Reputation for great customer service my ass! I called their tech support line last week when my IIe stopped reading diskettes, and they said they "don't support legacy platforms"! Kids today, with their iBlogs and their MyDiggs, makes me sick... back in my day, we had to flip the diskettes over to read more information, in the snow, uphill both ways!
So, its going to combine an iPod (retail price ~$300) and a PSP (reatail price ~$200). There is no way this thing will be able to reatil for less than ~$400.00. At that price point (for a handheld) they've priced themselves out of reach for all but the most hardcore, affluent gamers./me clutches my DS
And I thought $150.00 was a bit much.
(Speaking of the DS, I need to buy Tetris tomorrow...)
Yeah, I'm not comforted by that at all. Isn't against the law to use an SSN for anything other than official Social Security Admin business? I know this is the reason why Maryland (my alma mater) stopped using everyone's SSN as their Student ID Number.
"This is a defining market--not unlike the effect the PC had for Microsoft--and the bedrock of future software applications."
Flash is the bedrock of future applications? Yikes. Now all my spreadsheets will have bright flickering colors? My databases will make noise as I roll over certian items? My word processor will let me hit the monkey and win $1,000?
I highly recommend Satelite Radio and an alternative to Big Music. I'm sure the RIAA still gets their cut, but for the price of one CD per month (less than one probably) I get access to dozens of stations from virtually any genre, not to mention audio feeds from all three major 24-hr news networks (CNN, MSNBC, FoxNews). And I don't need to keep up with music to hear what's new, a DJ plays new music as it comes out for that station's genre/style. I don't want to sound like an advertisement, but I really think its hard to go wrong with Satelite, XM or Sirius.
(As an aside, I have XM and a Tao MyFi portable unit. I wear it on my belt, and it gets music from a satelite in outer freakin' space.)
Do yourself a big favor and get a nostromo n52. You can find it easily on Froogle. I don't know how well it works with Linux since I play games on Windows, but I have found mine to be worth every penny. If even has three shift modes if you find 15 keys, a scroll wheel, and a D-pad just aren't enough.
Wow, a Mac user calling other people elitist narcisists? I guess FreeBSD is totally flawed due to its lack of one particular application, of which there are probably open-source tools to do the same thing. Get back to your Starbucks and your iPod and let the men handle this, Nancy.
Microsoft is planning something. I'll bet anything they have a patent on the 'open' format. Just replace one form of control with another.
Open Formats = Compatibility = Loss of Control. MS will not allow this to happen.

Currently, you can run unsigned code on any DS (reguardless of region or firmware version) with a small piece of hardware that inserts into the DS card slot and a GBA flash cart. You can even run the DS Downloadable demos (like they had at the kiosks at E3) with only a combatible wifi card for your PC. If you want a homebrew-able machine, buy a DS.
I haven't played many of my commercial DS games in a while, but I play homebrew or E3 demos almost every day still.
PS: I really hope they release an English version of Trauma Center. Or maybe I'll just learn Japanese...
I never thought I'd see the day Microsoft actually did something smart... but the cynic in me can't help but think they'll use this as a way to find all the warez'd Windows Serial Numbers to set up a blacklist at Windows Update.
OK, do I understand this correctly, this was about fan-created maps and skins for Halo?
Nope, not at all. Its a project that works on a different game's engine, with copied artwork, copied characters, and copied concepts.
...and there ain't a GOT-DAMMED thing you can do about it!

Is this some kind of Hanso Foundation trick?

Seriously, how is this news?
Does this mean they can only be stopped by large, terrible war machines?

Solitare Vista is going to be the best-looking card simulation game available on any platform! I can't wait to get my hands on Vista now!

Metallica's Black Album - $18.98.
How affordable.
