no places left to slack off soon, no more having a few drinks on the plane while watching the crappy movie, no reading the paper or catching some shuteye on the train. Do people really want to work everywhere?
Like I wouldn't just read slashdot during my whole commute anyway, who am I kidding?
It's funny to see the Penguin and Ranger farm teams duke it out in the AHL playoffs when neither parent club was even close to the playoffs in the NHL.
Any Calgary fans know the story on Regehr? The guy was born in Brazil?
Apparently playing hockey has nothing to do with the climate If teams actually took players from around the cities they play in, Tampa wouldn't stand a snowball's chance in hell against Calgary. If it got cold enough to skate on Tampa Bay on the other hand they might catch up in a few decades.
Worldwide piracy is still a big problem though I doubt there's much of it in the Baltic. This ship will be able to perform the Swedish Navy's annual sneak attacks on codfish and herring using anti sub bombs much more efficiently.
I have a 1997 Civic EX with 183,000 miles on it. I take lousy care of it, don't care about things like tire pressure or regular oil changes. I drive like a car thief and average about 36-38 mpg. Can't believe the Hybrids would get less than that. I've been eyeing the Turbo diesel Jetta, they get phenomenal mileage as well. Do they make a convertible? I wish I could get a Civic EX convertible.
Slashdot doesn't allow all kinds of html formatting in the journals. You can't integrate pictures in posts for example. If all you need are text and comments then I agree slashdot journals are just like blogs.
I could do without the "girls gone wired" segment because it is offensive and sexist, and I would not feel comfortable watching it with my wife or daughter. But on the other hand the show is about online culture and like it or not porn is a big part of that culture. I like the show for the odd guests that are on, freaks with weird interests or inventors of obscure or faddish stuff. The singing psychic and various conspiracy theorists are also amusing. Martin's visits to trekkie or UFO conventions are good too. I'm glad it made the cut.
Didn't read the article so not sure it applies, but if they lock this guy up while waiting for a trial I think at least he would welcome a lawyer surplus. As would anyone else charged with a crime on similarily shaky grounds.
It's gotten to the point that any word beginning with "nig" sounds racist to me. The word niggardly has gotten several people in hot water the last few years.
the last few years have given us: blue teethed camera phones, wi-fi, gps, i-tunes, etc. All useless compared to this fine implementation of hi-tech that will benefit all of mankind for generations to come.
they're renaming the book "A Girl's Life Online"
the poster meant not registered as a trademark
can you spare a square?
It reeks a bit of a pay for pals thing doesn't it? Like fraternities or sororities, sure we'll be your friends, did you pay your dues?
My touch typing has improved tremendously, and I always wanted to learn braille.
I was big on no@email.com for a while

Koffin or Kremation?
on the bright side you got a personal reply from a hindu god
I've tried both PopSci and Scientific American, the first too fluffy the second too far over my head, I need a hybrid.
which conspiracy theory/UFO/ghost topic did you buy in to?
seems OK though

Who needs a thermometer on a deserted island? Go outside, note the weather, "yup it's bloody hot again".

Is that the part about the guy in the whale? Because even though I saw it in "Finding Nemo" I have a hard time believing it could happen twice.
do they make those as a convertible? Not sure I've seen biodiesel anywhere around here (CT).
