, here:

(Albeit - With NO valid computing-technical critique behind it, today - just "hit & run" downmods... "Gee, wonder why?" (lol, NOT! They can't disprove my points & they KNOW it...)).
It's also NOT owned by advertisers like GHOSTERY &/or ADBLOCK are!
NOW... talk about "foxes guarding the henhouse"... you'd have to be a real "cluck" to use those, now, @ least (imo, because of that fact)!
See list in my 'p.s.' below too!
(As it enumerates what this program's data outputs (a custom hosts file) can do that's good, for you, the end-user of them).
It has a 32-bit model, + a 64-bit one in the distro itself, & is 100% free, & can be installed anywhere!
(I'd go as far as saying it's a "portable" app, since it has no configuration storage necessary really, but I am not sure if it meets ALL the requirements for that!)

QUESTION:
What I would like to know, & perhaps you

Truth on Ghostery & a better solution
Evidon, which makes Ghostery, is an advertising company. They were originally named Better Advertising, Inc., but changed their name for obvious PR reasons.
Despite the name change, let's be clear on one thing: their goal still is building better advertising, not protecting consumer privacy.
Evidon bought Ghostery, an independent privacy tool that had a good reputation.
They took a tool that was originally for watching the trackers online, something people saw as a legitimate privacy tool, and users were understandably concerned. The company said they were just using Ghostery for research.
Turns out they had relationships with a bunch of ad companies and were compiling data from which sites you visited when you were using Ghostery, what trackers were on those sites, what ads they were, etc., and building a database to monetize.
When confronted about it, they made their tracking opt-in and called it GhostRank, which is how it exists today.
They took an open-source type tool, bought it, turned it from something that's actually protecting people from the ad industry, to something where the users are actually providing data to the advertisers to make it easier to track them.
This is a fundamental conflict of interest.
To sum up: Ghostery makes its money from selling supposedly de-indentified user data about sites visited and ads encountered to marketers and advertisers. You get less privacy, they get more money.
That's an inverse relationship.
Better Advertising/Evidon continually plays up the story that people should just download Ghostery to help them hide from advertisers. Their motivation to promote it, however, isn't for better privacy; it's because they hope that you'll opt in to GhostRank and send you a bunch of information.
They named their company Better Advertising for a reason: their incentive is better advertising, not better privacy

A fox is guarding your henhouse... apk

1st of all - AdBlock no longer blocks all ads by default (and those who own them know most folks won't change the default thinking it's same as it used to be but it is not), and Ghostery tracks you (same deal here, by default, via ghostrank).

WHY?
To deceive people with "1/2 truths" which is where MARKETERS ALWAYS "BLOW IT" & folks today are too well informed for that to go on as much as it has in the past... what else??

Multicore makes sense... apk
Personally, since you & I have similar "use patterns" from what you're stating? It makes sense to GO multicore, & not only from a price-standpoint perspective, but for a productivity one also.
I've always looked @ it this way: Given a job of digging a ditch, would I get it done FASTER, with only 1 arm (core) OR N multiple arms (cores)?
Especially if prices are right??
Hey - You KNOW the answer! You're "living it"... & I didn't mean to call YOU "grandma email user", the way you spoke, I doubted you were, I was just trying to make a point that what you noted COULD be done on single core (it was for decades is why).
APK
P.S.=> What I work on @ home? You may not believe it, but it spans MILLIONS of rows (short ones though, 2 items each) -> http://start64.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=5851:apk-hosts-file-engine-64bit-version&catid=26:64bit-security-software&Itemid=74
That's just @ home though, & probably THE MOST 'cpu intensive task' I run here that I do daily, & some of its sources I didn't get to "build in" to that for import & processing either (those are done in PyThon scripts that my nephew actually built the underpinnings for, & I added better filtering + errtrapping to & multithreaded design) for that...
I will, eventually, do away w/ the Python though, now that I KNOW they can be done as either 'screen scrapes' or file imports via that Delphi app.
At work?
Since 1994, it's been rather large databases, mostly over time in either IBM DB/2, Oracle, or SQLServer (into the I DON'T EVEN KNOW HOW MANY TOTAL ROWS size tables in devices)... Thus: Did I appreciate multicore when it started arriving (vs. SMP rigs)? Absolutely... everyone did!

I'm already doing it @ the IP stack level
Kernelmode/Ring 0/RPL 0, fast as it gets in software, by using a custom hosts file!
Plus, THAT happens LONG BEFORE browser addons work (which slow down browsers - load FF with addons, you'll see, for example).
Essentially?
It makes things like AdBlock basically redundant @ that point, & same with local DNS servers too (which eat more CPU cycles, RAM, & other forms of I/O too PLUS electricity as a result (worse if setup on a separate system on the power part)), as well as local browser 'dns caches' - since the custom hosts file & IP stack determine what to block, as well as host-domain name resolutions LONG BEFORE addons or browsers even BEGIN to work.
Lastly - Custom hosts files do a LOT MORE to YOUR ADVANTAGE than just block ads!
So - IF you don't want to be:

Block these ads the MOST efficient way... apk
Via custom hosts files, which are better than other solutions like AdBlock... how so? Ok:
---
1.) AdBlock operates on Mozilla products
2.) AdBlock's written in slower interpreted javascript/perl/python (vs. the IP stack written in C & Assembly languages, FAR faster)...
3.) AdBlock operates in SLOWER ring 3/rpl 3/usermode, LAYERED OVER ALREADY SLOWER ring 3/rpl 3/usermode apps in browsers (vs. custom hosts operating in ring 0/rpl 0/kernelmode, merely acting as a filter for the IP stack which is written in C & Assembly language - FAR faster!).
4.) AdBlock also can't speedup your favorite sites via "hardcoded" hosts file entries of your fav. sites.
5.) AdBlock can't protect you vs. DNS poisoning (as well as making access to your fav. sites more reliable)
... and more where it's inferior to custom hosts files...

1's been around for a LONG time... apk
Custom hosts files block the threats before your apps can get to them, consider using them.
My sources for that data (12 in the app below) are populated MOSTLY daily, some every 30 minutes even, vs. such threats as they become known, and a good 99% of them are host-domain name based (for the IP address based ones, which are rarer by far, you can put them into a firewall rules table easily enough - I do so with a powershell script here for example).
NoScript's an "excellent ally" for Mozilla products users, especially vs. the things this author speaks of also, in combination with custom hosts files + firewall rules tables noted above, however:
AdBlock isn't anymore!
Why?
Adblock only operates on Mozilla products!
Adblock's written in slower javascript/perl/python, & operates in SLOWER ring 3/rpl 3/usermode, LAYERED OVER ALREADY SLOWER ring 3/rpl 3/usermode apps in browsers!
(Vs. custom hosts operating in ring 0/rpl 0/kernelmode, merely acting as a filter for the IP stack which is written in C & Assembly language - FAR faster!).
AdBlock also can't speedup your favorite sites and protect you vs. DNS poisoning (as well as making access to your fav. sites more reliable), and more where it's inferior to custom hosts files...
So - IF you don't want to be:
---
A.) Tracked
B.) Spammed
C.) Speed/bandwidth hogged by ads (as well as electricity, CPU cycles, RAM, & other forms of I/O as well)

"Only problem I see is if sites change ip addresses. What do you do then?" - by Anonymous Coward on Monday October 01, @04:54PM (#41518071)
I do this (I built it YEARS ago, circa 2004, & only put it out recently because of the "malware explosion", for the good of others):
---
APK Hosts File Engine 5.0++:
---
* IF you take a peek there @ its screenshot, note the "Speedup Favorite Sites" tab - it's the "safety measure" on THAT account vs. that which you are concerned about!
Since every 12 hours it runs here "automagically" to import, sort, & deduplicate custom hosts file data from reputable + reliable sources!
(That's mostly data vs. trackers, adbanner servers, sites/servers/hosts-domains that are KNOWN to serve up malicious content of many kinds (malware binaries to malicious scripts etc.), botnet C&C Servers, bogus DNS servers malware makers use, phishing & spamming servers, & more of that "ilk")...
That tab takes a list ( SITES.TXT which is in its own directory wherever you made it, it runs from anywhere so no big deal on that much ) you fill with your favorite sites!
Then it performs a "reverse-DNS ping" to get their IP address & "VOILA" - my spedup favorites get updated every day!)
Fact is? I'd BET it's even faster than this newfangled "Fast TCP" stuff the Linux crew is using, but I am impressed by their works this round... & it will compliment it, if anything!
APK
P.S.=> To let you know though - When & IF sites change IP addresses, they tend to email or post on their sites' pages they will be changing hosting providers (nothing wrong with shoppping for a 'better/cheaper deal' & all that)... of the 250 I used to keep hardcoded in my hosts file since oh, around 2005 or so? Only 6 changed on me in that timeframe...

E.) Allow you to "hardcode" your favorite sites to avoid downed or DNS-poisoned redirected DNS servers (for better reliability AND to get more speed (faster than calling out to a remote DNS server))---
Custom Hosts Files are also better on THESE grounds as well:

1.) Hosts files also OPERATE MORE EFFICIENTLY THAN ADBLOCK or other browser addons SINCE THEY ARE MERELY A FILTER FOR THE IP STACK ITSELF (operating in Ring 0/RPL 0/kernelmode, vs. Ring 3/RPL 3/usermode where browser addons layer on more complexity in an already SLOWER layer of operations)
2.) Hosts files cover every webbound app, AdBlock doesn't

4.) Plus, lastly: AdBlock "ain't what it used to be", & by default" - see links above!

Host-Domain names...

Custom hosts = your pal (how/when/why/where)
Custom hosts files also actually compliment DNS servers even, Plus - DNS Servers use more electric power (especially if setup as a separate system OR even as a locally running program) & they also use MORE in CPU cycles, RAM, & other forms of I/O vs. custom hosts files...
(Even DNS that's external to your home or business types are in use like these "secured filtering" types in OpenDNS, NortonDNS, Comodo DNS, ScrubIT DNS, etc.)

3.) Blocking out Bogus DNS servers malware makers use
4.) Blocking out Botnet C&C servers
5.) Blocking out Bogus adbanners that are full of malicious script content
6.) Getting you back speed/bandwidth you paid for by blocking out adbanners + hardcoding in your favorite sites (faster than remote DNS server resolution)
7.) Added reliability (vs. downed or misdirect/poisoned DNS servers).
8.) Added "anonymity" (to an extent, vs. DNS request logs)
9.) The ability to bypass DNSBL's (DNS block lists you may not agree with).
10.) Blocking out TRACKERS
11.) More screen "real estate" (since no more adbanners appear onscreen eating up CPU, Memory, & other forms of I/O too - bonus!)
12.) Truly UNIVERSAL PROTECTION (since any OS, even on smartphones, usually has a BSD drived IP stack).
13.) Faster & MORE EFFICIENT operation vs. browser plugins (which "layer on" ontop of Ring 3/RPL 3/usermode browsers - whereas the hosts file operates @ the Ring 0/RPL 0/Kernelmode of operation (far faster) as a filter for the IP stack itself...)
14.) Custom hosts files work on ANY & ALL webbound apps (browser plugins do not).
15.) Custom hosts files offer a better, faster, more efficient way, & safer way to surf the web & are COMPLETELY controlled by the end-user of them.

* There you go... & above all else IF you choose to try it for the enumerated list of benefits I extolled above?
Enjoy the program!

P.S.=> Of course, THIS is NOT going to "go well" with 3 types of people out there online, profiting by advertising & nefarious exploits + more @ YOUR expense as the consumer:

Don't you mean "anecdotal" experience only?
"Empirical evidence presented by well-known rent-a-journalist websites does not trump personal experience." - by Killall -9 Bash (622952) on Thursday September 06, @05:19PM (#41253683)
See subject-line above, & when YOU PERSONALLY have created a BETTER antivirus & entire security suite than Norton/Symantec has? Get back to us...
Then, you'll have a HELL of a set of evidence backing you, as a voice of REAL experience, in creating such a ware...
(See - I really dislike when others who are techs "put down" the hard work of others from the commercially available software realm... especially in anti-virus work!)
I don't dislike *YOU* personally - I don't even know you, but that set of statements from you? Irked me... that's all!
On "rented journalists"?? They don't last long IF & WHEN they do that... but, they DO happen too, by the same token, admittedly.

See - I also "do this for a living" professionally in MANY varied roles, since 1994 from out of the 16 bit world of Client-Server, into the 32-bit one we're transitioning out of now, &Âtly into 64-bit ware creation work here...
Plus:
---
1.) The degrees (B.S. MIS & also straight CSC, heading past AAS level 60 credit hours & 'chipping away' @ the B.S. in CSC currently with 90/120 credit hours done for it now)
2.) 17++ yrs of professional experience behind & beyond that here in CSC/MIS, working my way up through the field as:
a. A techie in college 1991-1993 (working for IKON & others)
b. Network admin 1994-2000
c. Splitting time doing code on everything from freeware/shareware 1995-2000(Some of it security related no less like this recent release from me -> http://start64.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=5851:apk-hosts-file-engine-64bit-version&catid=26:64bit-security-software&Itemid=74 )
Up thru smallish departmental database systems, all the way up to millions-of-lines "enterprise class"/"mission-critical" systems...
d. Programmer-Analyst title from 1997-2005 or so
e. Software Engineer 2005-current---
I'll agree on McAfee & Norton ( + others listed below WITH GOOD REASON, personal experience that others like Dr. Mark Russinovich a former "coworker" of mine for Sunbelt in the mid to late 1990's selling our wares thru them, plus Nir Sofer as well of NIRSOFT have ALSO had... not a good experience either...)!
Albeit, in 1 regards: FALSE POSITIVES only, their wares DO work (too much OOP use though imo is what slows up their wares... objects have overheads in instancing AND memory usage).
Both ( and 2 others) called the app above a "malware" that bore a trojan!
So, I confronted them on it!
(With backing from the security community in fact in Mr. Steven Burn of malwarebytes/hpHosts)
Simply to prove otherwise....
In the end?
McAfee, Symantec, Comodo, ArcaVir, & others recanted it, and gave it a CLEAN BILL OF HEALTH!
I only released it last month 8/2012, but it was actually READY in 4/2012 - that crap HELD ME BACK!
Was I pissed? Yes, you bet...
Especially since the app is designed to help users get more speed/bandwidth, security, reliability, & even "anonymity" to an extent vs. DNS request logs... so yea, I was ticked off, but... I KNEW I could prove them wrong, & did so!
I did the SAME with CA years ago as well (now THEY pissed me off, but got sold off in the end, caught by the SEC in felonious accounting scandals, & reduced an app I

Downmodding my post to *try* to "hide" YOUR fails?
#1. - I created a program that helps security online http://start64.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=5851:apk-hosts-file-engine-64bit-version&catid=26:64bit-security-software&Itemid=74 (as well as it helping speed/bandwidth, reliability, & even anonymity, to an extent, vs. DNS request logs (and you can circumvent DNSBL's you may not like either too, bonus)).
It's a program that security sites that produce custom hosts file data host for me in fact ( http://hosts-file.net/?s=Download & http://hostsfile.org/hosts.html ) Whose administrators @ malwarebytes have VERIFIED as safe/good code!
---
#2. - Why would I also create a security guide for Windows users then, showing others how to secure their systems vs. attack http://www.bing.com/search?q=%22HOW+TO+SECURE+Windows+2000%2FXP%22&go=&qs=ns&form=QBLH if I were a malware author also?
Face facts: You've proven yourself wrong. I'm certainly no malware maker (since I did the above 2 bolded items & you ac troll morons attempted to insinuate that about my wares...).
(You fail as usual, ac troll... rotflmao!)
---
#3. - As far as Thor Schmuck and the felons at CA? Long ago, I put them away easily -> http://slashdot.org/comments.pl?sid=3058625&cid=41056339
(Once more disproving your ac troll b.s., since you morons tried to insinuate my wares are "malware" & the folks that host THIS very program? Verified it is not... and so did McAfree, Symantec, Arcabit/ArcaVir, Comodo, & others - whom I directly confronted on it, and I got them to "overturn" their "false positives"... which happens A LOT, & that link I just put up shows it happens to guys like Nir Sofer of NIRSOFT (good coder, he & I have discussed this before) & even Dr. Mark Russinovich of Microsoft (with his tools being falsely accused of being malware AND getting misused by malware makers too)).
---
#4. - As far as my "APK Hosts File Engine 5.0++" 32/64-bit program that creates perfect custom hosts files being VB3 + Netscape 4?
LMAO - Well, as per your usual?
You blew that too -> http://slashdot.org/comments.pl?sid=3058625&cid=41121309
Additionally:
As well as here also on how long it takes to operate -> http://slashdot.org/comments.pl?sid=3058625&cid=41161717 which, of course, BLOWS away your "Big O" b.s. too, lol...
(Troll - you really ought not talk of things you have NO clue in. It does you in, each time!)
---
#5. - As far as MY having "real world experience", & from the Fortune 100/500? Been doing THAT, in MIS/IS/IT information systems, professionally, since 1994 - both as a network admin & as a programmer analyst, professionally...
So, "so much for that b.s." from you too!
APK
P.S.=> Ah, you'll do "your usual", mark my words:
I.E.-> Again/once more - You'll just downmod my posts that BLOW YOU AWAY every single time (since my posts point to the fallacies & FAILS you've done) lol - via your registered "luser" MULTIPLE account(s) here on
/., & troll me by AC again, repeating your same b.s. I blow away WITH EASE, each time! Ah - no biggie, I love doing it & all you have? Is effete "downmods" in retaliation for your self-defeats & "eatin
