Sqlite is one of the most widely distributed and used libraries in all of software. It has larger penetration than Linux, is more ubiquitous than zlib.

The other and more sinister reason is the massive attempt by SJWs to ram the toxic 'contributors covenant' by the vile Coraline Ada Ehmke and others is the creation of SJW thought police organization for all open source projects who are dumb enough to adopt it.
Essentially SJWs getting paid to sit at home combing through open source projects searching for cases of wrongthink and working behind the scenes in ideological star chambers to kick their ideological enemies.
Projects creating their own sane CoCs or even just mocking the push to adopt these toxic SJW CoCs infuriates them. They are trying to get every single open source project to adopt a single universal SJW CoC and place every project under ideological thought police.

Politicians can talk all the nonsense they want. Even if both sides are lying their heads off, there's still a such thing as objective facts. When voting for a politician (or a party depending on the electoral system), you do have to weigh their official platform and statements against what you know about them, but for a proposition you have the actual text of the proposition and actual expert opinions on the effects that you can research. Journalists not highlighting that information and making it easily accessible means they are doing a bad job as journalists, but "the news coverage of this election is bad" is a very different statement from "the effects of this election are unknownable; it's impossible to make an informed decision" (see this quote: "Journalism lecturer Jonathan Foster: 'If someone says it’s raining & another person says it’s dry, it’s not your job to quote them both. Your job is to look out of the fucking window and find out which is true.'").

Not really that minor this time
I generally agree with your sentiment about many Apple Events being big press releases (though not very expensive for Apple at all considering the coverage they get!!).
However, I don't think the hardware changes for the iPad this time are all that minor. They'll probably be getting FaceID for one, also the latest processors and neural engine that are in the latest iPhones, so that is quite a large performance boost.
Especially interesting is how much the latest Apple processors have helped increase Javascript speed, due to adding specific processor support for Javascript floats...

Git commit dates can be faked so there is also an announcement from @BlackHatEvents about it from June 24.

As soon as there is a form of coordinated messaging towards a political target it can be called spamming, or petitioning. And for political activists coordinated messaging is one of the few tools they have. There is also a lot of horizontal spreading of news. This is a head on attack on free speech, combined with the usual PR saying everything's fine.
But just look at what the indy media are saying, how they experience it.
How many followers does a fake account have you think? The Free Thought Project and Nation in Distress had 3 million followers. Anti media: 2 million.Reverb Press,700000. Press For Truth 350000. A lot of the smaller sites are telling. Sites monitoring police abuse are shut down.

I can't imagine using Photoshop without a keyboard and mouse, or not being able to access my files from my file server. Video renedering on the iPad will probably suck donkey balls.
Blackmagic also charges high prices for their gear as Apple does. Need an HDMI to USB3 capture device? Blackmagic is $300. Any generic company is $50.
I take public transit. A local bus take me down the street to pick up the express bus, the express bus drops me off in Palo Alto, and a local bus take me down the street to my job. An hour each way. Driving through Palo Alto during rush hour is insane. Since I work in government I.T., I start work at 7:00AM.
For a final project in Small Group Communications, my four Vietnamese classmates appointed me to do all the work and be the speaker because I was white. So I did all the work and spoke in front of the class. Our instructor, a black woman, gave me all their credit for the assignment and forced them to retake the class. They screamed "white privilige" all the way to administration and their complaint landed on deaf ears. They couldn't prove that they did anything to merit a grade and cheerleading from the back of the room doesn't count.

You can even make video of yourself going to pick up AmazonTM parcel at the convenience store and post it on your youtube channel for more redundant revenue streams.
They also have a wide supply, the best of lattes, clif/power bars and microwave popcorn at the best cost, espicially if you make a friend buy them for you with your own affiliate link!

Neither of those actually prove that when he announced that he wanted to make Tesla a private company, that he did not actually ever intend to do so. If it was not legally possible for him to do, then why would it have caused a panic in the first place?
Now, to address the particulars....
The first thread you mentioned was isolated, and was approximately 4 months earlier... I would suggest that it is more circumstantial than anything else. It might be more prudent to examine what was happening at Tesla at the time that prompted the remark than to assume it was relevant to his later comments in August about making Tesla private.
The second link you provided is not him so-called rambling incessantly about a single topic, it is a search result showing tweets by Musk over a period of time that happen to contain the word "shorts". You don't go around assuming that this is evidence that Musk has some sort of weird thing about eggs that he keeps bringing the topic up, do you?

Musk has tweeted that the article is incorrect. Good. James Murdoch tries to paint himself as the "renegade son" who rejects his father's philosophy, while actually sharing a large chunk of it, and engaging in just as scummy tactics (see the BBC phone hacking scandal.... the resulting investigation of which basically declared James as unfit to manage a corporate board).

A few notes: There is reporting out a couple hours ago that a financing package is still being attempted: https://twitter.com/CGasparino... By the wording, it appears to be a DIP package but would be cautious assuming that (still think it's a few months though: https://slashdot.org/comments....).
The Solar City bond payment of $230m is almost here as well as the massive March convert so something needs to be done as the Q3 numbers are almost certainly dismal. And any talk of senior refinancing will certainly cause some suppliers to go COD hindering production greatly.
As far as its effects on the equity, it's clearly going to be just above worthless in any deal, but it could hang out in double-digits for a while. And don't forget that a drop below $200 will snowball Elon's pledged shares into margin-call territory. So be cautious about any sub-$100 puts that look oh-so-tasty, stick with the closer strikes.
Lastly, Musk's attacks on shortsellers are simply scapegoating and desperation at this point. The amount of short shares available is plentiful and actually increased yesterday during the big drop. The downward pressure was clearly large long holders dumping. The blame for this company's failure is solely on his shoulders.
