"The LDS Church offers free genealogy software that you can use as you do your genealogy research. It is called Personal Ancestral File (PAF) and is one of the best software programs for genealogy. It helps users organize their family history records. It can produce, either on screen or on paper, family histories, pedigree charts, family group records, and other reports to help users in their search for missing ancestors."
The easiest way to get your math back is to contact the Math department, get a list of Math tutors and work with them to get back up to speed. They will know all the tricks and current books to use.
Tried a search for *Cuil*, which according to the their site: "Cuil is an old Irish word for knowledge."
Also, tried an iconic ghost towns * Terlingua Texas* site of biggest chile cook off every year.
Results of both searches, first five pages or so, were mainly named restaurants and other name branded commercial services.
It certainly an't Google.
From the article:
"the material is most effective between 450 and 950 Fahrenheit"
So simply plug this into a geothermal source, instant energy solution until Earth's core freezes.
Well the liability threat just decreased a bit after the ruling in the Tiffany vs eBay case.
In a long-awaited decision in a four-year-old trademark lawsuit against eBay brought by the jeweler Tiffany and Company, Judge Richard Sullivan of the Federal District Court in Manhattan ruled Monday that the online retailer does not bear a legal responsibility to prevent its users from selling counterfeit items on its marketplace.
I am not tired of hearing about it. I am TIRED of it never leaving the lab. I am tired of a lackluster-lipservice-bullshit attitude in government from local municipalities to federal about properly funding the reasearch and subsidizing the resultant industry and production of products.
I agree!
What do you think of having each posting come with a disclaimer stating whether the technology is available to be purchased or not?
is bound to be some combination that is going to go into production. People are looking at this from all angles and improving on previous research, like this dye concentrator effect from 20(+) years ago.
I for one am not tried of reading about new solar innovations, we have got to free ourselves from oil.
I agree, don't hold back.
Give each of them a set amount of money for books/graphic novels, then go with them to the book store and see what they pick out, where their interests lie. Now with this information you can make meaningful future suggestions.
Newly declassified Pentagon report, February 2008, Bioeffects of Selected Non-Lethal Weapons , obtained under the Freedom of Information Act
http://blog.wired.com/defense/2008/02/report-nonletha.html
"The "Voice of God" device, which creates voices in people's heads. As the report notes, "Application of the microwave hearing technology could facilitate a private message transmission. It may be useful to provide a disruptive condition to a person not aware of the technology. Not only might it be disruptive to the sense of hearing, it could be psychologically devastating if one suddenly heard 'voices within one's head.'"
If you did indeed have influenza then you have a bit to wait until your are no longer shedding the virus.
"Mayo Clinic study indicates that many hospitalized influenza patients shed flu virus for at least 7 days after they fall ill,..."
Like stated above use a mild disinfectant to wipe it down or just leave it out in the full sun for a hour or so.
The article is really light on details, yes IRTFA.
It describes its use of a "highly sensitive MRI variant, called diffusion spectrum imaging (DSI), to depict the orientation of multiple fibers that cross a single location."
So what they found was the highways or major paths that neuronal axons use when they "cross a single location".
Sporns said. "We can measure a significant correlation between brain anatomy and brain dynamics. This means that if we know how the brain is connected we can predict what the brain will do."
This is like saying that since we know what highways connect between certain cities we can now predict what the cities will do.
There was no mention of the primitive brain, "limbic system", or how that system connects to and interacts with the cortex or how this interaction fits into their findings.
Don't get me wrong, this information is significant importance, especially for neurosurgeons, neurosurgery intervention and brain injury assessment, especially if these patterns prove to have a degree of consistency in a large scale study.
Mozilla's record-breaking attempt to massively release Firefox 3.0, unfortunately this broke some of its servers as well.
Gina Trapani, editor of Lifehacker.com noted, "Uh-oh, getfirefox.com taking forever to load already... this is like a scheduled, 24-hour DOS attack," she said.
According to the NYT article, The Associated Press believes that:
"As content creators, we firmly believe that everything we create, from video footage all the way down to a structured headline, is creative content that has value," and "We are not trying to sue bloggers," Mr. Kennedy said. "That would be the rough equivalent of suing grandma and the kids for stealing music. That is not what we are trying to do."
Bringing up music theft and suing Grandma into the discussion really helps clarify your goals !
Except, Apple is using A-GPS, which supplements regular satellite GPS data with info from cellular towers, so Apple could restrict GPS to only those with current cellular activation. Tis will make the GPS makers happy:)
Negroponte said Bender was burned out after helping to shape OLPC for two years"
But Bender already has new plans: to launch an independent effort to further the development of the XOs' homegrown software, known as Sugar, and get it to run on Linux computers other than XOs. "Sugar is in a narrow place and it is ripe to be unleashed," he wrote in an e-mail exchange.
The AP article alos goes on to quote Negroponte as saying: "that an overriding insistence on open-source had hampered the XOs, saying Sugar "grew amorphously" and "didn't have a software architect who did it in a crisp way." For instance, the laptops do not support Flash animation, widely used on the Web.
"There are several examples like that, that we have to address without worrying about the fundamentalism in some of the open-source community," he said. "One can be an open-source advocate without being an open-source fundamentalist."
Negroponte added, Windows might be the sole operating system, and Sugar would be educational software running on top of it.
That might disappoint advocates of open-source software who helped bankroll OLPC and cheered the challenge it represented to Microsoft's dominance. Unlike proprietary software like Windows, open-source applications are developed by a community of programmers and the underlying code is freely shared.

Below is a summary of the results of this survey and a discussion of the research project which was designed to study this topic further."

"As predicted, significant main effects and interactions were found for font type, word style, and color combination. For example, plain text is consistently responded to more quickly than italicized. These main effects suggest that one can make general recommendations to screen display designers. However, the significant interactions highlight the fact that there is no one color combination, font type, or word style to use, but rather all conditions affect one another."
A closer look at your site/link reveals that indeed 5,000 laptops are to ship, but that does imply that all of the unfulfilled orders have been solved and will ship tomorrow. I know this as I am one of those unresolved laptop problems.
"During the reconciliation process of the "get" laptops shipped during Give One Get One, a number of unfulfilled order records were uncovered. We expect another ~5000 XO laptops will be shipped on Monday (January 21)."
From the Geekcorps site, it appears that Intel was supporting a program that parallels what OLPC is pursuing. So, the real question is whether Intel is influencing the current efforts of Wayan Vota's OLPCnews.com site.
From Geekcorps:
"Geekcorps has partnered with Intel Emerging Markets Group in Intel's "Discover the PC" initiative focused on delivering products and technologies that are specifically designed to meet the unique needs of people in emerging markets."
how this as blow to the OLPC project, she is still offering her technology at cost to OLPC and still consulting with them. Also, because of the G1G1 program Haiti, Rwanda, Ethiopia, Cambodia, Mongolia, and Afghanistan now have seed programs, which means that her technology is now on display in at least eight different countries[counting Mexico and Peru].

Would be interesting to hear how this observed mechanism compares to the Gate Control Theory of Pain Control, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gate_control_theory_of_pain
If this is the same mechanism, then treatment modalities from acupuncture to TENS to etc. might be better evaluated and explained.
