Netbooks are CHEAP. Portable computing with internet access. And last I checked Linux was way cheaper than M$ when you need an operating system. So I can see why netbooks would be popular seller at the cheaper end of computer products.
of the time my korean friend sang Johnny Cash's "I've Been Everywhere". He had a wicked bad Konglish accent but he damn near sang that song. Good times
We've all been saying that the major music publishers sales are shrinking, right? Well this is the moment where it really shows. This move of theirs will affect the artists signed underneath them as they re prioritize their marketable assets and just remove all the fringe bands/artists that fewer people listen to.
Soon they'll be selling only the bands/artists on the Top40 chart (or whatever chart they've made anyways). It's AMPUTATION.
The money flow is going the way it should. More about the artists and less about the publishers. And at better prices.
To gain recognition, artists aren't required to sign away all their rights to a giant publisher anymore.
I think Robotech is being made into a movie too. I kinda liked that cartoon... except that playing J-pop to aliens confuses them (wait, maybe that makes sense)
I've had dog meat. I'm in korea now and I've had it both grilled and stewed in soup. Its not bad. Kinda oily and a bit gamy but tastes like meat. Now I wonder what cat tastes like. They're much more worthless than dogs. ~If it has four legs and its not a table, eat it~ Cantonese saying.
That's what I was thinking. I'm in S. Korea and there are, not one but, TWO tv channels that play Starcraft tourneys almost 24/7. And its been like this for quite some time. So by now its really getting old and stale and the audience/gamers are looking for something new and fresh. I guarantee that there will be televised Starcraft 2 tourneys within a week of official release.
Even if LAN isn't included in the official software I'll bet that Blizzard would give the tourneys special patches to make it work. Gaming TV is big biz here and the players/teams are sponsored (they wear jackets with product endorsements like Nascar racers).
Simulations don't directly kill (duh, its in the name). Its always drawing a connection from simulation to the real thing that takes some convincing. It's what the politicians sell when they offer up cooked up statistics or the latest school shooting for voting parents and elderly.
To quote Yahtzee of Zero Punctuation about motion controllers: "People plays games to unwind and no one unwinds by coming home and waving their arms like air traffic controllers covered in beetles." And that said it all
Do they crawl out of your pee hole like in the movie The Island?
Programming is a trade skill, not art.
Mmmmm, Nuka Cola
Yes but... individuals don't usually have a fleet of lawyers to defend themselves. Corporations do. Hooray, i stated the obvious
people who have learned often don't learn cursive (perhaps reading but not writing). Does it matter to ESL people? Probably not a big deal.

Why is there a "GoogleWave" tag? I don't get it.
Now I know where to go for spring break

A helpful military "virtual assistant" (that moves the story along). Does it look like this? ----> http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cortana
Hmmmmm, interesting point. So how would you scientifically calculate the asshole "saturation point" when their effectiveness plateaus off?
That game was awesome before it went 3D

This guy must've read William Gibson's Neuromancer and that that it could really happen. Insert a Turing Police tag onto this article.
If you keep it in the box.
Oooooo, when can I buy replacement lasers from the auto shop!?!?!

Fox is still trying to kill Futurama... or keep it dead.
Lemme just copy what you did and then add a clock to it. Done! A derived work. Money please!
