Arabic predates Islam. They need not be conflated. You don't conflate the number system we use today with Sharia law do you?
I wasn't being pro-islam, I was being pro-freedom of speech. The hysteria about Arabs is ridiculous, as evidenced by the Jet Blue T-shirt incident.
Someone should really make a t-shirt with arabic script that blinks with LEDs...that's sure to bring on the end of the world. -

Re:If your just looking for a job....
It's not quite as easy as that, sometimes.
My passion is taking ephemeral concept and forming it into the written word, and hopefully fashioning it into an entertaining read while I'm at it. Let's face it though, unless you're a Stephen King, a Rowlings, Jim Butcher, or Dean Koontz, being a writer does not pay well, no matter how passionate you are about it.
Even in the journalistic world, unless you manage to nail a "big scoop" over your more experienced and better-connected superiors, your average "Reporter I" position makes around $10-$16/hour, as shown here: http://tinyurl.com/2vmljv
Copy writers make only a bit more.
I've been working various support jobs for hardware, OS, and networking for nigh unto the past decade. Did I initially have a passion for it? Yes, believe it or not. Did I enjoy it? Sure -- on some levels I still do, because I do honestly enjoy problem-solving and helping people... but I don't take as much satisfaction or enjoyment out of working in the IT field as I once did.
I would rather be sitting at my desk, writing interesting things that other people will hopefully read and enjoy, and maybe even pay for. Unfortunately, that doesn't pay the bills, put food on the table, or keep gas in the wife's vehicle or mine.
"Follow your dream" is a nice sentiment, and I'm certain it's well-meant, but in the cold, hard light of reality, it's not always practical, or even possible.
-
What about the jobs?
If GreenPeace actually SOLVED ANYTHING they would have to close their doors. People fear being out of work. People fear the freedom that would come from solving the energy crisis and every other crisis. We have even come to fear doing the "right thing" by the rest of creation on this planet. Running on money reduces us to a lower form of life that makes stupid decisions. The automobile engine needs a total re-design, makeover. It's designed all wrong. As is now, the highly-efficient combustion engines (all kinds, + factories) are competing with human lungs, which are extremely inefficient. We actually exhale most of the oxygen we inhale. That's one big reason our bodies aren't metabolizing fat. Low oxygen = low metabolic rate. Google search for "self hyperbarics".
However, once we start doing things right, increment by increment, we will find how glorious it makes us feel. Once we latch onto that things may begin to change. Soon as the head parrot shuts up bragging about the low unemployment rate would help. Telling us slaves {i.e. taxpayers} we all have punch clock jobs is self-serving to those at the top of the Pyramid => http://tinyurl.com/3de6r7 . That page also tells how to stop malignant cancers with nutrition-induced chemical burns to the insides of cancer cells while not harming normal cells. -

We trust the Chinese a little too much
It shows here that the Naval War College was taken down last fall (Oct?). State Department was mostly taken down last year when North Korea was saber rattling and testing rockets. I seem to remember that State's failure was attributed to an MS Word email attachment. There are other attacks using various MS and Adobe products. Then there are things like cameras, phones, and music devices. Do you think before attaching them to your system? Have you disabled wireless connections to everything?
I've heard that they were using the Macintosh operating system. -

No More Malignant Cancers by the 7th Creative Day
I like that you said => "what we stumble on next" and thank you for it, as well your finishing comment how Laws of Physics could vary ahem. Another SlashDot article not many weeks ago -one that seems to get repeated every so often anyway- was telling us how the Universe is expanding and one day we will not see any stars in Earth's Sky. So now this parent article informs us the Universe has all these gigantia empty spaces. And yet, how many of the geniuses on SlashDot ~the same geniuses who keep modding me down and putting "Karma Bad" on my profile to warn people away from me?~ how many of them are genius enough to connect the dots between the two articles =>
=> The Bible's Creation account has not been signed off on yet. In the Bible, after each Creative Day it always ends with "And there came to be evening and there came to be morning, a 123456# day". That gives us more dots to connect, Mr. Lucas. Our weeks have 7 days so it looks like the first Bible "Creative Week" is missing a final => "And there came to be evening and there came to be morning, a 7th day". Time to collate these dots => Creation hasn't finished yet. The Universe is expanding to fill up all these giant holes in the Outer Space of our Universe. We are watching the completing of Creation, not as the scientists seek to fill us with heart-wrenching FEAR so we keep paying them 10% out of the Gross National Product.
Connecting the dots is my gift. I believe it is a God-given gift, and because I search the Scriptures for answers God has helped me find the answers for stopping the growth of malignant cancers in the human body. I invite you and all ./dotters to visit my website, specifically in the right sidebar, and you will find out that God is very much alive to have saved me from a vicious cancer that hit my right chest like a cannonball of death, without the aid of any medical doctors and their poison chemo treatments just last year: http://www.newpath4.com/. You or another reader might want to know what this means. It means the dots that were written for us in the book of Genesis aren't finished connecting yet. There are other dots scattered all through the Bible, written by men who never met as they were separated by 1500 years. They wrote prophecies in Ezekiel, Isaiah, the Psalms. Jesus came and added some more, specifically Matthew Chapter 24 and Luke Ch. 21. The dots are now up to the book of Revelation and they are still connecting.
Not only are the Bible "dots" connecting in internal linear agreement they have even connected outward to a non-biblical source, the Mayan calendar projection that we are already in 'era 2012', meaning it could happen any time and not be having to wait til Dec. 21 2012 at all, or could go past also. Many people are mistakenly wanting a specific Date, which of course tends to strike great fear in the populations, but this excerpt on that link => "According to John Major Jenkins, it will take 36 years to precess through the Galactic equator. The Galactic Alignment "zone" is 1998 +/- 18 years = 1980 to 2016. This is 'era 2012'." While I am no authority on the Mayan calendar this fellow John Major Jenkins seems to be right knowledgeable. In addition we also have a widespread belief of most Native American Indian tribes that someone like a white buffalo will arise and lead people to the God-Creator to know him better. The Bible does not give a specific date (although it appears overdue), the Mayans -

Existence of a Creator PLUS rational explanations
Sometimes we Creator-believers can be rational too => http://www.newpath4.com/malignantcancercellshtmte
x tbookdeathbygluttony2003releasebywoodrowrileyupdat ed2007pyramidworldcandystoregovernments.htm#inform ationaboutthePyramidWorldontopofyou . On that page you will find that I was able to show how malignant cancers can be destroyed by a nutrient-intense diet.
Which of course to many people they might not realize the full implications of that finding beyond the immediate resolution of billions of dollars not needing to be donated from tax monies over to the cancer research foundations by the wheelbarrow load. But for Jehovah's Witnesses who have been preaching of a coming worldwide Paradise of God {Psalms 37:11 => Meek shall inherit the Earth}, finding out that cancers can be destroyed by Good Food without us having to be strapped into a chemo chair and be poisoned near-to-darn Death is an eye opening revelation. Over-nutritioned cancer cells glutton-gorged on antioxidants gives the malignant cancer cells an internal chemical burn {death}.
Which means a tremendous stride forward in leaving our Science Bureaucracy Overlords in the dust. And that we do not have nearly as wide a chasm between where we are today -sickness and runaway disease, food shortages, world poverty and lack for potable water, climate control of the world environment- and where God's Kingdom Government will take us in the near future => Revelation 21:3,4. So many things are wrong with this world and it looks like our back is against the wall. But it is darkness before the dawn too. Industrial Age 2 has already begun -and would already be in motion- except the governments of the world have colluded together not to build my zero emission engines for fear you people would rethink religion. They also fear people being out of work (not having to work so much to pay for Energy having plenty of electricity from imitation energy engine designs) sitting around with time on their hands to read Plato {or my website, whichever is shorter}. Or people would find enough time on their hands to realize what a scam has been perpetuated on them by their own governments. Where is God? people ask. What has God been doing? Is He on an extended coffee break or VACATION? Maybe God was taking 55 years to work his Will, ever think of that? using a man to show His Engines and Imitation Energy? God's timetable is not the same as ours and his thoughts are higher than ours.
Things we think must be impossible have already had the equation written long ago. And THAT, my friends, is the truest mystery of God's Laws of Physics for all time, that Energy and Matter would be created both together at the exact same time -in balance- yet Energy had to be created before Matter because Matter is the 2nd form of Energy (Matter is stored Energy). At the same time yet one before the other, impossible for Man, possible for God. -

I know of a software copy protection technology (a type of DRM) that has not been cracked since it was first introduced about ten years ago. I was one of the authors of "Electric Image Animation System" for the Mac and PC. I had been writing my own copy protection software for years. Each time we released a new version of the software, I would make some small improvements to the copy protection system. When the copy protection was cracked I would carefully analyize how the crack was implemented and then come up with a better copy proteciton for the next version. Eventually I invented strong copy protection technology. I ended up getting three patents on the copy protection technology. Strong software copy protection is possible. It is a lot easier to implement than it is to crack. Unfortunately this does little to help DRM for content protection. Because music and video never changes when you watch it, there is no good way to wrap protection around it. If you can see or hear it, you can copy it. United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) Since 1790, the basic role of the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) has remained the same: to promote the progress of science and the useful arts by securing for limited times to inventors the exclusive right to their respective discoveries (Article 1, Section 8 of the United States Constitution). Today, the USPTO is a federal agency in the Department of Commerce, headquartered in Alexandria, Virginia. Through the issuance of patents, the USPTO encourages technological advancement by providing incentives to invent, invest in, and disclose new technology worldwide. Through the registration of trademarks, the agency assists businesses in protecting their investments, promoting goods and services, and safeguarding consumers against confusion and deception in the marketplace. I own and have watched the DVDs. The main mythology writers, Chris Carter and Frank Spotnitz, never said anything like what you're claiming. I've also read probably every interview they've ever given. While they often acknowledged that the mythology had become too confusing for the fans, they always maintained that they understood it and that it was often misunderstood by the fans. Some fans, like Andy Guess www.geocities.com/TelevisionCity/Studio/9013/myth. html, do understand it. And no, I'm not saying those who understand it are smarter than you or the average fan. Understanding the mythology isn't about intelligence. It's about memory and effort. It's about wasting so much of your time that you're actually able to remember all the key details, and then making the effort to piece them together. Most fans never did this, for a host of good reasons. That is why the series finale was in large part a recap of old news Carter and Spotnitz had already delivered, but which many had little awareness of.
http://www.xfroadrunners.com/articles/02junespotni tz.html
"The two-hour finale attempts to be as comprehensive in resolving many of the outstanding questions or uncertainties people may have about the series -- specifically the mythology. I think we provided a lot of these answers in that part, but unless you were taking notes for the past nine years, it's understandable if you may have forgotten or been confused by certain issues. For the first time in one place, you're going to see a pretty coherent explanation of everything the show has been about and, even more than that, a coherent explanation of everything the show has meant."
I reviewed some of the DVD material again. Could you be confusing Rob Bowman's statement as being from one of the main writers? If so, he was a director. The mythology was out of his purview. Here's the comment: "The mythology had gotten so thick and dense, and (there were) so many conspiracies and betrayals that after awhile you can't - the episodes we becoming too talky, too tough. Even the fans were having trouble keeping up with these episodes."
Spotnitz followed that with: ""We thought, you know, are we going to carry on with this conspiracy and continue to complicate it, or are we just going to do something no one expects and go ahead and blow up the conspiracy. And that seemed like the far more interesting path to take."
Some other quotes from interviews: http://www.nicklea.com/ew99.htm
Carter acknowledges the density of his creation. He will not, however, admit to what plagues many fans: profound confusion. The conspiracy, he maintains, "is not as complicated as you think."
Spotnitz: "I know there's a lot of questions of mythology that a lot of people still aren't clear on, but the reality is, most of the big answers have already been given."
"People who think there are all these unanswered questions tend not to have seen all the shows," says executive producer Frank Spotnitz. "If you really have paid attention, most of them have indeed been answered."
