Yes, there's a lot of crap, especially at -1, but you find those nuggets that have a ton of cool info.
If the presidents ass-hatery has put us into record deficits... That forces congress (who i'm no great fan of) into a very bad situation. I'm sorry, did I miss the decrease in federal spending somewhere?
Spending hasn't gone down, and won't go down. Ever.

I didn't think DECnet was responsible for logicals. I thought that was the file system...
Give me logicals, VMSish symbols and most importantly, file versioning on another OS.....
NOW we're talking....

Everytime some sort of a list comes out, whether it's top 100 songs, best ice cream flavor, all time movies, you're always going to have "aww man, X needs to be there," or "why did Y get there? they suck."
It's a list man. It's opinion. It's a list of Blogs, and it's not that big of a deal.
Maybe in blogebrity's eyes, Margaret Cho doesn't have anything to say? Maybe she says more than those D-Listers that DIDN'T make it.
It doesn't look like they explained their system here.
There's no ISO available online. It's to encourage you to buy the CD, which is well worth it.
That being said, you can download just enough to do an FTP/HTTP install. It's pretty easy.
ZeroConf lets iTunes search for other local iTunes and share media libraries. IIRC only iTunes knows how to talk to these other iTunes instances, because there's no ZeroConf standard "media library" facility.
Not to pick nits, this was a very informative post, but Limewire for Mac OS X also knows / shares iTunes libraries.
You mean like airfoil?

Flamebait?! Didn't anyone see OfficeSpace? The above reply is on-topic AND insightful.

I've heard that you can run IE under Wine. That kind of knocks the wind out of the whole "it's inseperable" argument.
Ahhh... Serenity now.
I think you missed the point.
He's running Ubuntu on his iBook, which does not support the internal modem.
Why he's running Ubuntu instead of the perfectly functioning MacOSX, is perhaps the subject of another article.
This is possible. I found a "hack" for it in MacAddict or MacWorld a few months back.
It required drilling down into a ludicrous amount of files and folders.
Takes a reboot as well.
But it survived the Tiger upgrade.
No..
No.

DECnet will never die! You can encapsulate it within an IP packet!
Greenhouses aren't going to show up green from space.
Rarely do you see a flat roofed greenhouse. I bet you're mostly seeing sunlight glare off of the roof.
Again? When were they called capitalists?
You must read /. too much, or waaay too little.
I get mod points (have them now in fact) what I think is pretty frequently.
A couple of times a day, I'll visit and view a few articles... maybe a moderate use?

I don't know how attached you are to Gaim, but if you're interested in a terminal n-curses based IM program, check out naim.
Sims came out when? 2000? 2001?
But your right. People playing as real people who are themselves boring is a game-play innovation.
Not that I didn't waste hours on that.
