From what I can tell from over hear accross the pond is that the economic crisis might be the lever that get's them tossed out.
Partly true. I think the main issue, apart from the fact that they've now been there long enough for everything to be thier fault, is that whilst, technically, we elect a party, not a prime minister - the last general election, Tony Blair was PM. He stepped down, and we've had an effectively un-elected PM since.
Many people therefore feel that Gordon Brown wasn't elected... he's also a terrible public speaker, has no charisma or charm, and used to be the chancellor - so people blame him personally for the economic crisis.
Yeh. He's gone as soon he runs out of time. I'm not sure exactly how much longer he can defer a general election, but I know he's done it at least once.
ok so I wasn't thinking, forgot about my tags, and now I look like the fool... should look like this..
What you're after is something like...
1) Graphene Transistors Run Linux
2) Year of Linux on the Desktop
3) Imagine a Beowulf cluster of Graphene Transistors running Linux
4) In Soviet Russia, Year of Linux on the Desktop runs Beowulf cluster of Graphene Transistors
5) But does it run Vista / Crysis ?
6)...
7) Profit!
You, Sir, appear to be the new one here.
I shall now let myself out whilst I learn to preview

doesnt count towards karma, but should still affect the post's rating (ie what level you browse at to see it)
What probably happend is that he got modded +1 funny and then -1 Overrated (since overrated just removes points without changing the funny or whatever).
It highly depends on the size of the company you want to work for. The bigger the company, the less say the tech department has in the hiring process and the bigger the role of degrees.
What this guy said.
I don't work in IT, but I do have a decent job in a bank (compliance transaction monitoring/trade investigation type work), and I don't have a degree (I don't even have A levels, which are roughly equivalant to graduating high school). What I have done is worked my balls off for 5 years since I left school. And now I'm in the same position as people who have *just* left Uni, except that I have experience, contacts and I don't have £10k + of debt to show for it.
I got lucky a couple of times, sure. But basically, you need to be able to prove you're as good as you say you are. Charm and confidence in interviews helps, and nice stuff on your resume is good. A degree is basically a nice thing on your resume... 3 years of relevant experiance where you did X "cost saving" or Y "process improvement" is worth way more than saying you got drunk for 3 years and managed to remember facts for a test.
You'll want to do a bit more research into biomass before declaring it a winner... they're cutting down massive areas of natural rainforest to frow biomass "crops". CO2 levels may be good, but overall enviromental impact is BAD BAD BAD.
You should try living in the UK. Those cards are about the same price (except swap the $ for a £, so its about twice the price).
Couple of years ago I got a 8800GTX 512 when it was shiny and new. Cost about £450 GBP - thats well over $800 USD.
Saying that, I don't complain, because I can run Crysis at 1600x1050 with all the settings up maxed, (including AAx16, and all the texture/shadow/lighting effects maxed) - AND IT RUNS VISTA!!!
For that kind of use, you don't need a graphics card at all, unless your MOBO doesn't have on board VGA, in which case your mobo is so old that you're better off spending ~$200 on the cheapest POS pc you can find.
This is a really good point, and I'd mod you up if you weren't AC... or if I had points.
The thing here, though, is to value everything you save, either in time or money. Don't say "I improved this, this and that", you say "I improved this that and the other which saved us $$$ and (n)Manhours). Speak their language to big yourself up!

Reincarnation is a Shaman ability requiring a reagent, allowing the Shaman to bring him or her self back to life after death
Ressurection is an ability shared by Shaman, Priests, Paladins and Druids, allowing a dead party or raid member to be brought back to life.
