  1. patents should be non-transferable on Firm Seeks To Ban Mobile Companies' Imports To US · · Score: 2, Interesting
pretty simple, companies should not sell and buy patents!

Either that or they should be treated as real property and taxed, like real estate is taxed in most states. Then annual taxes would be assessed to patent holder.

Didn't they see Jurassic Park? Well not exactly the same thing, but who knows, that Neanderthal could have some disease that could kill all humans. Or we could kill it with a cold.

  4. Nokia N800/N810 and android on How About an iPhone OS Or Android-Based Netbook? · · Score: 1
It's already possible to put android on the N800/N810 Nokia tablets. I'd imagine it would be just a matter of getting someone to do the installer or try it out. Android is after all Linux under the hood, so it is possible that any netbook that runs Linux already can run android with a little bit of work. The CPU should not matter too much either, because Linux runs on almost all CPU's out there.

As for the iPhone and it's OS, it's called a mac. The iPhone is supposed to be running Mac OS X modified to run on the arm and with extra restrictions.

Personally I think the iPhone UI is more suited for a pda/phone type device and the android OS would probably work better on a desktop, but that's just IMO.

  10. iphone is better in some ways still on Is Anyone Buying T-Mobile's Googlephone? · · Score: 1
Unfortunately the iphone is considered better than the g1, here's why:

    1) more apps for the iphone, but that could change in time
    2) iphone = itunes, which everyone seems to use. while there are alternatives, I don't believe any are as popular
    3) iphone has better touch interface, the 2 finger resize is a very popular feature that the g1 does not have, there are other features.
    4) the g1 has this ridiculous bend at the bottom of the phone
    5) the keyboard is a odd layout compared to say the iphone onscreen keyboard or even the keyboard of the nokia n810, I actually think if the n810 were to be made into a phone in it's current design it would be a better item.

this is what several iphone users who have seen the g1 have said to me at least, and I kind of agree.

You will probably need to get a CS, CE, or EE degree. An MIS degree would not be that bad either. You have also take languages that are less 'in'. You would need Java, php, or .net before most places would even look at your resume. Then you would also need to know either UI design, or database. If you wanted to do database stuff, then you should learn either hibernate, or .net, as MS has their own db stuff within .net. If you wanted to do UI then you would either need to know .net forms, Java swing, or CSS/JavaScript/HTML.

Then you need experience, and since you have none, you would need to be ok with getting paid less. For database, I would say mysql or oracle. You need to understand sql and table design layout, as well as how to stop table scans.
