    This could be a misconstrued causation. While the article talked much about the benefit of socializing, it could be that since some folks are making 10%-14% more, they have more potentially-disposable income with which to buy alcohol.

    Though, to be fair, Abbas ibn Firnas did build a flying machine. It just wasn't good at being a landing machine as well.

    optimus2861 is correct, but to clarify this, if you're alone with an unresponsive adult, haul ass to call 911, then come back to do what you can for him (rescue breathing, CPR, defib with AED).

    I do see the CD paranoia thing. My wife's company diables the CDROMs and floppies so that nobody can install "foreign" software. I'm not quite sure how they deal with USB , but I think they figure nobody at that office knows enough to use a key or a portable.

    Quite simple in an AD environment with Windows XP. These instructions show up all over the place on the net, but most recently I've seen them written up at O'Reilly.

    The Helis are way overpowered, no doubt about it. It also keeps people from playing - you finally spawn (after the 10minute wait to finally join a game) and in 5 seconds a whoop-whoop-whoop helicopter sound is heard, and the screen goes red, and you die. That happens 30 seconds later when you spawn again. Then again. When you finally get into a tank, cool - now you're safe! Uh, no, actually you aren't...

    Unfortunately, since they have sold the rights to Universal, they cannot bring back Firefly.

    Is this right? I recall hearing that Fox still owns the rights and that SciFi and Universal have paid for licenses for rebroadcast and movie-making respectively. I think I got this information from Finding Serenity.

    So, if you tweak the simulation to produce the results you want it to produce, this is better how?

    The models would demonstrate the theories thus possibly providing a clearer explanation of the theory. It would be up to the instructor and the class to argue which model most accurately resembles reality.

    And the students get the added benefit of learning that "he who frames the argument, wins it" or as I recently heard it phrased, "control the givens, win the argument."
