Uhm, yeah. The entire point of the article was colleges that gamers would like to go to. I'd think it would be a downside to that if you can't play games in the first place...
The prices tend to get inflated, though, because when the farmers put the items up for sale they're not putting it up for common-sense prices. They're putting up the items for inflated prices so they get more gold that they can sell. In turn people buy that gold so they can afford the items the farmers put up for sale in the first place. It's a vicious cycle, but the opposite way that you explain it.
No one in the industry has taken the previous attempts at an award show seriously because they shows seem to offer up an award to the highest bidder and not the one most deserving.
So... Remind me how this is different from the Academy Awards again?
Course he does. "Before they judge, they should see the film, that's the first thing. Second, they should really try to compare it fairly, and not based on my name.
"If people really think I'm completely talentless, and this is to journalists, they should at least rent one of my earlier movies, like Heart of America, which is a really, really good movie.
"And then they should say, 'Okay, this is the history of this director, we should judge him based on this.' They shouldn't say, 'This guy cannot make movies,' because this is unfair. I think it's very arrogant that a lot of journalists are not even willing see that movie before they judge my directing ability."
This doesn't make any sense... So maybe he made a decent movie a long time ago (I've never seen any of them to be truthful), but what does that have to do with how people view his current movies? If a movie sucks it's not going to be any better because the director made a good movie in his past. All it'll say is that the director might be "past their prime".
So they're getting all bent out of shape about a comic depicting them as violent and what do they do to protest the comic? They get violent, start riots and deface things.
I was pretty surprised when I did see it in the store. Ever since Logitech announced it I'd planned on getting one, so I'd been visiting their site every so often to see if it was available. It never was.
I was at Best Buy one day for something completely unrelated and saw one on the shelf so I picked it up right away.
With all the fanfare they gave it when they announced it I'm surprised they're not hyping up the fact it's available more.
Actually, the G15 keyboard has been shipping for awhile now. I've had one for probably at least a month, possibly more (I can't quite remember the exact date).
I would highly recommend it, though! The LCD is a great feature.
How is it considered choice when in this case the Gnome usability team said REMOVE the options? Linus said he recommends KDE because it does provide the options that he and other people want.
Actually, if you want to make a jab at not being able to run something you'd have better luck with F.E.A.R. Quake IV actually runs nicely on systems that couldn't even begin to run F.E.A.R.

Terrible coverage? From my experience Sprint has great coverage. Over the last 3 or so years that I've had sprint I've been all around the US and I've only lost my signal in places where I'd expect to (in the middle of nowhere in a valley, for example). There have been many times where I have an excellent signal and other people with me on different providers have little or no signal at all.
There's no Upgrade option per se, but if you put the DVD in while you're in XP it will allow you to start the install from inside XP. It will notify you that it will move the Docs and Settings, Program Files and Windows dirs to something like Windows.old, though.
It does? It defaults to MSN search for me and even when I selected google it didn't save that selection past the current session, so I had to keep selecting it every time I opened IE again.
You just answered your own question. The people that were waiting for the game controlled his timetable.
It's funny how when developers wait to get something right and people complain about it taking forever and then when they release it early people complain about patches and things not being finished.
You mean something like this? I can't vouch for it or anything, but I'm planning on getting one myself once "lack of funds" problem gets resolved. I have, however, ordered one of their ezLCD-002 LCD's that I'm currently waiting for. I've read that the LCDs are refurbs, though, but the cost of replacement is pretty cheap (somewhere around $50 I think).
Actually, I really think they meant HL1 was based on a highly modified quake 1 engine, just like they said. The site you link to even says Quake, not quake 2. Valve added a ton of stuff on the q1 engine, such as 16 and 24 bit rendering and mmx support as well as a skeletal animation system. I tried Vendetta around a year ago when I found the Guild Software site based on some searches I was doing. Since I'm always in the mood for a game (especially a free one!) I tried it out and ended up having a blast. I'd highly recommend the game for anyone interested in space combat. It's a little hard starting out because of all the high-level enemies (same with any RPG, though), but if you let everyone know you're just starting out and need to do some trading to earn money they'll usually understand (and some will probably help you).
It also helps that Guild Software is located a floor below me in the building I work in. =)
Isn't it pretty much a given, though?
I mean... it IS a video game.
Uhm, yeah. The entire point of the article was colleges that gamers would like to go to. I'd think it would be a downside to that if you can't play games in the first place...
A really pretty paperweight!
It'll look a lot like Daikatana.

Actually it's one word, Daikatana.
Based on the lore behind Linus and the penguin, shouldn't it be Biting Penguins?
So at the end of the interview he says:

Seems a bit counter-productive to me.

If World of Warcraft is any indication... Yeah, I think people do.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought the IGES format was supposed to be a "universal" 3d file format.
I know 3D Studio MAX and Rhino3D support it and I believe SoftImage and Lightwave do, too.
Sorry, I just had to reply to this.
