Fee speech for all of course, but when Apple simply ignores that and bans apps because of their content, the fanbois become conspicuously silent.

Nice rant, but you have it ass-backwards. The DUI app should not be removed/banned (free speech blah blah blah), but at the same time Apple should not be excluding apps that are subject to the same arguments about freedom of speech. Yet they do and their morality, if that is indeed the basis of their decision to not allow soft porn, comes across as more than a bit bent.

Apple's puritanical censors don't allow boobs in the app store but have no problem with apps like this? Someone's moral compass is a bit wonky...

Interesting the lack of scientific subjects amongst his claims. Yes, he mentions psychology but I'm talking about things like physics and mathematics which are not that easy to plagiarise or regurgitate from other sources without justification.

  8. Immaculate Conception != virgin birth on Immaculate Conception In a Boa Constrictor · · Score: 1

Whilst both absurd concepts, they are not the same thing. The immaculate conception was something invented by the catholic church to plug a loophole in the story about a mere human giving birth to a god.

It seems like any kind of Linux usage statistics you see these days are just a load of hot air. Hopefully this will provide some solid data and hopefully Canonical will make it public. I for one will happily enable it.

Dreaded? Incredibly annoying? Come one, it's just a trumpet. I get the feeling that after all the prophets of doom predicted the stadiums wouldn't be finished and the fans would be murdered by criminals, they have nothing left to complain about except the little trumpets.

You say you're not even sure about compatibility and then say there are too many compatibility issues? Sounds like you don't even own an Android device. I have encountered no such issues and apps are not restricted to Android versions. I have written a couple of apps on a 1st gen Android 1.5 phone and they all worked flawlessly on my new HTC Desire (2.1) when I loaded them from the market place. No rebuild necessary, they all work on 1.5, 1.6, 2.0 and 2.1
