Get either a newer version of the encoder (hey 1.0 is out. Aren't you lucky:) or turn the quality setting up higher. I use 3 (The default I think). 0 is 64kbit
I'm a Winamp and XMMS user currently although I'm going to give Zinf a try on my Doze box. Sure it doesn't have as many cool features as Winamp but it also doesn't have the spectre of AOL hovering over your shoulder while you use it.
For the record a lot of people have those exact same problems with their SKY Digiboxes. There doesn't seem to be a whole lot of quality control in Digital TV software.
That's because he was using an RGB scart cable. It's been deliberately crippled by Sony. To watch DVD they want you to use the crappy composite cable that comes with the unit.
2) I can disable the pop-under ads on sites I frequent by putting those sites into the "restricted" zone. Mozilla offers me no way to disable the popunders without completely disabling Javascript. (I'd rather have a option for "disable all javascript based popups", but at least IE gives me SOMETHING.)
Get a newer version of mozilla and go into preferences/advanced/scripts and windows.
Turn off the "open unrequested windows" tickbox. Bingo. You now have to click a link before the popup/under will open. Sites can't open them for you.
Have you seen their new text ads? They don't get in the way, don't jump out of the screen screaming at you and most importantly of all have actually been interesting (The ones I've seen so far). I've been clicking them for the curiosity value.
They have a page where anyone can buy their own ($12 for 4000 impressions). http://www.kuro5hin.org/submitad
Now *that's* how it should be done. I hope it works for them.
I don't see ads because of junkbuster. I suspect I'm not alone here:) I didn't even know they were testing the new ads until someone posted about it and I checked.
You think that's bad. The University I work at abandoned Pascal as a first language in favour of Visual Basic. After an 86% first year failure rate they've relented for certain routes (CS and a few others) who now learn C.

I'm off now to make some feature requests.
"Ever watch Battleship Potempkin? How come you can't get that on Kazaa?"
Because it doesn't have Kirsten Dunst's nipples showing through a wet shirt silly.
You said: "they have not released an expansion pack for years"
I beg to differ

Aren't you talking about Gran Tourismo rather than Grand Theft Auto 3?
I know I can certainly flip my car on it's top and I've had more than my fair share take too much damage and explode.
As usual. I don't suppose anyone has a list of mirrors?

I suggest we all band together and gather up enough money to buy our own law.
I move that our new law should be that employers *must* give Unix administrators free doughnuts when requested.
Why? I like dougnuts. If you don't then buy your own damn law commie.
I suspect he just forgot his smiley when he made the MPAA comment. Perhaps he just thought people would get the joke without needing tags.
Broadband already has a killer app. It's called porn.
The fatter the pipe, the faster your porn downloads. It's physics or something.

Sounds like you go to Teesside Uni :(

Why bother looking?
I use mine to play Jet Set Willy. I'm not stealing games.
They do have legit uses.
Coffee. That's bacteria invented by geeks for geeks.
for a clone of Brittney Spears early so as to avoid the rush.
Don't be shy. Tell us what you really think :)
:)
If I were you I'd never, ever watch Blake's 7.
You can buy the radio show on cd. It's well worth it.
I can't deny that you have a very good point there :)
