actually its not an ad hominem attack,, both remarks are irrellevant My personal observation and question with this idea is what happens through no fault of our own, jobs are automated to the extent that even the burger flipping jobs are automated out of existence and a living wage becomes a necessity like it or not. I foresee this as a problem the millennials will be dealing with en mass with in the next 5 to 10 years. I'm not entirely sure whether Cruz is Waylon or Madame...
It's "Wayland". Get your gay puppeteer references straight.
Oh, and here's a little gift for your thoughtful and appreciative comment:
[Many people forget that in the '70s, Wayland and Madame were so popular that they actually made movies. This clip is from the unforgettable "Norman...Is That You?" with Redd Foxx. Also, I apologize to the young'ns that will be completely puzzled by the reference.]

Re:Without Steve Jobs
Before the iPhone no one was marketing smartphones to consumers. It was essentially a new product category.
Yeah, that's why at the introduction of the iPhone, Steve Jobs pointed out how stupid previous smartphones were. Because that market didn't even exist.

I can hear you say "But I said: 'Consumers'!" - Well, quote Wikipedia; "Beginning with the 8700-series models in 2006, RIM began to aggressively add consumer features to BlackBerry models, in an aim to capture more of the consumer market from competitors such as Treo and Motorola Q".

Re: More "pleasant" weather
https://youtu.be/qeNCp6KhiTI?t...
The NOAA maps show a general reduction in rainfall west of the rockies as well.
Cali has droughts and they are predictable in that they come in cycles. We can put them on a time line. You know that right after you have one you're unlikely to have another right away... right?
So... why is that if its unpredictable? If there is no pattern then you chances of getting a drought are the same every day. In fact, the droughts should end unpredictably as well. Just there one day and gone the next. That one persists for any amount of time and you know it is going to at LEAST last a certain amount of time implies a pattern. That you know you're not going to get one right after you had the last one implies a pattern.
As the saying goes, we're just arguing price now. A reference to the joke where a young woman is offered a lot of money to sleep with a man... and she accepts... he then offers a much lower price and she protests that she's not a whore. He responds that her offer of sex for money is already on record... they're just negotiating price.
That there is a pattern is beyond your ability to refute. Even within the confines of this argument without doing any research you'd have to concede a pattern. Really, all we're arguing is accuracy. And my accuracy claims had margins of error that went into about a decade give or take. That's a lot of flexibility for timing there.
What is more, making your east of the rockies argument doubly silly is that water conservation efforts east of the rockies are currently imposing much less extreme consequences on residents and farmers. Why? They have the infrastructure to deal with it.
California has over built housing and under built water infrastructure. That was my point.
Please... prove my point by being pedantic. That is exactly why things don't get fixed. That is an attitude which solves nothing. There's a reason you don't see that sort of attitude tolerated in places that require quick responses in a goal oriented environment. I mean... your every rebuttal is just an unintentional argument in my favor. See it.

Of course it's nice weather, we made it that way.
I have yet to see a "Climate Change" study that corrects for the ongoing non-CO2 weather modifications:
Video from US Weather Service satellites showing the clear and obvious production of thick cloud formation by coordinated steam releases. In the right conditions this can produce rain, or increase severity of a storm.
Here's a neat 7min video about the South Texas Weather Modification Association, who helps make it rain for the benefit of Texas farmers.
Interesting that the mention "silver iodide" as their weather acceleration chemical since that is among many of the chemicals, along with aluminum oxide, that soil samples are showing increasing amounts of, esp. in California.
Weather Modification is real, but "Climate Change" is propaganda this is evident because their measurements do not correct for our weather manipulations (esp. cloud heating via NEXRAD microwave). I suspect the messaging is designed to manufacture your consent for a global tax on all goods and services called: "Carbon Tax". Meanwhile allowing polluters to keep polluting. For example: Companies already buy "carbon credits" offset by dumping iron in the ocean to cause algae blooms which allegedly sequester CO2. Is this the sort of activity you what you want to fund with globalism taxes?
Here's a video of a nozzle on a commercial airliner wing spraying chemicals to create the so-called "Chem Trails" we use to assist in weather modification. It's similar to the silver iodide flare method, but in much greater volume.
Sometimes the chemicals are added to jet fuel instead. Here you can see the chemical trails being turned on and off.
Don't be fooled. We have been geoengineering the weather like this for decades.

You might be right, or not, depending on what happens...
But frankly, how far is that from being able to run a trencher?

Re:I've got nothing against Bill Nye
Nothing the leading denialists say comes from observations
Here are observations of real weather engineering going on right before your eyes. It's know-it-alls like you who chose to do no actual research and thus have zero valid opinions.
and nothing they claim is later verified experimentally.
Nothing anyone on either side of the "climate debate" can be verified experimentally while we are manipulating the weather, dufus. You're not even in the general direction of a valid topic on the climate issue. You should be asking why none of the "Climate Scientists" are correcting for the existing weather modification programs. And you should be asking not only who is paying for and benefiting from all the nice engineered weather, but also HOW MUCH they benefit, and whether or not they they sometimes make mistakes, like when we accidentally flooded Houston last week...
We haven't had natural weather patterns in about three decades, and that's OK. You shouldn't be scared or indignant about it. You're welcome. Ignorant, but welcome.
-
Weather Modification Skews Results
How can Climate Scientist get any useful data when we are modifying the weather.
There are hundreds of Weather Modification programs such as this one in south Texas. That's just cloud seeding or "chemtrails" as some conspiracy theorists call them (video of spray nozzle). Sometimes the weather modification uses fuel additives, sometimes they use aluminum particles, these sprays can be turned on and off in mid flight. We also coordinate massive vapor releases from power plants to promote storms. I've seen evidence of directional energy systems that can heat the clouds to create greater temperature differentials. Some heat the particles we spray, others heat the ionosphere. Basically they're just larger versions of this.
Forgive me for not being alarmed. We control the weather to a great degree. Of course the media is silent on this -- liability from floods alone would be a nightmare if the general populace knew who to sue. We are creating the warmer weather and nicer climates by inducing greenhouse effect via metallic particles, not CO2. Until these factors are eliminated, I can't trust any "Climate Study" which doesn't mention correcting for the extensive weather manipulation going on. Hint: They're just trying to scare you into accepting some global tax. (this time it's a "Carbon Tax" on all items and labor the UN is shooting for). FFS, they already sell weather manipulation derivatives.
The climate debate is not over whether or not we should do something about climate change, it's about whether or not we should do MORE or LESS weather manipulation. We were afraid of "global cooling" remember that? Well, we did something about it! It's working quite well! Don't buy into scaremongering. That's just the UN and others trying to manufacture consent to accept new legislation.
If you're not educated on weather manipulation then you've been duped and your opinion on the climate is baseless. Time to get educated folks. Let's just take a deep breath, relax, let your fear pass over and through you, and where it has gone only healthy skepticism should remain. It's all going to be OK, we know what we're doing, we've been controlling Weather with Science for decades. We could probably even solve the problem of massive volcanic plumes or asteroid ash blocking out the sun. Everything is going to be OK. Hell, I haven't even told you about our secret space program's capabilities...

Woz on Apple an taxes
He was asked twice point blank if Apple should pay more taxes and twice he avoided answering the question:

Here's part of the problem...
“The task force staff’s backgrounds are as diverse as the community they will be engaging with and include former reporters, bloggers, public affairs specialists, designers, Ready for Hillary alumni, and Hillary super fans who have led groups similar to those with which the task force will organize,”
Have any of this staff ever hustled, sweat, or bled in labors producing real, useful goods/services? When $ buys "speech" like this, just go ahead and stamp "fascist oligarchy" or something similar across the country and be done with it. The force of "speech" should lie in it's validity/logic/truth, not in $'s ability to shout down, chant mantra over, or exclude the speech of others.
I watch something like this https://youtu.be/jcQF2AUaWzw and wonder if we stand a snowball's chance in hell of dodging full institutionalized mass slavery...

Re:Horrible Music
Thanks for the link to that video. I never really got into Prince that much, and I certainly did not appreciate his talent with a guitar. Until now. That performance gave me chills.
-
Re:Horrible Music
He was nothing but a talentless hack with a major identity crisis.
Eric Clapton was once asked how it felt to be the world's greatest guitarist. His response: "I don't know. Ask Prince."
If anything, Prince was the opposite of someone with a "major identity crisis". He knew exactly who he was and did not give one single fuck if you didn't like it. Watch his solo on While My Guitar Gently Weeps from his induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, and tell me if you think he looks like someone who has an identity crisis.
He strolls onstage in the middle of the song, at about 3:25 in the video. And all the other rock stars on stage just give him room and watch with their mouths open. He ends his Citizen Kane of guitar solos by doing the guitar equivalent of a mic drop, except instead of dropping the guitar he sort of just flips it up to air and pimp-walks off the stage like he owns the motherfucker. My guess is the guitar ascended directly into heaven, because it knew it could never top that moment.
That my friends, is how a rock star makes an entrance and an exit.
Prince was the ultimate musical nerd. He not only could play every instrument on his records, but could do all of it better than most people who play those instruments. He was five foot goddamn four inches tall and still managed to be the Jesus of scoring hot babes.

Re:Bony fish did not evolve from sharks
Anyway, the research is about gills, not fins, so that is another journalistic crime from mirror.co. It would have been more honest to run a headline along the lines that shark gills and human hands are essentially the same, but then would anybody read it?
Not really, if anyone were interested they'd probably already seen the segment on Attenborough's "Rise of the Animals". Besides, you can't expect much in the way of science reporting from the Mirror.

Re: Wow
What about motorcycles? Where do you buy petrol after all the cars are gone?
Electric motorcycles with performance to rival ICE bikes are already available. The bike in this video is a pure prototype built by Japanese motor racing specialist company Mugen specifically to compete in the "Zero" race at the Isle of Man TT, but given Mugen's close ties to Honda, it's a given that the technology being trialled on the Mugen Shinden machine is going to end up in a battery powered Fireblade equivalent before very long.

The apple tree song, with Shemp from the Three Stooges is in it as well.
But yeah, the inabilty to hold a note is no impediment if a person is "hot" enough today. The odd thing is that autotune has the same effect on me as running fingernails on a blackboard does. We're supposed to like it?
-
Re:A suggestion
That's what just slays me about listening to old music on Youtube. Singers like the Andrews Sisters, or the Statler Brothers, or even someone like Willie Nelson, (here seen in his extremely rare "young" look) damn all of them sang every note without autotune, or lip-synching, or any external help whatsoever. It's baffling, how could they have done that? I suppose it's just part of the culture that the West has lost, along with young people being able to be exposed to opinions that disagree with their own without fainting.

The proper way is to put your hands in completely, then slowly move them upwards once (twice if you want your hands really really dry).
The airflow is pointed slightly downwards, and the 'air wall' keeps almost all of the water below that line. It's really simple and really effective for those who actually think about it or follow the instructions on the damn things.
Here's a video demonstrating this apparently baffling procedure:
