Unfortunately you are right. IT should fit the business, not the other way.
If the business has need for iPhones, Lord knows why, then it should be added to the IT support contract. That said, IT's customers should be willing to pay then for the increase in support costs.
People outside of IT tend to think of IT costs as non-existent. They're not, every additional printer, PDA, phone, etc, etc... have cost, support and maintenance at the most basic level.
IT should not just give in to the inevitable outcome though, we need to challenge the users. Make sure they know what they are really getting themselves (and us) into. They may win but they'll be more knowledgeable in the long run.
enough rambling...back to setting up a test system...rassinfrassin users...rassinfrassin...
They do release content patches on a fairly regular basis. The last one 2.3 added a new dungeon and few other things. So your not paying for "nothing"...you do pay for something. It's up to you to decide if it's worth the $14 a month.
I leave work at work for the most part. Exceptions include deadlines and emergencies, and they are few and far between.
However, 4 of my coworkers and myself play WOW (World of Warcraft) on an almost nightly basis together. We don't discuss work when we play, except if we're trying to find the one person who knows how to fix the emergency at work. I think I did that once.
Another caveat, my wife, father-in-law, and 2 of my wifes Uncles work at the same place as me. Separate depts thank god, but still, we talk about work at home, home at work. But that's usually the gossipy stuff.
But if I try my damndest to forget what I was doing the moment I walk out the door at 4pm. My thoughts are on my daughter, wife, and whether I'll have a margarita when I'm playing WOW. Printing problems, MRP issues...I try to let them go.
So it's me I'm a segmentor, but life makes me an integrator.
You have a license for the NTSC 640x480 version of movie X because you bought it. You do not have a license for the HD 1920x180 version of movie X.
It's a minor difference yes. But one the MPAA would/could focus on.
You technically get more info with the HD version. And by downloading it with out having bought the "Official HD Version of X", it could be considered Copyright Infringement.
I personally think it's BS. So I probably won't be buy BD or HD disks any time soon.
It was not programmed to tail-gate, it just happened to be so good at what it was doing that it caught up to the CMU vehicle and eventually passed it.
And it was using laser sensors and video cameras to visualize it's enviroment. It's a pretty remarkable system. Makes me wish I'd stayed in school for A.I. programming.
Coding reports in a factory cannot be as much fun as coding a toureg to drive through the desert.
The first Monday after Thanksgiving has always been and will always be Deer Slaying Day. Hell, we have off for work and school, just so we can go slay some of those fierce creatures.
Sheesh...get it right.
It's kind of like Snake Whacking day...only with deer.
I put in "Weird Al", First they gave me "I lost on Jeopardy", then the Kinks with "In a Foreign Land", now it's the Rembrandts - "Just the way it is, Baby".
While I can see the similarities in syncopation and tone and music feel, it doesn't match the lyrics or the feel of the song. When I'm in a "Weird Al" mood, it's not a Rembrandts mood. The Kinks, maybe.
Ok, now it's "Tears in the Rain" by Triumph....uh guys...not really...
It's a novelty. If anything it can give you a jumping off point for finding new bands. It might actually be better served in the "Indie" community. Give them the well known band you like, and it gives you all the related Indie music. That I would like.
Doing something just because a commercial tells you not too.
I'm the same way..

They don't like the Browns?

Not warriors...Hunters!
After the last 2.3 patch Activision was so pissed off about how overpowered hunters are they had to take matters into their own hands.
Their company pre-form must have gotten owned in Warsong by a bunch of twinked hunters.
Sean D.
amen to that...

It's 1907.
That's one I have thought of. And it would actually make a good story.
hmm...I'll have to reread it now from that point of view.
Sean
your formatting may be off, but want you wrote made sense.
You got your point across at any rate.
Thanks for the insight.

Except maybe for "Crazy"... I'm not sure if he still wants Brittany in the same way.
Sean
Fans should know this.
You're not.
I'm right there with you.

When I was there I only read it for the Police blogs. They were the best part.
I can't really see it matching the Washington Post or New York Times any time soon.

Thank you...I was going nuts with this thing trying to figure it out.

All the major manufactures have a system like this, and most likely are already deployed in New York or LA.
This is not a new idea.
Hell I use permanent ink on discs all the time, never had an issue.

Mind you, moose bites can be nasty.

How about 1 copy of the game can run on 4-6 PCs on a LAN? I'd hate to have to buy 3 or 4 copies of the software just to have a family game.
Hotseat would work, but if you have the extra PCs, why go that route?

It took it like 10 songs to get to a Frank Zappa. Parody, comedy, satire...I would have thought that the songs related to each other like that.
But it's based on music not content...
