Yes it is a genius idea. Until you factor in how disgusting rental cars are when returned and the amount of mechanical abuse rental cars receive. I would assume that Tesla would want to give the best possible impression to their customer as possible. Relying on a car that is managed by a rental agency as the quality representative for future sales is very risky.

My local ABC affiliate in Cleveland, Ohio experienced technical difficulties during the entire broadcast.

    http://www.cleveland.com/tv-blog/index.ssf/2010/05/lost_goes_out_on_symbolic_note_but_finale_is_lost_for_many_channel_5_viewers.html

I am a DishNetwork customer, and I was quick to try and blame the weather shifting the position of my dish. I also have an over the air antenna connected to my DN DVR. After stepping outside and noticing the air was calm and not a cloud in the sky, I went back and compared the Standard Definition signal from DN, the High Definition signal from DN, and the HD signal over the air. All feeds were experiencing extreme pixilation, then picture loss and drops in the audio feed. This process of pixilation, video loss, and audio loss would happen between every 1 to 4 minutes. My DishNetwork DVR has a meter which gives me a measure of the over the air signal strength. Throughout the entire episode last night the signal read at 100%, and yet I was still experiencing the pixilation and audio drop outs. I've waited six years for this finale, and for four and half hours last night I was cursing like a sailor at my TV. I thought it was funny that the local ABC affiliate was encouraging viewers to join their online chat while the show aired. I checked out the chat log, and it was riddled with complains on the video/audio feed.

So I wish I could comment on how the series ended. But I can't comment until after work today when I'll have time to watch the episode at abc.com.

This experience proves to me that far too many concessions have been made for local HD channels to put up a poorly broadcast signal. Cleveland Ohio is rated 18th in market size in the United states. Why is it they are able to get away with substandard performance you'd expect from Green Bay with a market rank of 139.

I will speak from first hand experience. I was driving a 1988 Ford Ranger. The heavy duty floor mat under my feet jammed up around the accelerator, and the truck began to accelerate out of control. I pounded my foot down on the brake to no avail as the torque was far too great.

I was able to maintain a cool enough head to think through the process of putting the vehicle into neutral, and to then turn off the engine. This process is not rocket science. What boggles my mind even more so are the people who opt to calling 911 before trying to engage a car into neutral or turn off the ignition.

This is definitely an interesting article; I'll have to take some time later to read through it once more because of some observations of my own personal experience. In 2006 I owned a GSM Motorola V3 RAZR. Keeping in mind like most Motorola's, their radiation was always pretty high compared to competing brand phones.

It never failed that any time I'd fall asleep in the room with my cellphone, I'd suddenly wake up moments before the phone would ring. I'd ask whoever called me if this is the first time they called or had they been calling me earlier. I was always bewildered thinking, 'well the phone must have been ringing earlier,' and that must be why I suddenly woke up. And every time I asked, the person on the other line would always respond, no, this was their first call. But now I'm almost led to believe that the GSM radio is what would wake me up.

Ever place a GSM phone next to a speaker and hear static, or leave a GSM phone next to a CRT and watch the degauss waves across the screen moments before the phone actually rings, or before a text message is received? I suppose if the radio is strong enough to interfere with a speaker or monitor, it'd be strong enough to screw with my head. :/

Has anyone thought that maybe the applications like weather and stocks are transmitting the IMEI number to Apple so that they are only providing service for their widgets on their own product?

What if I took a Nokia Symbian phone and hacked together a widget that queried Apple for an update on stocks and weather? I would think Apple would be mildly upset that I were exploiting their service. The sensible action would be to have the server query the IMEI number and verify it is transmitting data to a allowed recipient.

But that's just me using common sense and my extreemly rudimentary knowledge of technology. Sorry I forgot this is SlashDot. I now patiently await the attacks on my grammar, spelling, poor knowledge of mobile phone platforms and even worse knowledge of how the internets works. Because it's really just all a series of tubes. Wireless tubes without locks or valves.

  25. Re:Remember MusicMatch? Just wait. on Hacked iPhones Confirmed As Bricking With Latest Update · · Score: 1

Yes, that's exactly what Apple needs to do, set up an MVNO network like Disney Mobile. Why look at the success Disney Mobile has experienced with Steve Jobs on Disney's Board of Directors. Oh that's right, Disney Mobile is scheduled to fold at the end of this year.

Maybe this has all been a part of Steve's grand plan, to eliminate internal competition under his share holding umbrella because Apple intends to buy out a smaller national carrier like T-Mobile USA or a large regional carrier like Alltel rather than creating their own MVNO which may follow suit like all the others and fail(excluding Helio for this brief moment).

Which leads me to wonder why Virgin Mobile USA has met such success as an MVNO on the Sprint Network. Helio is on Sprint as well, right? I bet Sprint/Nextel's relinquishing the IDEN network to the government has a lot to do with their success.

Wowee! Wild speculation and conspiracy thoeries abound in this post! I hope I don't take a hit in Karma on this one.
