Oracle could easily go after the low-end market by offering a crippled version of the Oracle database
It is called oracle XE, and includes an application framework(Apex - application express)
The only real difference is that XE has a space, ram and processor limitation to whet your appetite for full blown(and priced) Oracle
Tetris is a comunist look at destroying the building blocks of modern society. This is why the straight piece which clears all those lines is RED.
Don't let the simple graphics fool you.
It could also be a FPS in which you play a block trying to kill other blocks and keep respawning as new blocks every few minutes:R - the tongue in cheek smilie
The storyline was better than kotor1?
Which version were you playing? It can't have been the obsidian version. The main goal is to save 4 jedi, and then if you are good or bad they still all die(what the hell one of them died before you got there, leading to the second most boring planet in the game)
And the prize for most boring planet in the game goes to....
That awful asteroid ship depot thing at the beginning. It has about 15 million cross eyed robots that couldn't hit a large country if they tried.
But turning your party to jedi is cool, right? Not really when they only start getting force points 4/5 of the way through the game then good luck in getting them any decent powers
Even the villains sucked. Notice the big face on the box? He is only named in the game after you kill him
Even the boxart is wrong 3/4 of the pictures on the back are *impossible* to achieve from having lighsabers too early to having a female PC with the NPC you only get if you play as a male.
Even the plot line was broken. Revan was trying to bring down the republic to *save* it? Oh yes Sith regularly try and save the galaxy(because that is what sith do)
In the first section there is a bug that freezes your character when running through some smoke. The only way through is to use an adrenal stimulant or target an enemy on the other side
Character interactions were also mucked up
eg. near the end of the game, NAME used to replace the real name to avoid spoilers>
Handmaiden: My name is actually NAME
~~random conversation~~
Player:So what is your name?
NAME:I'm not telling you that, i don't know you well enough
KotOR was the best game i have ever played(it just had so much awesome) and it is what episode 1-3 should have been. It had all the best parts of the original trilogy redesigned with an exciting plot and fun characters
KotOR2 on the other hand is most likely the worst game i have ever played(and will not be trying NWN2 because of it), dropped plotlines, and oh so many bugs
Mod parent up
I so agree with this. You can find racism, sexism, agism(how many old people games are there(before UP)) extreemism, bioengineeringism, heathanism etc
And how many more gamers would be forced to go "outside", be bored and hang out in parking lots, where they sell real guns and knives, instead of destroying digital peeps.
Bonus points to Jack Thompson for saying the oen guy must be a counter strike player and all he played was sonic
Warning:Spinning fast may cause homicidal instincts
I recently got Starcraft(*shock* *horror*, i know)
And the game has NO DRM. You don't even need the CD in the drive to play(In fact you are encouraged to run a lan-party off a single copy)
And where did that get Blizzard??? Only 11 million copied sold, making it the 4th highest selling PC game. Proof that if you game is good enough, DRM is not required....
No more one-off pieces? then what do you call the spngebob squarepants sets *shock* *horror* i saw it in my toyshop... Almost everything was a one-off piece...
Back in my day you built items you didn't have, ie a dog was
a 1x1 square block, 1/3 of a brick high(head) - stuck on at a 45 degree angle
a 2x1 block 1/3 of a brick high(body)
2 1x1 round blocks 1/3 of a square high(legs)
voila instant doggie to complete and family...
The number of things you can build with general lego bricks is astounding - i built 20 pokemon from lego blocks from the 90's
I don't know what the standard for the movie industry is
But i heard that Star Wars Episode 3: Revenge of the Sith was $56m production and another $56m on marketing - which makes it 1:1
Pity it couldn't hold a candle to 1977's New Hope(only cost $11m)
But if you still have your soggy copy of 1984(with the contents illegible, but the cover readable), then you *could* use it as a license to *borrow* an ebook from a file-sharing friend. Provided that you keep the original cover as proof of ownership (it is the same as ripping a CD, and keeping the disc as proof of purchase)

The Dummies Guide To...
correct, in fact even lego discourages calling the bricks Legos
If we are limited in what we compare black people to, then what limitations are on what you can compare white people to?
Vanilla Ice?
anything else?
long live nag (www.nag.co.za) for giving leisure suit larry: box office bust a well deserved 10%(and hte ponies award for lameness)
I think it was better than KOTOR 1 storywise.

Anybody care to guess how much they'd have made off the same 57,000 people if they hadn't held this promotion?
Answer: $0
I always thought it looked nice, but $20? not so much. Even though i shouldn't be spending, i still gave them $2 for a copy
ANd i read that the average time between a song being posted on iTunes, and it appearing on peer-to-peer is 180 seconds.
That is average, so uncle fib's country hits take 5 minutes, Neyo's latest single takes, what? 5 seconds? 1 minute?

I will be giving out LiveCDs and and discs of free software.
Don't get overexcited and wet yourself about the free software. (I'm not saying it isn't necessarily good, but he may be handing out AOL CDs....)

The real solution would be a wireless pigeon network
Everyone connects to their nearest pigeon, which then passes the packets to the next pigeon.
Actually i think i just designed cellphone networks with movable towers
The scary thing is even with vast packet loss it would still be faster than "Hellkom"
ps. if anyone is wondering about telkom's(helkom :) service check it out here http://www.hellkom.co.za/pages/telkom-facts-and-information.php
For currency exchange it is about R7-8/$
And pothole and gettin lost due to street renaming.
Here is to NMR being renamed to Masabalanga Yengwa Rd
Disclaimer: Also from SA
And packet loss from Hawks, and pigeons getting distracted to chase female pigeons (Since all SA pigeons do is chase food and females)
And you got none for not quoting it :)
BTW

Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic was perfect.
Jade Empire was amazing.
Mass Effect was fun, for a RPG/FPS.
There, fixed it for you...
You say KotOR was ok? and it won like 30-40 Game of the year awards? are you sure we are talking about the same game?
And while Jade Empire was not perfect, it was still extremely fun(from the guy who is playing it for a third time...)
I don't know what the standard for the movie industry is

Damn, but i wish i had Mod points. This is so accurate of just about every EULA....
But Coruscant was not designed by Lucas, but by Timmothy Zahn.
50 bugs price tag
50 bugs?
Any restriction on what breed they have to be?
Do ants count?
What a novel way to pay for your games. I can now afford *millions* of games
